If you are not ambitious things don't get any better, for example: I tried to replace the pink lich with the textures from the old revenant mod from elrath.com but it looked terrible because all the pink effects still remained around his body

Lich is purple not pink, and I like it.
Now mod the other creatures and release the stuff..pls

What's the difficulty here exactly with editing the effects to remove the pink? You can't just duplicate materials, textures and dds files, then recolour them...?

From the looks of it, I believe they are having difficulty in locating the effect textures in the first place. Those data files are a mess.

Maybe its to late but i have some suggestions for colors.
Normal Upgrades. Black & Red
Alternate Upgrades. White & Blue (?)
I have done Black and Red for my undeads (yes, i mod but im not active on modding forums or projects) and it looks very good i think.
Just a tips.

it's just that i have no complete idea on how effects work in H5, i know about the textures, stats, and texts, but i have no clue how they work or how to mod them. and i could probably locate them in the data.pak, but i have no clue on how to change them.
@ xerox: we are only modding the alt upg. i am making them dark blue with dark red in some places.

I don't understand this
Many, many, maany people want this mod came out, but only 1 modder with lack of effect-editing skills is hard working on it? Where the other modders are :/

I'm trying to help though!
Wulfstan, you're only modifying textures to change the colour (I think!), just like when you're modifying creature textures. You can use the Map Editor to find which texture files to change. At a simplistic level, you can just modify the DDS files that are linked to. Unfortunately, some of them may be shared files, in which case you'd need to duplicate them.
Don't forget:
Animation->Effect->ParticleInstance->Textures->DDSs
->ModelInstance->Model->Materials->Textures->DDSs
Also, pay attention to the DDS type that you're saving as, some may be different to the usual creature textures.
(All from memory mind.)

Just release the poltergeist and the banshee and let os worry about the rest.
those are the only ones that need modding anyway.

Banshee is not done yet. Besides, it wouldn't be looking good with mixed up colours.

I disagree.
As you don't choose over the whole set of alternate upgrades, but for each individual unit, they are already a mix. And Master Liches look cool in purple.

Well, I did something to help you guys (or it may not be helpful at all)...
I unpacked all the data.pak and searched for every file which name contains skeleton, horror or banshee. Below is a list of these files and thier location:

Everything is almost done. I changed the rest of texures but can't change the pink eyes of horror dragon and pink clouds of banshee (which are based on effects).
I just can't figure this out :/ If only someone could tell me WHICH files I must edit...
or...
can anyone tell me how to change path from the BANSHEE pink clouds to WRAITH teal clouds??
