They make my skills look childish by comparison. I've never been that great at RTS games but damn, I didn't think it was possible for the Necrons to be a powerhouse after Soulstorm.

The Wraith/Solar Flare combination was extremly good, and I would never even have thought of sending Scarabs to decap Their free-reinforcing really helped there.
Heh, the SM player knew how to use those Rhinos too, he managed to block the Necrons passage a few times.
Maybe he would've been better off with mass-ASM? Not sure really...

As I've read on other forums, they are probably saving the Autarch for an expansion. Why? Because it would overshadow the other commanders. Several suspect that's why the Chaplin and Librarian have been excluded. They can always bring them in later.
As to the Beta, I have had Soulstorm since it was released but I doubt that will get me access for some reason. It would be sweet though.
As to expansions, I hope the Necrons can make it in eventually. I have no idea what commanders they'd pick. Heck, I'm not even sure what the other races would use. I could see it being something similar to:
Necrons: Necron Lord, Pariah, Necron Lord Destroyer
Imperial Guard: Commander, Priest, Inquisitor/Adeptus Mechanicus Magos.
Dark Eldar: Archon... I have no idea.
Chaos: Champion, Sorceror, Demon Prince?
Sisters: Meh, I doubt they'll make it.

Chaos might have heroes representing different Chaos gods, but I doubt it... they'll probably have the choice of summoning different Chaos servants than those of Khorne though.
Also... what about the Inquisition? They're pretty close to SM but it's not like they're a minor force in the universe...
Would be nice to have the Ordo Malleus' Grey Knights as a faction, but it might get boring with another "Oh my GOD emperor you're so awesome you're the MAN!" faction...

For the Tau I could see something like: Commander, Ethereal, Kroot Shaper
Chaos: Chosen ones of the 4 gods could work assuming they added a 4th commander. Otherwise, it'd probably just be: Khorn, Nurgle, Tzeencth.
As to the Ordos Malleas, I don't see them being in except for a special match. There isn't much that can stop a Grey Knight. As someone on another forum suggested, putting them up a Chaos Daemon faction would be ideal.

And the Ta'u would never... ever follow a simple Shaper! Or any Kroot at all... or anything that isn't Ta'u.

The ethereal as a relic? I don't think that'd work. I'd rather have a Greater Chicken Gnarloc or a Hammerhead in there.

No no no no... sorry but the Ta'u works this way:
"Sure, you can join, but you have to let us be on top" ( , can be misunderstood)
I doubt that a kroot would ever get to go anywhere with an army without a Shas commander.
The Vespid didn't even join by their own will, ever seen their headgears? Those are actually a sort of brain controller which the Ta'u has tricked them into believing is a translator...

Well, he could have some extremly awesome skills... like a sattelite firing Ion beams down on the enemy, summoning elite Firewarriors, maybe he could come with a personal Crisis Bodyguard?
And Hammerheads aren't that badass really... or at least not in the tabletop... I'd rather see the Chicken or a Skyray there.
On second thoughts... You're right, no Ethereal relic unit.

Well, seeing as how a Predator is the closest thing the Space Mariens have a relic at the moment, you'd think a Hammerhead would be right up there.
