i played green black prismatic
my ally played a deck he whipped up with his starter set and boosters (new)
my bro(enemy) played a green blue sprout swarm infinite (nettle fable of ...) with akroma's memorial
my other enemy played goblins.
so my ally had a wound reflection ad my foe had stench skipper.
i had 8 lands 5 swamps
so i drew and i found pythisis (dunno bout spelling)
hit myfoes for 22!

Sounds like an interesting duel. Yes, Phthsis is a good card. Specially targeting something like Marit Lage (wouldn't kill it, but your opponent loses 40 life) or...Autochthon Wurm (23 life) or...Darkstell colossus (22 life). Hmm...ug my Isleback Spawn...oh wait it has Shroud.

Magus of the Future - The text of the Magus is in two parts. The first is simple. As long as the good wizard's in play, your library's top card is public knowledge as its revealed. After you draw all cards in an effect, the card is revealed.
The second part "You may play the top card of your library." Lands are played normally, and only once per turn. Anything else must be paid for with the appropriate mana. The phrase "without paying its mana cost" is required for it to be free.
Suspend has its wording carefully chosen. In the text, it says "rather than playing this card from your hand". So it has to be in your hand to play it with Suspend in the first place.
You cannot play Haakon from the top of your deck with the good Magus, since he can only be played from the Grave.

Would creating a Spirit/Soulshift deck combined with counterspells be a good idea?

Yes, Spirits have a LOT of leadway as of late. Spirit decks tend to have amazing synergy. Remember that the Demigods from Shadowmoor/Eventide are Spirit Avatars, so they can be Soulshifted back to play with Soulshift 5 and above.
Recently Thought of Combo - Any damager thats fatal to everyone plus Runed Halo.
Play Runed Halo set to the card your about to pump full with an infinite damage or something. Then play the infinite to normally kill everyone. But, you have protection from it. hah.

@sith ...pretty cool...also it's a good protection against "tendrils" or "colossus" or "grindstone"...all in all, decent card
@disturbed ...spirit/soulshift deck is great but i don't use counterspells...try this cards:
Ashen-Skin Zubera
Dripping-Tongue Zubera
He Who Hungers
Kodama of the South Tree
Kokusho, the Evening Star
Lifespinner
Oyobi, Who Split the Havens
Forked-Branch Garami
Sire of the Storm
Rend Flesh
Soulless Revival... bla bla... i can go on & on, spirits are great, have good synergy with all colors and works with almost all decks
(ou yes...great combo cards too...)

@mamga - It depends on your needs. First of all, binders are an excellent way to store cards. Tabbing the pages with the colors also helps. Depending on your playset, you may arrange cards by color (most do), then by class or alphabetical order. Putting a roster of what you have in each color helps a lot, but it takes a lot of work. Now, besides that, arranging mint cards that you'll probably never use but fetch a nice price with either your friends or dealers is a good idea as well. That's what I do with some cards e.i - Stigma Lasher, Helix Pinnacle...

You have a lot of Hellbent cards, and Kollspine Dragon works in quite the reverse. However, setting it up with Discard costs can help the Dragon make the deck have good synergy. Perhaps Wheel of Fate and things like that that refill your hand with short burst spells, like burn or discard spells.
Phthisis is slightly too slow in this kind of deck, and in anything but a mono-black, it can almost never be played for full-cost.
Pardic Dragon is another thing that doesn't fit very well. I would consider removing it.
Seals of Doom are in effect instant-speed. Try adding two others if you can.
Mephidross Vampire makes all your other beasties incredibly annoying. I'd recommend making the Vamp your focus.
Everything else you can come up with yourself...
