10 years ago - you wanted H2 but you had no PC

So perhaps this is more familiar to those who either were boys at that time or lived in countries where a random family could not afford to buy a newest Pentium II PC, which were as expensive as cars...

It could be that you saw how soemone plays Heroes II or played it in someone else's house and you wanted that experience in your own house, but you did not had a PC - what you did?

I was one of the H2 victims, so 10 years ago i made my "own" H2 from paper sheets:

Well now, how many of you at that time without a PC did something similar?

Actually, I did.
Although, in my case it was in the times of HoMM 3. I didn't put so much effort in it, but I did try to think of different Heroes-based mini-games to keep me entertained.

We had a battlefield, something like this:

We had our monsters - i drew them in a sheet and made paper-like images of them placed in a battlefield.

The money we used in the game was from the game "casino".

I don't realy remember how the hit points and damage were calculated, but i do remeber having a calculator.

Our Heroes were chess figures.

Experience was gathered just like in the game and after killing enough monsters, you could gain a secondary skill - something like a horse chess figure that allowed to move through the map more advanced or a king figure that allowed to teleport 1 radius square or gaining a spell book which allowed to to simple damage spells in the battlefield or gaining a secondary skill that allowed a movement bonus, tactics in the battelfield or an additional turn in the game field with these:

That is awesome. I really need to do something similiar, but maybe with a hint of RPG? The fun would be eternal.
