Logical, but...

Yes, it's logical, but I didn't know earlier those parameters even had effect on template-based RMGS. I thought the template governs the whole process of generating the map.
As for the size, I just leave it 10 to 200 and then specify a size as big as I please (maybe excluding the two grandest sizes, which I haven't yet tried intentionally).

Does anybody know what UpgBuildingDensity variable means?

UpgBuildingsDensity

Allows adapter buildings and modifier buildings presence in the zone for heroes's statistics.

Larger the value is, more is the possibility to have powerful buildings. However, that can have effect to double certain buildings of values smaller.

Here is the list of the values and the buildings which these values make possible their presence:

50

Dolmen du Savoir

60

Camp de Mercenaires
Crystal de Révélation
Hutte de Sorcière
Planétarium
Tour de Marletto

70

Collège de Magie
Ecole de Guerre

110

Arène

210

Autel Sacrificiel
Bibliothèque de l'Illumination
Mentor du Souvenir

I'm sorry not to have translate the names of the building

Each one his turn to make an effort!

you can try to read this topics that has full informations concerning
templates and RMG:

DrIstvaan: Thanks! I didn't expect someone to thank me after delaying development.

I still plan to come back to this project as soon as I return to playing HoMM5 again. I love this game, especially in a full weekend hot-seat session. Unfortunately I haven't had time to play games in months for now and I this probably won't change for another six months. Real life keeps me busy.

Yet one more thing

It's no problem that you've delayed further making this tool; it's great as it is now.
I have one more question, though. Is it possible to make "allied" RMGs with this template-editor (or somewhere in-game)? Thus, p.e., on a 4-player map, player 1 and two would fight against 3 and 4. Or do I have to edit the produced map manually to edit alliances?
I suppose so, but I'd like to know it there's an easier way for that.

the proprieties's templates mechanic doesn't allow to create
"alliance" between players for the map.

This information is contained in the file "map.xdb" for each map.

Thank you, now at least I know I'll have to do it manually.

1.The player, who will load the save, should open the file of the map (all homm5 mapfiles in fact are zip files that contain a bunch of folders). To do this you can use, for example, winzip.
2.Go to the place where files are stored (if you are doing it in winzip, path can look something like: mapname.h5m\Maps\RMG\5305-2002-1327-1705 - ZIP archive, unpacked size 4 489 481 bytes).
3.Copy all those files (there are something like 10 of them).
4.Then go to folder "RMGTemp" and go to the files there.
5.Replace all files there (in the "RMGTemp" folder) with copied ones (the ones from the map file).
6.Send the "RMGTemp" folder to the second player (most likely, easiest way to send it would be to zip or rar it before sending).
7.Send the map file to the second player.
8.Second player should replace both - "RMGTemp" folder and map file -with recieved ones.

Use search please.

Can you compress your file in a .zip or .rar, please?

It's possible that the format of the file change while transfering.

Then, save the template with the template editor and immediatly after compress it in .zip or .rar before the upload!

I know that may be weird but I need of these steps.

I added it as edit:

So, no doubt, the editor is more stupid again.

but if you go in the RMG in the game, you will see your template.

Make it from the game and open it in the editor after...

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

I remember!!!!!!

Editor can see just mod in data folder with .pak extention!!!!

rename your file Template.pak instead of Template.h5u ... and put it in data folder instead of UserMODS folder...

in theory, so you will see in the template list in the editor
