worst (in duel mode) : sylvan and fortress because of their racial skill
dangerous too : haven, very strong army, dungeon, awesomely powerful spells.
stronghold is either invincible if he manages to gather blood rage, or dead
academy usually have powerful spells but a weak army
necropolis is usually quite average, unless the opponent has a good strategy of course
apart from level 6 / 7 units, inferno isn't too dangerous.

Favourite: Necropolis
Worst: Maybe inferno because of range retailiation

I've only played against AI up till now so my opinion probably doesn't count, but whatever
worst: Haven, can't seem to break their defense. Also Sylvan, they inflict too much damage before I can touch them.
best: Necro, AI sucks at using dark magic so any ai necro is a pushover.
I like to play stronghold and fortress and also ocasionally academy.

i played map name "A survival war" in heroic and i played necro and vladimir and computer with deleb. armies were equal but ballista managed to kill lot of units i raised those who had fell but the spell also reduces life by 20% and her ballista hadnīt a problem to kill my units once more. I only can win deleb with sinitar.

Best: Inferno and Dungeon are push-overs (most of the time)
Worst: Academy by far
I play with Sylvan mostly, but play Stronghold, Necropolis and Academy as well

Worst: Stronghold by far

Completely agree when I am a warlock. Expert Shatter destructive with its fellow perks render my spells useless, especially they have Blood Rage.
I love to blow up undead

HEY,Haven Crossbowmen or Archers are weak to Pit Lord's Meteor Storm,and to all Destructive Magic.Swordsmen and Peasants can be easily killed by a a very good stack of Cerberi!!And the familiars\vermins can steal mana from the Haven Hero or other heroes Ok,the only seriuos problem who I have when I play with an Haven Opponent are the Archangels!Like Fortress when the problem creature is the Magma\Lava Dragon!

Hmm as a Necro fan i am a lot of people threats a Necro like training bags(and maybe you will say that Necro isn't underpowered )
Ok My favourite enemy is also: Necro, Dwarves, Academy
Worse: Haven, Dungeon

I usually play Dungeon against AI.
Fav: Dungeon, Necro
Worse: Stronghold - Cyclops come pretty quick

Imo it's not that necro is weak, i think that faction does require some skills.
I never play necro since H3, but it is my most favourite faction in H2.

the most annoying opponents are the dwarfs and their runes 
-when playing stronghold surelly the favourite opponent is Inferno, due to shatter-summoning ( weaken summoning, fog veil, back to the void)
worse. academy due to wide range of mana and spells
- fortress: worse: dungeon (irresistible magic); best : haven ( slow inicitiave archers + rune of charge and so on...=P)
-haven: best opp. necro'(weak race( dragons, zombies, wraiths)) worst: sylvan ( high owerpovered archers)
-dungeon: best fortress, worse academy due to magic mirror ability
- inferno: best opponent slvan if you manage to get ultimate gating and urghash's call; worst stronghold
-necropolismy oppinion- every race is better than this-one)the hardest-one to win with, still raise dead can be fatal, creatures hp reduced 20%, puppet master can help a bit maybe
-sylvan: worse: inferno, best: haven
-academy: surelly the best stronghold or dungeon, the worst fortress-.

And thats their weakness because everybody knows what 3 skills the Necromancer definetly have(DM, SM, Sorrcery)and it's because of that easy to prepare for the battle. Their is no big variety of ways choosing skill so that your Necro Hero has a chance to win. Necromancer is hero of Magic & Meat shield bags. and as you saidin other post

I don`t consider Necro weak. I think I`ve only played against it with Dungeon and its insane Destructive spells usually decimate Necro units fast. For example, Ghosts Incorporeal ability doesn`t work.
I`m not sure, but I think Necro does quite well against Inferno, correct me if I`m wrong.

1.Hmm Necro have the fastest 10, 11 Initiative creatures, the Inferno has 16, 13 initiative the first advantage.
2. Gatinig second advantage
3. The Demon Lord can choose LM & DM(LightMagic and Dark Magic) and hit in the weak spot of Necro, the Initiative by casting M.Slow, M Haste. The Necromancer has very few ways to counter(but shurly it's rare to fight with Necro who has LM), the other factions have morale (that gives 50% faster turn)
4. Morale and Luck combination at full possible(undead have no morale, maybe they should give them mood instead or artifical glory like for golems)
5. Emapthy+Sorcery+Distract combo and you definetly cast a lot of faster then Necromancer would ever dream. And the Magic is the main and only force that they can use to win.
So Necro is weak against a demon lord.
