Have you all noticed that every Pro Tour finalist (top 8) almost everyone of them uses white mana, and a specefic set of creatures and spells?

Lots of people are splashing white for path to exile ever since conflux came out.
Path to Exile will likely be in almost as many top decks as Bitter Blossoms was at the last World Tournament.

Yes, I can see Path to Exile going big, but I don't think it'll go past the Blossom's papularity. Its quite a useful card though. But Blossom had a lot in common with, oh I don't know, the most powerful Tribal deck in history. Not to mention the peskiest, most synergistic and most played deck.

I don't see Faeries being completely dominant anymore. It has too many poor matchups like Blightning Beatdown. And now that Conflux is out Jund Mana Ramp is gonna own it as well.

Just a quick question, what exactly counts as a permanent? All creatures and lands, because I have a */* Black Fear that its power and toughness are equal to the number of black permanents I control. This card has just been a game winner whenever it comes out, and I was just wondering if I am playing it right.
Thanks!

Yes, anything that's in play is a permanent. This includes artifacts, creatures, enchantments, lands and planeswalkers.
Bear in mind, though, that lands are (usually) colorless. The only land so far that has a color by default is Dryad Arbor.

Yes, because a cards color is determined by its casting cost, therefore lands bear no color of their own, though they produce mana.

Actually Faeries are pretty much not played anymore.

What theme do you think is best?
By theme i mean creature type deck like my elf deck..
My top 3: (Always my top 3, 5 and what ever!? It's fun to make lists)
3rd place: Sliver's (Great for almost everything)
2nd place: Scarecrow's (Not really good, but still i like them)
1st place: Elves/Elf's (I know them cuz i own them, and they are insanely good.. An allmost everytime winner category)

Elemental Bidding? Fungi Stack? Spirits? Angels? Horrors? Been there, done that.
From the most viable and not very popular I can recall Wizards, Zombie Bidding in Oddysey/Onslaught standard and original Mono U Fish (?) in Masks/Invasion standard.

Apparently (as per official spoiler) Alara Reborn will not have any monocolor cards in it.
Comments?

My comment is: Awesome! I hate monocolour decks!,, multicolour is much more fun to play with and against cuz it's more variated in stradegy!
But what is Alara Reborn? Another add-on til Shards and Conflux?

well considering how easy it is to run a 5 color deck that won't affect most of us in the least but, i fear they will add more manafixing... that could screw up standard for the next set.

Alara Reborn
The birth of one world. The death of five.
Alara Reborn, dubbed "Scissors" in the set Rock-Paper-Scissors, is the third and final expansion of the Shards of Alara Block. It will consist of 145 cards, comprised of 10 mythics, 35 rares, 40 uncommons and 60 commons.
Completely gold means that you'd have to rely on the previous expansions for your mana fixing, and since Exploding Borders, I don't think it'll be a problem - plus Kaleidostone and Mana Cylix and Armillary Sphere. I think they built up to a Gold Set.

Does double strike hits a player twice if no creatures are blocking it?

Yes.
But if it is blocked and kills its blocker(s) with its first strike, it won't strike the player afterwards unless it has trample.

I knew it! I knew it! thx...
I did only ask cuz one of my play-mates said the opposite, and he actually does that all the time!
Sore Loser is the right word here i think..
----
But now for a real question from me, cuz i think i misunderstand it..
here goes:
An attacker that is blocked, but whose blocker is removed from combat before this time deals no damage at all to the defending creature.
Does that mean the creature will hit the player? Yes would be my guess.
And now for the real question:
Creatures that leave play while combat damage is on the stack still deal their damage; damage that was assigned to them is not dealt.
Does that mean if i use any destroy effect, the target will still deal damage and then it is destroyed? Or how should i understand that rule?
