Nah, that's too much trouble. I just bookmark the animes I want to watch and then give my thoughts on them here.

Oh look, Mvass and Tsar are still around!

So did I but after some point I started losing track. Was harder to make recommendations too.

Berserk next updates on winter

Seirei no moribito is great. Eastern mythological setting, relatable characters, female lancer protagonist, good choreography

Tsuki ga Kirei was a good light romance that reminded me of my own love story back in middle school. I could relate to it, to those inexperienced first steps, the anxiety and the thrill of being with someone you love. I wish we got more of these types of animes.

I guess being able to relate can be nice as well. Just watched Koe No Katachi and that brought back some very unpleasant memories from my time at high school, nowadays I can almost forget that I have such latent and deep regrets/mistakes.

Think I might rewatch Shigatsu Wa Kimi no Uso (it's been almost exactly a year since i've seen it). Simply amazing. Lost lot of my 'watched anime' due to constantly revamping my pc I thought I would just remember them by heart, but that's not the case.

Edit: Seirei no Moribito has captured me as well, the characters feel human despite being a supernatural anime. Also I loved how when she was outnumbered she ran away then turned and fought 1 on 1 then ran away again. It shows that there is a good reason why she's as good as she is and it's not because she can simultaneously beat 4 assassins using superpowers, but because she actually knows when to fight and when not to (even if the space between those 2 is mere moments).

Edit 2 July 4: For some reason I happened upon Kuzo no Honkai again and noticed I've not gotten past ep 1, like 10s into it I realized why. Anyhow gave it a shot since it's so well animated, it took a lot of effort to look past the base premise of the anime (the characters do some pretty human things that I've not seen before, the pretend couple is essentially more a couple than some romance animes ever get, but it does it to a fault imho I meant simple couple things like laying your head on their lap). I dropped it at ep 3, love triangles annoy the hell out of me (unless they're solved decisively like in Parasyte), but what you have is like a love ****ing pentagon and I don't think it's stopping there. - Might carry it on sometime.

I mean something like Toradora does the same formula a dozen times better if you're looking for that kind of thing (to be honest I can't really judge it as I've only seen 1/4 of it, but it's safe to say it ain't my cup of tea, gave it a fair shot - Dammit Stevie was reading over the past 30 threads looking for things to watch, then I saw your comment on this, is it really that great?).

EDITTT:

Oh right I totally forgot about this anime I watched (I thought I covered it already in the past but that doesn't seem to be the case).

Finished Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui (watamote) a while back (over a year ago damn mbad). This is pure and utter bliss, I hade the most heartfelt cringes while watching this, I watched it a while back so I can't pinpoint any particular bits, but some of the stuff is so relateable like feeling really happy and congratulating yourself over tiny things among other things. THIS IS ART! To think there is such a concentration of remarkable individuals who have unlocked the secrets of man!!! (speaking of manga/anime that have touched on topics of depth and value while being respectful to the fact that there's much more to Japan than anime). Surprisingly idk if I'm a masochist, no tears, only dreams.

Yea, I liked Toradora a lot. Think it would be my go-to for recommending slice of life, among others. Though how does it work being 1/4 into an anime and dropping it? Aren't you committed at that point to go all the way? At least that's how I feel most of the time.

Meanwhile, the new anime seazon has just started and I'm definitely hyped for Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita and Netsuzou TRap, two highly entertaining anime with a lot of family friendly content. Perfect choice for introducing your close ones to anime
Might be giving Koi to Uso a spin as well. And Kakegurui. Did I mention I'm also watching Dragon Ball Z?

I have my share of stalled manga but I tend to finish anime. Lately I've been reading Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection and it's enjoyable Horror short stories, nicely built up and properly creepy. I'd watched a video on horror techniques based on the medium and the author had a presentation on Itou Junji's work which made me curious to check it. If you're interested, that part starts at 11 mins.

Seirei no Moribito was great. Love the work that's gone into the side characters, even minor ones like the blacksmith. Did I love the blacksmith!

I also watched fate apocrypha first episode and I have mixed feelings. From the looks of things we'll have an awesome war but there was a lot of exposition, many things left vague and not much happened. If the pace picks up it could turn out great, fingers crossed.

PS another character from the Arturian legend, yay

Binged a little it seems, rewatching entire Stein's gate (for the movie) and I've forgotten how this anime really tugs at the heart strings.

Started watching castlevania and I'm loving it

Dracula is properly bad@ss and Trevor is.. fun. I dislike the cgi at parts but the art and animation is pretty good. It looks like a pretty good adaptation.

EDIT:

Short but awesome Looking forward to season 2.

Gonna try Castlevania myself sometimes soon. Still going through DBZ and watched Gantz:0 earlier. Good animation and action, but that's about it.

Update over the last week or so I finished:

-Steins Gate (to refresh myself) and the Movie that got dubbed recently.

These next three I finished all pretty much fall under the same category, once broken down it's the same old formula, but still they were enjoyable to watch and they had their own polished shine to them.

- Rokudenashi Majutsu Koushi to Akashic Records.

- Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai. (MC with an overattached loli, killer End song tho)

- Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry.

Shikabane Hime: Aka and Shikabane Hime: Kuro. It was an interesting ride I suppose, suffers very heavily from the terrible Shiro-esque main character, but this guy really takes the cake lol, I really do get the impression that he is just a total snow, so shallow and when he does act out it seems really awkward (I can't elaborate without spoiling). I'm just so surprised nobody calls him out on it.

Also Finished Fate/Grandorder, did not realise it was a movie lol or that it would conclude a whole segment of the story. It's alright I guess, but the pacing is way off which I understandable I guess, but it didnt give me a chance to immerse myself.

Edit on ep 21 of Moribito

WATASHI KINANARIMASU! Gah I hate looking for anime then coming across a good one only to realize you've seen it already.

Yeah you know the first ep debut of an anime is gonna be good if it comes in uncensored. >.>

Steins Gate and your lie in April deserve a rewatch but I'm giving them some time

Fate/Grand order just didn't leave a lasting impression. I liked what they did with the old servants but the new characters were mostly lacking in personality. And so much exposition! That didn't allow the story to flow naturally nor did they work on personal relations that much. I want to see more though.

Have watched the second episode from Fate/Apocrypha and it is picking up the pace but still, they try to cover too much at once. I wonder if it was intentional that the necromancer didn't want to meet his fellow masters. At that point I was thinking, stop derailing the story with introductions already! I like him, he has good chemistry with Mordred. Also really looking forward to seeing Vlad in action

I really dislike what they did with Frankenstein though. And wtf is it with Spartacus looking like he came out of attack on titan? I am not a fan of berserkers having their reasoning sealed away, it weakens them a lot as characters. I wish people from that class would be more like Guts, able to function but with rage bubbling just below the surface.

I liked what they did with Berzerker in Fate Stay Night and Zero, where the rage ties in with their characters and the development of others even though that revelation comes later on.

Making Arturia/Arthur a woman was quite a nice surprise but they kinda went overboard with the idea of assigning a different sex to heroes/historical figures. Also, what in crickey **** is Shakespeare doing in a Grail War ^_^'?!

I'm trying to find the scene in Berserk original anime and/or the manga where Griffith imagines himself living a normal life with Caska with Guts as a dog (or child can't remember). For some reason this scene was the second time Griffith's character resonated with me on very personal level.

Edit: Nm found it, ep 23.

Finally, fate apocrypha finds a better episode structure. You learn more but not in a way that derails the story or puts you off. In fate stay or zero I never felt overwhelmed with information, if anything I constantly wanted to know more.

Damn, Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyousnowsu e (TV) is actually so good. Makes me wanna read the novel. The MC is ******* amazing, an even better version of Hachiman from Oregairu, if that ever came close. Not even a hint of comedy as the tags describe, but it's definitely better that way.
