I think to myself, about the possibilities available to me at this point in time. The total number of apprentices remaining in the room is a fair amount. The exits out of the room being sealed make this whole thing even more unpleasant. And that's not even getting to the thing jumping from one student, to the next.
“Detention?”
I gaze around the room, checking the last know possessed student’s position, the location of the students, and how far away from any point in the room they are.
“Let us see if we can excuse them early, shall we?”
I cast vitriolic sphere at a point of a wall that would be far enough away from the students, that they wouldn’t get hit by it. I do it close enough, though, that if it does eat the wall away, the opening would be really close to them.

"RUN!" shouts Onyx as the great demon descends on Azagal and the children. The oldest child, a boy no older than six winters, runs alongside the protector, while his sister clings tightly around Azagal's neck. she begins screams as crooked, spiked teeth inch closer and closer.
She panics.
Her body begins to wiggle greatly as she desperately tries to distance herself from the demon. The jerky movements distract the hero, causing him to trip and crash into the stone floor.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
The demon's mocking is accompanied by the swooping sound of wings.
The demon taunts as he hovers in the air, patiently waiting for the young protector to move. "GET UP! I like my food to get some exercise. Makes the meat all nice and lean." The winged monster looks delighted. A large cat waiting for a poor mouse to act.
"Get up Sarah! GET UP!!!" Tears streak down the little boys face as he tries to pull his sister up. Sarah tries to stand, but yelps; the pain of a sprained ankle is unbearable to such a child. Azagal can only watch as the Demon hovers closer to his prey.
"THE DRAMA! IT'S DINNER AND SHOW!!!" he cackles slowly, his eyes tracing the faint figure running towards.
"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH!" Onyx leaps towards the monster, gripping a Black Blade of Disaster. Before he can bring it down, a mighty claw catchs the Rune Master in mid-air.
"LET GO!" demands Onyx as he struggles to free himself.
The demon happily complies as he slams Onyx into a nearby wall. Several crack appears in the masonary. The demon releases his grip and drops the unconscious master to the ground. The Black Blade falls to the ground next to him.
The momentary distraction gives Azagal enough time step to his feet.

The demon is delighted to see a fellow monster emerge from the warriors skin. Its twsited faces smiles as he looks upon the lupine visage of the winter were-wolf. The surrounding townsfolk are terrified at the sight and begin to flee the scene.
Caring little for Vlad's words, he lunges. Two sharp claws rake Vlad's stomach. A fearsome headbutt follows, plunging a horn into his left shoulder. It jerks its head around, and flings Vlad into the wall of the bar.
"All talk huh... That was ea-" the demon stops and bears its fangs.
Vlad's dripping blood begins to reverse in flow and quickly jumps back into his body, sealed off by the new skin formed over the wounds.
"Looks like I'm going to need a little more to beat you!" Dozens of horns erupt form the demons forearms and chest, making the fiend look more like an evil, walking pin cushion.
*Twip*
The demon looks down at its leg and the arrow sticking out of it. "That's it? That's all you go-?"
Unfortunately for the demon, the arrow detonates, blowing its right leg apart and ripping open a large portion of its abdomen. It falls to the ground, thrashing in pain. Fiendish curses and scream fill the air as bile and blood flow off the exposed entrails of the monster.

I look at the arrow detonation in a state of shock. I take a moment to take out another similar arrow from my quiver and examine it.
"Detonation Arrows? When did I..."
I slap my forehead as I remember the moment I acquired some of the explosive projectiles. Moment of absentmindedness aside, I prepare another arrow as I move to Vlad's side. I will shoot if the demon tries to get up/attack/or otherwise make a move.

The eager sound of flapping wings can be heard as the wall drops. The two warrirors stake out a flank on the fiend and begin to rush in.
"You shouldn't run with such sharp toys. You could lose an eye."
As the two advance rapidly on their target, something unexpected happens. Every single trap in the field--acid, lightning, and holy--rise four feet into the air. Elvin almsot crashes to the ground trying to stop himself from colliding with an acid trap. A floating mine-field hangs quietly in the air. The demon chuckles to himself as he killing field has become even deadlier for Mitsu and Elvin. One wrong step will certainly spell doom for the two heroes.
Fortunately, there is a silver lining. The gentle beat of the fiend's wings lingers above Mitsu's left ear. While invisible to one sense, the fiend seems to have forgotten about the others.

The sphere begins to eat hungirly away at the wall, melting the masonary within seconds. A human-sized hole reveals an exit from the nightmare.
"Urgh!" moans the woman holding the room hostage. "Get it off! Get it off!" She starts screaming as she frantically tries to wipe some imaginary substance off her arm. "Damnit! DAMNIT!!!"
The sight of the woman is quite puzzling. There's nothing on her harm. There is no way any of the acid got on her; she's on the other side of the room.
The other students in the room look around nervously. Nervous faces reveal their fear. Should they run? Should they stay and hope thier teachers can repel the menace? They all have something in common: a look of utter terror and confusing rests on all of their faces.
"Where should we go?!"
"We need to get out of here!!!"
"Are you daft?! That thing will kill us if we try to leave!"
"I don't want to die!!!"
"I knew I should have skipped today!"
A few of them back a break for the hole. A sickly, black bolt fires out of the woman's rod, striking a middle-aged man square in the back. Negative energies ravage his body. The strain is too much for the man. He drops dead.
"YOU CAN NOT ESCAPE ME!!!"

The demon has forgotten about the other senses. It also seems to have forgotten that Mitsu has learned from some of the best. Stilling herself she listens and once she knows exactly where to aim, instead of launching a direct attack, she now turns the traps back to their side.
Telekinesis One of the oldest, and generally more useless spells. Right now, however it has a very specific use. She goes through the list quickly. Holy seems the best choice, she throws the trap at the spot where she figures the creature to be.

Seeing what just transpired, I pull myself up and chortle, "good shootin' Fate."
After I get up I'm gonna try to get some information from this thing before it gets put down for good. "Hurts, doesn't it? So whattaya say there hornhead, who put you up to this?"

I stand still until I hear the faint flapping just above Mitsu. I make no move to avoid alerting the demon and wait for her to take initiative, then I will charge to hack him down.

My spell reaches its destination, and accomplishes what I had expected it to. The reaction of the woman, however, was a bit puzzling. I had not struck her with my acidic ball. Though, with the way she's acting, it appears as though I had.
"What is going on here?"
I look back and forth, between the two. The wall, to the woman. The woman, to the wall. A thought occurs. One that I must act upon, and test out, and see if the results are as I expect them to be.
"Ceres, it's time for an experiment. Watch for a reaction."
I go through the motions, and chant out a spell of Acid Arrow at another section of the wall.

I stay in awe as I watch my students dying one by one. The dreadful creature is indeed succeeding with its evil plan, slowly but timely. I want to save my dying students from demise but there is not much I can do. I am no cleric.
With no apparent reason I felt chills all over my body. Memories from the past have filled my mind. Blurry images are starting to get clear and the eerie sounds are beginning to get strident fast! I am beginning to fall down with my thoughts. I tried to fight it but it seems too strong for me. It drags me deeper and deeper into the deepest thoughts I know I had hidden for so long until I heard a faint sound from reality. Blake has been talking to me. My fellow wizard has caught my attention. With that, I snap out and get back. He saved me from being swallowed by the terror concealed in my unconscious psyche.
“Ohkay,” I assure him clearly, however, in a weak tone while wiping the cold beads of sweat on my forehead that I had produced in just seconds.
But I feel I just can’t stand there and watch. There is an urge from inside me to make move. I don’t want to see another beloved student of mine to die meaninglessly. I have loved them even with the short time we had with each other. There is only one thing about the enemy that is clear for me – invisible. Though I am not sure what kind of abomination we are facing at this moment I decide to get a view of it, whatever it might be.
I will cast True Seeing.

"Take your sister and run! Quick just get out of this room as fast as you can and then go home or anywhere just hide!". Sarah is still unable to move crying and screaming due to fear and the pain of her strained ancle. "I'm so sorry." I whisper as I strike her on the nerve that runs between her neck and shoulder. She falls unconscious. I take Sarah and put her on the back of the boy before he snaps out of his shock. "Now be strong you'll have to take care of your sister now. See you later." I smile at him.
<<"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH">> I turn arround just to see Onyx being caught in mid air. "Xaiii! I have to help him!" The boy is crying still standing there looking at me with hatefilled eyes. I push him towards the door on the other side of the room behind me so that in case the demon wants to follow them he'll have to through me first. "RUN!! JUST RUN!!" after almost falling over he regains his balance and heads for the door leading him out of his room.
"Finally! Now I have to..."

I watch in terror how my one hope of surviveing this mess alive falls unconscious to the floor... I see the headless body of the mother lying on the floor in the puddle of her own blood, hear the crying boy behind me running in order to save his sister, see Onyx lying on the floor at the whim of the smiling demon... the adrenalin rushes through my body energizeing every muscle of my body. Then I feel it again...My eyes turn black and the markings begin to form on my body. I hear the sound of metal hitting the floor. I charge for The Black Blade trying to keep the demons attention on me in order to draw him away from Onyx and the children.

The fiend hardly notices the Holy trap flying towards him, too content with his perfect trap. The floating traps watch on, completely apathetic to the world around them.
"Ironic that you created your own grave yard, isn't it?" The unoriginal quip is the last thing the demon snarks as the positive energy begins to wrack his body. Blinding light sends the fiend crashing towards the ground. The floating traps fall to the ground with a thud underneath him, still primed and awaiting a victim.
Charred by the holy power unleashed, he rubs the skin around his eyes to ease the pain. A look of complete fear washes over him as he lands on a group of mines.
In a brilliant display, the sky lits up. Small sunburts of glorious, acidic, arcs of lightning hugging the body of the monster in a deathly embrace. The triple energies leave a ravaged corpse, smoldering on the ground.
As the heroes watch the horrific sight, shouts can be heard coming from the castle walls. Soldiers have come to inspect the mysterious ligts.

The inky fingers crawling out of the monsters intestines cause several bystandards to start gagging. A few of them wretch, unable to contain the naucious feeling of seeing a body ripped in two. The stench of bile, blood, and Lathandar only knows what leaks from the the mangled torso of the beast.
The horned demon's muffled curses turn into unholy roars as Vlad places a heavy boot squarely on what appears to be one of the creatures kidneys. A few more of the townspeople grimace as the fleshy pouch collapses under the boot, in a disgusting squishing sound. One of onlooking women collapses at the sight.
"DA-DAMN YOU ALL TO THE 666th LAYER OF HELL!!!" spits the demon as bloody spittle runs down it's fearsome fangs. "HE WI-HE WILL... HE WILL KILL YOU ALL!" The remains of the creatures chest heave, gasping for air to compensate for the rapid loss of blood. Oblivion was fast approaching. Rage as he might, death was craddling him.
"Z..Zarf..." The fina curse proves disappointing, as the wretched demon dies with a whimper.

The True Eyes cast by Ceres reveal two spiteful eyes, glaring from inside the wall. A crafty plan was beginning to unravel for the manipulative mage. Breifly cut off guard by Ceres's withering gaze, the demon barely evades the acid arrow. The possessed student clinchers her teeth as she fumes.
"Well, well, well" she says in a eerily calm and calculating voice. "Looks like you found me. I suppose I should turn myself in...OR KILL YOU ALL!!!"
"Oh c'mon!" groans a slender student from across the room. Always a smart-alec, the other students look with shock at the boldness of his outburst. "Can't you at least try to be original with your lines?"
"Shut it!" shouts the possessed student as a bolt of lightning rips through the sarcastic student. His body limps to the floor as the student begins chanting another spell. Blake and Ceres can feel their eyes dialate as they realize she is about to unleash a Wail of the Banshee. In seconds, everyone in the room would be dead.

The hilt feels like nothing the young protector has ever felt before. The smooth black service radiates with a obsidian energy and is chilling to the touch. Even a non-mage could feel the destructive energies emanating from the blade. How the sword didn't disappear upon leaving Onyx's hand is a mystery, but inqueries would have to wait. The hungry demon was not going to wait for Azagal to ponder the methods of a higher power. It could sense the young warrior was struggling to pick up the blade with one hand. While not heavy, the blade is quite bulky for a man with one arm.
After a few desperate seconds of stuggling to grasp the blade, Azagal can only watch in horror as the demon slams into him, knocking the weapon out of his hand.
"YOU ARE DOOMED!" mocks the demon as he glares his fangs. "I AM GOING TO EAT YOU, THEN THOSE LITTLE KIDDIES COWERING IN THE CORNER, AND THEN EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS DAMN CITY!!!" A fierce swipe sends Azagal crashing into the wall next to the balling girl and her big brother. The demon laughs as he approaches, licking his chops with a sickly green tongue. Before he can do anything else, the little boy stands in front of Azagal, arms extended outward.
"You'll have to get through me first!" shouts the boy. While his voice is strong, the conviction behind them is not. His efforts were futile.
"OH! WE GOT A LIVELY ONE HERE!!!" bellows the demon as he plucks the boy off the floor and holds him above his hungry mouth. "FOOD ALWAYS TASTE BETTER WHEN IT PUTS UP A FIGHT!"
The kid struggles frantically as he is lowered closer and closer to the gnashing jaws of the fiend. Hundreds of razor-sharp teeth awaited to rip the boy to tiny morsels. The screams of the echo the loudest when the demonic maw clinches entirely shut. The muscles bulging from the demons face tense up as his flicker shut. He grunts as his free arm yanks a dagger out of his shoulder. He spins around to find two figures standing on the other side of the room.
"Tsk, tsk! Don't you know eating boys is bad for you?" a female voice asks as a body walks into better view. "They are made of polliwags, snails, and puppy dog tails. Don't you think that would give a demon an upset stomach, Stefan?" asks Sun as she twirls flips a throwing dagger in her right hand.

After all the noise has stopped I cautiously open my eyes.
"The traps were not wasted after all. Good thinking Mitsu, now let's fly for the throne room. I'm sure that demon was trying to cut us off from the others that will no doubt need our help."

Without hesitation, upon realizing that speed is needed above all else, I start casting the spell of Hideous Laughter upon the possessed student.

Mitsu invokes FLY on both her and Elvin, feeling a bit drained after the spells. Her magic has benifits, but drawbacks as well. The more magic she uses the more strain it puts on her. "We are going to have to go prepaired. Who knows what we are going to face."
She cast Protection from evil 10' radius on both, and grabs the containers with the smoke and continual lights. They might come in handy. "Any suggestions on how else to prepair?"

"I always thought there were better things to eat then kids, my dear, but never was I a demon either", I say as I release one of my magic arrows at the fiends stomach, "Do they taste good, or are you starting to feel a pain in your belly?"

I wrinkle my snout a bit before asking no one in particular, "Who's Z-Zarf?"
After a brief pause, I address whatever rookies are left. "Alright, you may consider today's PT officially canceled. Those of you who feel up to it, go through town, round up any of your fellow recruits who may have panicked, then see if you can render any aid elsewhere. Otherwise, report to the barracks."
After I send them off, I turn to Fate. "We should probably do the same and spread out. I'm gonna go check on Jade and find out where Saphire's been hiding."
As I leave I give the demon's corpse a final kick. "AND SOMEBODY BURY OR BURN THIS PILE O' GARBAGE! IT'S GONNA SMELL A WHOLE LOT WORSE IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE! *mumbling* Stupid demons. I even had a nice cadence ready for the run..."

I turn to Vlad and reply:
"Sounds like a plan. I think I'm going to check up on where Moon is. She may need my help."
I can't help but let out a minor devious grin as I say this. Afterwards, I run as quick as I can to where Moon was last ((I don't remember  )), Shady following close behind.

In the air, the Mitsu and Elvin are given an eagle's view of the destroyed tavern and what appears to be Vlad kicking something hard. While flying, Mitsu finds herself unable to cast the Protection from Evil spell. The strain of casting while flying proves quite difficult.
Within moments, the two land at the steps of the castle. Dozens of citizens burst through the ornate doors, rapidly consuming the two warriors in a sea of terror and panic. Many scream of demons and sorcery and of escaped evil in the castle.
One person resists the tide, a young ranger, pushing hard towards the castle entrance. Fate doesn't seem to notice his companions.

Manical laughter fills the room as the student grabs her sides. The fit causes her to fall to the ground, crying and chuckling uncontrollably. Unfortunately for her, the weak will that allowed her to be so easily controlled also has made her unable to resist the relentless urge to laugh.
Rage fills the demon's eyes as he glances around the room for a new conduit. It will take him little time to find another puppet.

A nightmare. The demon is a nightmare made manifest. Evil such as it only exists in the dreams of the most vile people, plauging thier slumber, stealing thier safety.
Pure horror envelopes Azagal as he realizes the sheer evil of the demon happily feasting on a bloody leg. How a fiend of such size can move so quickly, scares the young protector and no doubt baffles the bloody corpse sprawled out next to Sun. A massive gash adorns her smooth forehead, her blood mixing with that of the dismembered rogue next to her. The lightning speed of the demon proved more than a match for the nimble Stefan.
A sickening suckling dwarves the scream of the children as the monster tears the flesh off the thief's femur.
"A LITTLE STRINGY, BUT IT WILL DO" he says with a bloody mouth filled with sinuous muscle and flesh. He casually flicks the bone aside as he places a heavy hoof on the body. Effortlessly, he yanks an arm and part of a shoudler off to snack some more. At the rate he is feasting, it will be minutes before he starts tearing Sun's flesh from her face.
The black blade hums quietly in front of the petrified children.

Five militia comply with the order and immediately set off to find deserters and aid those in need. In a few minutes, three more militia arrive with torches and oil. The blackened corpse is quickly reduced to a pile of smoldering ash. The stench of the foul remains causes one of the weaker ones to start vomitting.
Jade stands in the doorway of the bar, trying to comfort a sobbing Saphire.
"I-I can't believe.. IT'S... ALL... GONE!!!" the bard laments as droplets swell in her eyes.
"It'll be ok" Jade says trying to calm down her crying Sister. "We'll find you a new bar and new barrels for you to drain."
