Factions

Here's my idea/concept of factions in H6 (no anti-firearms bashing please)

Castellans (Human factions)
Heroes
MIGHT: Knight
MAGIC: Cleric

Town: The Castle
Creatures
Level 1: Spearman Pikeman / Halberdier
Countercharge. high retaliation damage against cavalry units
Dwelling: Barracks
Level 2: Handgunner (late medival style ) Musketeer (no melee penalty, uses repeating firearms) / Sharpshooter (one shot per turn with no melee penalty)
Shooter
Dwelling: Shooting Range
Level3: Griffon Griffon Hussar (Dive attack)/ Heavy Griffon (unlimited retaliation)
Flyer
Dwelling: Avairy
Level4: Swordsman Falanges (ballistic shields) / Landsknecht Doppelsoldner (attacks twice, slayer ability)
Tanker, shields fiendly units
Dwelling: Fencing School
Level5: Priest Inquisitor (able to "burn" a stack until the battle ends) / Exorcist (hates "evil" (inferno and undead) units, buff friendly units with more damage against "evil" creatures
Spellcaster, excels in buffs and healing
Dwelling: Monastery (should the name be Church?)
Level6: Cavalier Paladin (healer, uses lances) / Conquistador (shooter with high melee penalty, use pistol and rapier)
Charger with jousting bonus
Dwelling: Jousting Arena
Level7: Angel Archangel (may cast spells) / Seraphim (attack twices)
Flyer: able to resurrect friendly units, hates devils

Structure
Village hall Town Hall City Hall Capitol (ONLY ONE TOWN CAN HAVE THIS!)
Generates gold daily.
Fort Fortress Castle
recruits all units in one window! allows population growth rates per each level. allows town defense
Shipyard: allows building of vessels
Marketplace Shopping Mall (additional gold per day)
Resource Trade
Silo (requires marketplace)
Generates 5 ore per day
Blacksmith: War machines for heroes, required to build certain stuctures or upgrades
Mage Guild: allows heroes to learn spells
Tavern Brotherhood of Arms
Recruits hero, +1 morale to defender
Stable (2X movements on adventurer's map to any visiting hero for one week, required to build Jousting Arena)

more to come

This looks like a good interpretation of haven.

I like the idea of the inquistor burning units, and the way you worked the gunpowder unit in as well.

however, it would be nice if you included the archer in, only because its such a classic Homm Haven unit.

^ mmmm. it means each towns can support units up to 8 levels instead of 7

oops i've forgot....
- Training Grounds... works much the same function as in H5 (plus ability to train special abilities :lol

Level4 will be Archer Grenadier (uses explosive arrows with siege damage) / Crossbowman (ignores defense ability)
Shooter. Scatter shots except grenadier
The following units will have level increment (+1) to the following...
Level5: Swordsman Falanges (ballistic shields) / Landsknecht
Dwelling: Fencing School (Ability remains the same unless further suggestion was made via reply )
Level6: Priest Inquisitor (able to "burn" a stack until the battle ends) / Exorcist (hates "evil" (inferno and undead) units, buff friendly units with more damage against "evil" creatures
Spellcaster, excels in buffs and healing
Dwelling: Monastery (should the name be Church?)
Level7: Cavalier Paladin (healer, uses lances) / Conquistador (shooter with high range (soz i was just in kinda hurry when i'm creating the topic) penalty, use pistol and rapier)
Charger with jousting bonus
Dwelling: Jousting Arena
Level8: Angel Archangel (may cast spells) / Seraphim (attack twices)
Flyer: able to resurrect friendly units, hates devils

Knight's ability is automatically comes with "Tactics"
Cleric automatically comes with "medical". (should it be something else?)

Yes! In order to
- allows more creatures in gameplay )
- allows army formations (thinks of Heroes 4 but with war machines)
- allows more size classification (and you will understand how the REAL gigantc unit should be )

NEXT race

Demons (plus human followers )

Heroes
MIGHT: Demonlord (automatically comes with Offense, Buffs + damage against Castellan (and other "GOOD") creatures)
MAGIC: Summoner (comes with "Clone" (or something similar) spells.... automatically comes with FIRE and EARTH spells (creates Magma spells )

Creatures
Level1: Imp Familia (sucks more spells from foe and shares to every friendly spellcaster in the battlefield) / Igniter (manaburn, sucks enemy mana and turn this to "burn" an enemy stack when attack (for a duration of time)
little demon, steals mana from enemy hero (or random enemy spellcaster) and gives it to friendly hero or spellcaster) excepts igniter
Dwelling: The Crucible (better name please )
Level2: Cultist Fanatic (always have a good morale, no morale debuff possible EVEN teamed with UNDEAD! / Terrorist (chances to inflict "fear" debuff on enemy stack)
Shooter, uses either harquebus or musket, human.

Dwelling: Hell pit
Level8: Devil Archdevil / Royal Devil
Dwelling: Forsaken Palace

Hey! Wasn't the 8 creatures in a town my idea? See http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=8474&pagenumber=108
...but its such a sensible idea a couple of people might have thought of it before me. If not, make sure you include me in the Credits section if you ever get this implemented into H6 Anyway I actually THOUGHT of the idea in 2006, I just posted it a couple of years later.

Anyway, nice ideas, I like them. So many people have so many thoughtful ideas...

Well, Its been a while since I've "examined" anybody's faction ideas. I think I've done Landsknecht before, but why not have another go?

-Some of your names are TOO grandiose. Like "Landsknecht Doppelsoldner" (although changed).
-Some of your names are on the opposite side of the number line: Shopping Mall?  Dreammare? May I suggest:
Shopping Mall Agora
Dreammare Horror Mare
Succubus Witch- Succubus Matriarch
- Some are perfectly original and good: Griffon Hussar, Brotherhood of Arms, Styghound, Pillars of Unholy Power
- Your units are rather bland. Guess that's what happens when they're balanced.

MISC.
-Falanges Phalanges?
-(able to "burn" a stack until the battle ends), Desecrator / Ravager- I see you've taken me advice.

^ there's something to be edited....
- Landsknecht means. Footslogging knight (actually they are german mercenaries initially appeared at the final days of middle ages). usually cladded in full armor, dresses in fancy outfit, uses various weapons. however, their "symbol" is.... a very big sword which only be wielded with two hands! that means they have to forego a kite shield (or at, lease, reduces it's size into smaller arm-guard)... that DOESN'T mean landsknechts forego defenses. but it means this time they were trained with sword grandsmaster (who can quickly "block" any incoming strikes.. even projectiles (arrows, bolts, and even lead balls!!!!!) with his sword instead of shield). in addition. Landsknechtes are trained to uses big swords to "mow down" enemy pike formations !!!!!..... in this case. this "Swordsman" upgrade uses great sword. Doppelsoldner is also a sup-category of landsknecht specially trained to utilizes greatsword. which name should be used? Landsknecht ? OR Doppelsoldner?
- Fanalge is spanish word for Phalanx, this swordsman upgrade uses sword and (big) shield as normal. (should it be Rodelero?, Legionaire, or Esquire?)
- Thanks for Agora for a better name for Shopping Mall
- And thanks for better name of two hellish creatures... Horror Mare and Succubus Matriarch
- And so do your previous advices on Inquisitor and Desecrator / Ravager
- Which units are bland and requires ability/name changing?

I meant towns that were actually CREATED in heroes. If you flashback to heroes' 1,2,3,5... none of the towns had 8 tiers. Except maybe Neutral in H3, but that wasn't a real town.

Next race
The Undead
* These units are extremely prome to "light" spells, but immune (or at least.. highly resist) "dark" spells designed against "living" creatures
* These units HAS NO MORALE! (since they are no longer "lives" as living things, although some of them has minds of it's own, many of them are slaves with no will to resists against necromancers
* Vampires MAY NO LONGER classified as UNDEAD because.. in some universe, they are certain kind of life forms that REPRODUCTS like humans .. (unless you said it's actually undead)

Town: Necropolis
Hero:
MIGHT: Black Knight (has tactics. may causes fear on enemy when attack)
MAGIC: Necromancer (ONLY rightful hero who comes with Necromancy)

To be continued

@Landsknecht- Its not that their needing changed, but rahter they're balanced with nothing interesting. I wasn't meant to change them. Really you've done a good job. Just impress me with the Necropolis!

PS- ¿Falange es español? Hmm, never heard of that. Why not just use Phalanx? Greek infantrial names sound cool.

Ah, but you couldn't just build the Supreme Sky Alter or something like that and BUY supreme archangels. You either turned on the 7th lvl upgrade -> 8th level gimmick, or you found a dwelling. I meant actually having 8 LEVELS PERIOD.
But I doubt that im the only one with this exact idea, so I take your point. None taken.
