'Ki Blast' for Orcs?
From the thread 'HOMM Chronicles' in the main Heroes 5 forum:
These sadistic warriors also gain supersayan bloodrage levels when they get to beat others making them pretty dangerous
This somehow tickled my fancy...
What I'm wondering is this: is it possible to make a creature spell or ability cost Rage or just give a Rage 'Penalty'(which would effectively be the same thing)? I'm thinking Eldritch Arrow, at least at first...Maybe with more powerful 'spells' taking more Rage? The problem is that Rage can go below 0, meaning you could fire them pretty much from the start, at the cost of your damage reduction...hmm...

Is it possible to make a spell an activated ability, then? Or must a spell always use Mana?

You can, if you change the mana cost. 
GameMechanics/Spell/Combat_Spells/*Choose magic school*/*Choose spell.xdb*
and change:
<TrainedCost>0</TrainedCost>

I wonder if the NCF could add in new spells too (probably, technically) - then we could change them to 0 mana for new creatures, and not change the current spells...

I think its highly possible. (At least for dmg spells and Conjure Phoenix)

can you give heroes abilities to creatures?
(I was thinking of imbued arrows for example)
