Happy new year!

@antipaladin
Orthodox new year... It comes about two weeks later than the "ordinary" one, since Orthodox (Julian) calendar is different than the Gregorian, used more or less everywhere else. That's why Orthodox Christmas comes at the 7th of January. I thought you'd know that, since you lived in Russia, right?

Well, in Russia we call "Old New Year". That's because a long time ago they switched the new year to Jan. 13th instead of Jan. 1st. but then they switched back for some reason, but we still want another holiday for 2 reasons, #1- You get to miss work, school, etc. #2- Russian people like to get drunk!!!

Penalty applied

I stated a fact. I demand that you undo the penalty! How many times did antipaladin make a 'joke' and he never got a penalty. I am stating a fact!

You demand?

That really doesn't work for me.

Antipaladin asked that you stop yelling at him after your initial bolded & caps lock comment - you replied with another, and then added in parenthesis that you were yelling... the post was made clearly for no other reason than to provoke further arguement.

I will not remove the penalty.

With regards to Antipaladin's "jokes" he has been penalized in the past, and has received warnings. But either way, you should concern yourself with your own conduct - not his.

So you really didn't read what I wrote or what he wrote. If you still insist on giving me a penalty, give one to him also. And if you dont want to do that, remove my penalty. And if you don't want to do that, I'll have to say 'goodbye' to this forum.

I think it's a bit exaggerated...

If, actually, you're referring to this:

Quote:
THINK AND READ BEFORE YOU POST
Personally I have no idea how this can be a "provocation" (but that's just me), I think the Vidoja stated in the first post something like:
Quote:
Happy new year to all ortodox belivers!
So I definitely don't get the point of "provocation" in telling someone (e.g antipaladin) to read more carefully the post's meaning. I have encountered many such replies in which the one who replied did not read the main subject clearly, but that's pretty common, nothing to be wrong/ashamed or feel bad. And the simplest and best (in my opinion) answer from a decent replier would have been:
Quote:
Sorry, i did not know what you were talking about
, not something along the lines of:
Quote:
yell at me again and i'll smite you.
(which is also a small insult)

Of course, I do not understand why both of them have heated so much from this, apparently, friendly thread's content, but it seems to me like they both deserve only a warning at least. IMHO a penalty is just too much.

btw: what's wrong with 'yelling', when in fact, it's only some bold and CAPSed, normal text? at least in the first quote I gave, it doesn't seem at all like some "provocation" or "insult", rather just informing anti to read the thread more carefully. No one has ever given me penalty in any other forum for this because I couldn't read the thread correctly (of course I apologize thereafter), and neither for informing the one who did such an 'error' to read more carefully (obviously without bolded CAPSed text, but is it so special anyway?).

but perhaps that's how I think, no need to get angry at me for that

I appreciate your input.

The penalty was not applied to the first post, but to the second where he made a point of trying to further the arguement with Antipaladin.

The penalty given was not because he used caps - this can be an annoyance to some, but has never been a reason for penalty here

I don't really see how threatening to "smite" someone could be perceived as anything but a joke - but Vidoja's reply was consistant with the tone of posting he has demonstrated throughout most of his 'discussion' recently.

He chooses to insult, and engage in arguement - rather than post in a respectful manner.

Had this been the first example I'd seen of Vidoja trying to start an arguement by posting rudely towards another, it would likely have only received a warning. But it is not - and as I've already stated, I stand by my decision.

Please don't worry that I'll be upset at you for disagreeing with me, that's never been my way - I welcome any constructive criticism. Its the demands and attacks that i am not overly fond of

But, then again, if you knew, you could consult the wikipedia or something, would you really beleve that I made a new thread 14 days later on? I would get a penalty for that, do you think that is funny? Obviously, moderators were on your side (before and now).
