"Not unless the Pinwheel Forest became part of Sinnoh while I was on my way here!"

Didn't think I was going to make it? I must've missed that warning! Still, it wouldn't change a thing.

Mina didn’t know offhand if that was in Unova or not, but that was close enough to a ‘no’ that she relaxed a bit more; she could look up the specific area later. She smiled. “Sorry, must have misremembered. Glad you could join us!”

I wasn't particularly thrilled at the random interruption but I stayed quiet and waved back at the young woman and attempted a smile.
"Ah yes, hello there. Now, Miss Mina, with all due respect I insist you keep your belongings. I insist upon this..."Gosh what IS it, a favor? A mistake made? Yes that sounds about right. I think to myself as I clear my throat."..upon the asinine blunder I made at... our adventure to the east." I said pausing, not certain if there were any Bandra spies about, especially with the random stranger coming up to Mina all cheerful. "I just feel like I owe you both, Ranger Wain, and Pellana a great debt. I'm sorry."

"Thank you, I'm happy to be here!"

Pinklady gives a thumbs up, then begins paying attention to their conversation... while taking the occasional look at the battles on the screens.

Looking between the girls, Mark waits for their conversation to finish before saying, "So uh, hi there... Pinklady? Is that really your name? Nope that doesn't matter, hi, I'm Mark, from Johto, nice to meet you." He said, extending his non-robotic hand for a shake and giving the new girl a grin. "We were just about to get to work de-shadowing some of our pokemon. I'm not sure if you've run into many spectral types yet, but that's something that seems to happen here kinda... not often? But more than you'd like. If you needed to talk to Mina while we do that, you're welcome to join us."

Pinklady shakes Mark's hand the moment it is offered. Pretty vigorously, too!

"I haven't seen any spectral-types yet, no! Sounds like I'd better get right into this de-shadowing thing, then, I'm ready to observe. And it's nice to meet you too, Mark! And Mina! Aaaaand..."

She looks at Matt.

As he shook Pinklady's hand, Mark came to a terrible, terrible realization... she was an extrovert. Oh no. Oh Arceus. His poor, introverted self was only just starting to branch out he was not READY-

Pulling his hand from the shake, Mark mumbled, "Nicetomeet'cha" and left her to talk to Matt. Matt would make a worthy sacrifice.

Pinklady pauses for a moment, tapping her head. Then an "aha" sort of look appears on her face.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the woman while thinking to myself, If she only knew the craziness of my past she may understand why I'm not a people person. Yet I smiled back as warmly as I could, giving a V sign with my fingers and replied, "Yes perhaps we may. Might I inquire as to what brings you to this region?"

((You guys can continue, just putting this here for when we're ready to move on.))

Mina waited for the conversation to conclude before stepping in. “If that’s everyone introduced, maybe we could take this outside? I’ve spoken with Mark about some of what I’ve been doing and I’d like to bring everyone up to speed, but we should probably talk about it somewhere less public.”

"Of course! Same reason as all of you, or as Mina, at least. I heard the region was in trouble..."

Pinklady strikes a heroic hands-on-hips pose.

"...so I knew the right thing to do was to take a ship heading here! There were some delays though... that was a month ago. But I'm here now, and it gave me the chance to train some more with my Pokemon, too! So it all works out!"

Mark winced at the pun, mentally groaning and audibly smacking his palm against his face before nodding to Mina. "Yeah, let's... let's go do the thing." Before leaving, Mark swaps Sengar and his Corphish back into his team (depositing Tarr and Jessia once again) to make sure he can get that done while Mina talks.

Once they were outside, Mark made sure to get the shadow cleansing tag from Matt and he equips it to his umbreon, and then he sends out Marick, Fisher, Chevlain and Sengar. Instead of approaching with the cologne while Sengar was awake (like he had yesterday,) Mark made sure Fisher hit the dark type with a Sing and then he applied the vivid scent. No need for even more bandages, after all.

Everyone:

After finding a space outside that is sufficiently far from people (as on previous days, a small city of tents and sleeping bags has sprung up around the tower of Trainer Hill) Mark sets up his Pokémon for Sengar’s final cleansing.

But Sengar isn’t having it today. Perhaps feeling outnumbered, perhaps remembering how well his last fight went, he immediately bolts for open grassland. As this is not unexpected, Fisher hits him squarely with Sing.

And it fails.

Sengar makes it to the grass and vanishes from immediate sight.

“But that was a solid hit…” Mina glances down at her Pokédex screen. “Mark, when did your Umbreon become immune to Sing?! But never mind,” she continues briskly, “let’s find him before someone gets hurt. Pidgey, I choose you! Find Sengar!”

"Uh, he's what now?!" Mark asked, checking his pokedex while sending out Tattersail and recalling his two more immobile pokemon. Did Sengar's ability get changed to Insomnia or something? With Chevlain and Tattersail out, Mark sighs and says, "Alright, let's follow pidgey guys. Tattersail, be ready to teleport us in order to cut him off if we can." Hopefully the chase would de-shadow his dark type a bit in the meantime...

"I'm guessing this isn't what usually happens? Let's go, Leapsey, Bigbug, Whirlywhirly!"

Her Skiploom, Dustox, and Scolipede appear - the last of whom takes the chance to stretch his legs and give the unfamiliar trainers around him a sharp glare.

"Don't worry, Whirlywhirly, they're good! Bigbug, you're Whirlywhirly's eyes! We need to find and pacify the Umbreon that's in the direction that Pidgey is going!"

The Skiploom heads towards Pidgey, the Dustox settles onto the Scolipede's head, and the Scolipede... looks at Pinklady and tilts his head.

"Umbreon? It looks kind of like a Leafeon, but with black fur and yellow rings instead of leafiness. Cut off his retreat!"

The Scolipede nods and begins skittering quickly in the direction of the chase, while the Dustox on his head keeps an eye out - rather, her compound eyes out - for the retreating Umbreon. Pinklady runs in the direction of the chase as well.

Looking on amused I'm not quite certain what to do. Shrugging I pull out the pokeflute and play it towards Sengar. Hopefully it works so we're not losing shadowed pokemon all over the place.

Everyone:

By the time Matt finishes playing he realizes that Sengar is way out of range, and the Flute crumbles a little more under the use ((-1 charge, 4 charges remaining)).

Tattersail grumbles about having to chase after the Dark type but readies herself anyway. Several minutes go by while the Pokémon and everyone but Matt take off in pursuit, until Pidgey finally spots him and calls for the others; he’s some distance away by this point.

----------------

Mark, Mina, Pinklady:

Mark and Tattersail Teleport behind Sengar, blocking off retreat. Mina and Pinklady arrive on the scene shortly thereafter, surrounding the Dark type. Sengar snarls and sets off Shadow Sky.

A shadowy aura filled the sky!

Bursts of light shower from the shadowy aura!

Annnd Sengar was already raging. Fantastic. “Okay, Tattersail, use Lucky Chant.” Sengar was throwing out some scary moves when he was in this state, and Mark didn’t feel like seeing what they would do on a critical hit. “Chevalin, use Powdered Snow.” And after those commands, Mark sent out Fisher as well. The water type would be useful for keeping further stat changes to a minimum.

"Leapsy, try to calm it down with some Sleep Powder! Whirlywhirly and Bigbug, just Protect yourselves for the moment!"

The Skiploom floats forward to begin dispensing her powder on Sengar from above, while the Scolipede and the Dustox protect themselves - the latter flies off the former's head and psychically forms a sphere around herself, while the former curls up tight.

(To be clear, Whirlywhirly's still using Protect, not Defense Curl - I'm just flavoring it.)

"I don't know what it's like when they're shadowed, should I hold back or is it okay to attack!"
