I guess the question was more along these lines: "can I play and enjoy the map without knowing Dark Messiah itself?"
In which case I'd say yes you can. As Cepheus said, the FPS obviously contains more, but the map is self explaining and shouldn't require any previous knowledge of the story.

That indeed was the question, thanks for the answer.

I just updated the installer: now it also contains the french localization mod for the map. I guess not much of you care, but the file size is the same anyway (ok, it adds about 70kb ).

By the way, if anyone makes another localization in his language, I can include it as well. You can just look at the french one to get the files to translate.

Hi,

- @sfidanza or whomever can answer. I have tried multible times to save a replay but everytime I try to load it, I get an error. It simply crashes the game ?

It works to me Vs. Arantir. Well, Sareths icon is white, Undead cyclop is invisible and is named Yeti and it's icon is a dragon wing mantle

Uh, did I say that?  News to me

Is this in the original or the updated version of the map mod?  Because this means there are problems with the .xdb files in one version or the other.

@Sphere, guarder:
Sphere, which exe did you play with? which did you load the replay with?
Guarder saved the replay with the dedicated .exe, then tried to load it with the standard one, hence the missing icons: they are not loaded by the standard game.
Unless you use the "Map only (no exe)" option in the installer.

@Cepheus:
you said that it was "hard to fit an FPS into a TBS", which I rephrased as "the FPS obviously contains more". Was that misleading?
Edit: My mistake. Apologies to Cepheus and roy-algriffin.

Hi,

- Well I played the game from within the binDM folder  and I saved it from there too. But I dont see any option in the Dm folders as to replays, mine's just stored in the C:/doc...../replays. And yes I loaded with the standard .exe  ..... well I'm just gonna install it from AOH now.

Very nice map ! But there's a little bug : when Sareth strikes an ennemy in combat, it's a different model than the one in the adventure map! This one has long hair, wearing leather/chainmail cloths, on a brown horse, while the adventure one has short hair, wearing plate armor and ridind a black horse!
Anyway, it's a very good map

Small, I know, but in cut-scenes the hero has no eyeballs.  His icon does, and his models do as far as I can tell.  Is this supposed to be, or has something whacked out on my file?  He is also eye-less in combat (they are just white).

Yes, Sareth has no eyeballs until the final cinematics (if you decide to go for the good end) and I can't see why. I've tried to set his eyelids transparent (by changing the alpha channel on the texture) and it didn't change anything.

If someone does some bug-fixing on the map, you can let me know, so I integrate them in the package.
The package will be updated with other languages anyway.

Indeed!
I have some problems with my connection/router/TCP-IP layer, and requested items are sometimes exchanged: baseline, roy-algriffin's post had Cepheus' avatar, and I got tricked.
Fixed, with apologies.

Ehem. I think I just found out that this DM map is not compatible with the NCF executable I alredy have in the bin folder, the one for DM just dosent show up, and when I try to run the shortcut it stands something like: zlib1.dll does not exist!

So...do I have to remove every bit of NCF or is it possible to make this map NCF compatible?

What do you mean? You downloaded the exe for the DM map, but it is no longer there?
