Mark shakes his head. "Doing that could overload the arms battery or fry out its circuits or blow up a motor or... well, let's just say that the best way is just to use solar power." He crawled in to the cave, keeping to the walls. "I'll probably be the one that wakes us up... I can't really sleep on rocks..." Mark muttered when he reached the spot he would be sleeping. "Good... night..."

Despite his words, Mark quickly fell into a shallow sleep, just deep enough to make sure that he wouldn't be tired in the morning, but not nearly deep enough to be clear-headed or ready to run for long distances.

((On the subject of running, Mark did rather allot of that today, didn't he? Someone is going to be a little stiff in the morning because he forgot to stretch... ))

Stacey:

Ivan nearly falls into the spring from startlement. "So far so good," he replies once he recovers. "I checked and they don't have a healing machine here, just the hot springs. It's taking a little longer than I'd like, but it's working."

----------------

Mina:

"Okay, never mind then."

Mina adjusted the shirt she was using to absorb the blood (it was the same shirt she'd been injured in, so no real loss) and settled down to sleep herself.

----------------

Mark and Mina:

Just before sunrise a large swarm of Zubat come streaking in the cave entrance. Other than that the party rests without interruption. The battery in Mark's prosthetic arm has died completely during the night and Mina awakens to find the gash on her ribs is warm, and more sensitive than it had been.

"Alright. I was getting a little concerned. Well, give it ten to fifteen more minutes. I need to go check on Sandshrew."

With that, she heads back out. She thought about exploring the building, but wasn't too sure that was such a great idea.

True to his word, Mark had been the first up and felt every second of it. The young trainer groaned, stretching and rubbing exhaustion from his eyes as he made his way to the cave entrance, hoping to catch the first few hours of dawn so that he could recharge. Once outside, Mark lifted his prosthetic limb up and flipped a panel that held a solar cell. Turning this, he caught as much of the morning light as he could. Of course, this did nothing for the stiffness. If only he had some ice... Facepalming with his one open arm, Mark sent out Lapras.

"Hey buddy," He said to the ice-water type, "Do you think that you can make a small ice shard for me?"

((I'm guessing that, since we rested, all of out pokemon are more or less recovered.))

Stacey:

Ivan nods and you head back out. About fifteen minutes later he joins you outside and gives you back your Pokemon.

((HP update after the hot spring:

Stacey
Luxio: 60/60
Grimer: 51/68
Slugma: 58/58
Mona: 31/62
Snorlax: 112/127
Raticate: 52/58

Ivan
Shambox: 48/65
Spearow: 52/52
Arkhiti: 43/58

Sandshrew: 41/44 (Shadowed: 86%) (Asleep)))

----------------

Mark:

((Correct. It takes about 3 hours of rest for Pokemon to go from unconscious to full HP assuming no major status effects (ex: Burn). I will note stat damage like Ariados sustained takes longer to go away, as do most status effects.))

Your Lapras noses you with concern and creates some ice for you. It's overcast ((this is the same day Misty woke up with her broken arm)) so the solar cells take longer than usual to recharge.

----------------

Mina:

Mina awoke, feeling likewise sore and a little off. On top of the rather stressful circumstances, she'd had the door dream again.

Grumbling internally about Bandra she dug out a big bag of pretzels she'd retrieved from the boat wreck (miraculously unopened and unspoiled) for the trio's breakfast along with the other prizes she'd found. That lasted until she bumped her ribs and had to retrain the unexpected urge to swear—ow.

Moderately concerned, Mina took herself off to a private corner to inspect the injury by the light of her Pokedex. Careful prodding determined that her first impression was correct: it was getting infected. Mina grimaced to herself; there was nothing she could do about it right now. She'd just have to hope it didn't get any worse.

Mina replaced her bandages as best she could and went back to what she was doing. There had been a little in the way of useful items in the wreck; nothing to get excited about but a few extra Potions wouldn't go amiss right now. She set the items out on the cave floor and inspected the Dragon Fang she'd found embedded in the hull thoughtfully. Gyarados could learn Dragon moves couldn't they?

Better make sure no one else can use it now first.

"Hey," she spoke up, keeping her voice quiet. "I found this in the wreck yesterday. You both helped get it, so take what you need."

((Boat wreck loot:

2 Potions
1 Antidote
2 Dive Balls
1 Net Ball
Dragon Fang))

They head eastward, and a little south.(around the south part of that green and grassy area) There, they find a place to sleep. She calls out all her pokemon that can use sleep attacks so that they can take shifts in making sure Sandshrew stays asleep, and not run away.

Mark pet Lapras's head when it nudged his shoulder. "It's alright my friend. I will be fine..." He waited until his arm was charged to 50% before recalling Lapras and returning to the cave. I can wait to fully charge it until we get where we're going. Mark had used the ice on his back, head and joints and felt rather allot better now. Sure he was still a bit tired, but Mark was much, much less sore. He still had a bit of ice as well... Smiling mischievously, Mark used the light of his pokedex to find Tomas, who was still sleeping, and tossed the flaking piece of ice at the older man's body. Unfortunately for Mark, and Tommy, the tired young trainer's aim was slightly off.

"Son of a ****!" Tomas cried when the ball of ice exploded in powder on the left side of his face.

Mark ran over to the pile of stuff Mina was making, meekly looking at the items. "Uh..." Now look like you didn't do anything... "can I have the net ball, a dive ball and a potion please?" Hopefully this would fill up some of the empty space in his bag.

Tomas trudged over, eye twitching. In his left hand he held the remains of the ice ball, compacted again so that it was more of a snowball this time. "Which one of you kids... thought it would be funny... to hit me in the face... with a ball of ice?"

((Mark slapped the sleeping bear. ))

Stacey:

((Encounter roll = 46))

It's about 5 AM when you finally find a spot to settle down for the night. You manage to sleep, although there is a close call with a Bandra patrol around 8 AM—they seem to be ranging much further now that Ternai Town has been recaptured. ((I'm assuming you're still in uniform, so you have the option to fight them or not. Pokemon are now all at full HP BTW.))

----------------

Mark and Mina:

((Woot! ))

Mina was sufficiently preoccupied not to pay much notice to Mark's snowball attack.

"Uh...can I have the net ball, a dive ball and a potion please?"

"Go for it," she replied, pushing the items toward him. The Starlight Squad member stormed up in the mean time, looking very annoyed.

"Which one of you kids... thought it would be funny... to hit me in the face... with a ball of ice?"

The question was so ridiculous under the circumstances that Mina giggled. The Squad member glared.

"Don't look at me like that. Here, take a Potion." Mina threw the Squad member the remaining Dive Ball as well; she did need more Pokeballs (being down to five of various types), but she had a full team of six and neither of her current companions did. Mina grabbed the Dragon Fang instead and the Antidote and stuffed both in her pack. Eventually she hoped to find some Pecha (or better yet, Lum!) Berries and pass over the healing items all together, but until that happened she wanted to be prepared—

Her thought process was interrupted as the snowball clipped her shoulder. "Hey!"

Stacey thought about sending out a message to the others, but decided against it, due to the message she received before.

"So, you think we should continue on southeast, or maybe we should check out the town south of here? We may be able to get some information, if we can keep up appearances. Though, we may be able to find more pokemon off the path. Something to add to your force. Maybe for me too, but that wouldn't be of immediate benefit. Of course, we could head to the town south, and stay off the path in doing so. Though, Sandshrew could be a problem in its current state. Maybe we could find a pokemon for you and see if we can work off some of this shadow from Sandshrew. Yeah. I think that's what we'll do first."

And so, they head off in search of a pokemon for Ivan, and a place to 'train' for Sandshrew.

Lapras provides ample ammunition and shortly all three trainers are engaged in a furious snowball fight. By the end all three of you are soaking wet and shivering with cold, but it was a blast getting there.

----------------

Stacey:

No sooner do you start looking than you spot a Sentret, dashing away at speed and calling a warning in a high voice.

Sentret: 44/44

((Really good encounter roll BTW.))

The one you've already spotted, however, decides to take a stand.

Mark sat back, a piece of snow plopping from his head into his lap, smiling and laughing. "Thank you, Lapras." He said, turning his grin to it. "I had allot of fun. Have a nice rest." Recalling the pokemon again, Mark brushed the rest of the snow out of his hair and shivered. "We should probably, you know, change into something dryer and get on with our adventure." He mumbled, looking into his bag to find a new shirt and pants. "You guys... did... bring... another change of clothes... right?"

"Yes, thank you Lapras!"  Mina chimed in before the Water type was recalled.

"You guys... did... bring... another change of clothes... right?"

"Of course I did," Mina replied, "So excuse me if I kick you boys out while I change."

Mina also began digging through her pack for the aforementioned clothes. (And winced, as her ribs tweaked her yet again.) She was down to one wearable shirt again until the red one dried, and she'd have to switch over to her other pair of jeans for the time being unless she wanted to wander around the Helnith countryside in her pajamas, which she did not. She really needed to get some new clothes...most of what she had left after the fire had been old and worn before this mess had added tears and bloodstains to the mix.

Mark changed into a black shirt that had many cartoon pokemon on it the words, "Take me to your trainer" in large, bolded red letters. He also changed into a pair of grey cargo pants. The extra pockets could come in handy sometimes. He yelled into the cave, "Are you ready to go, ah... Mina?" He had apparently forgotten her name for a few seconds there.

Mina responded by walking out, now dressed in another T-shirt (this one a faded teal) and dry jeans. She squeezed a little more water out of her vest, considered it for a moment, then stuffed it into her pack where it wouldn't get anything else wet.

"I'm ready. If both of you are too then let's go."
