You don't want to repeat the one punch scenes too many times, it'll get boring after a while. It's more satisfying to have some buildup first, understand the struggles everyone's going through and then have Saitama delete.

Yeah, but this is what happens when a "meme" series becomes popular. Suddenly you need to add some substance to fill the pages. But the problem is it's not that interesting like in Boku no Hero Academia for instance which also has a premise of building the story around many "side" characters.

Like, what are the odds!?

EDIT: Okay, so after watching the anime, Domestic Kanojo feels like Kuzu no Honkai and School Days had a baby that grew out of the craziness. It's a lot more grounded, actually realistic if you don't add the unbelievable chance encounters. The situation and the family is entirely ****ed up, there's no denying that, but the romance is genuine. Was worried it would go harem at some point, that would've been a mistake. Currently planning on reading the manga and see where it goes, but the anime was solid.

The future is ****ing here: Spice and Wolf VR.

Now for just a small upgrade of some hundreds of euros.

Cool and all, but I would rather they made a continuation to the TV series...

Nonononono, don't you see the bigger picture here? Anime, VR? I can only hope this becomes a huge trend. Well, a trend no matter how big sooner or later. The thought of being in the middle of the action is kinda exciting. They're clearly experimenting, seeing if it'll get an audience. It might be a good time to get an Oculus Rift or equivalent, for all the other VR necessities as well.

Also, yea, Spice and Wolf. Not your average Jump shonen bull. Good quality anime. Haven't heard much about the series in quite a while, so the fact that the author's back at it is a positive sign.

EDIT: Oh, I've read some pages back. It seems Elvin was already onto it for quite some time. I'd really forgotten.

Anyway, I was asked today what my absolute favorite romantic and comedy animes were and I was so overwhelmed I just couldn't choose. I just started enumerating a lot of them, but felt that I couldn't put my finger on one as number 1. There's a lot of reasons for that, mostly because I can't remember all of them and how I felt exactly when I watched, only save for a select few that had a specific impact or I just happened to watch recently. It's an interesting question though, do you guys think you can answer if asked yourselves?

While the concept of VR anime is cool, VR is not exactly good for your health if used too much...

I had not checked if there is any content online but the trailer art somewhat reminds me of RWBY which feels a little off for me. I have great respect for the author so I hope it will catch on, there is so much more to the story that has yet to be adapted. And it just might, as it surpassed the kickstarter goal in like 2 hours.

No time to write too much. Just a quick mention that Working!! series was an amazing watch. I loved all 3 seasons, comedy, romance, OPs and EDs, characters, innuendo, everything. Great ride!

That, and these quotes from the VW. Just mandatory.

Meanwhile I watched Humanity Has Declined and it was.. interesting

The series takes place in a world where humanity is gradually dying out and follows the daily life of a mediator between the humans and the fairies, tiny lolrandom creatures that use an interesting mix of magic and technology.

As someone said [The show presents itself as a semi-episodic mystery/adventure/gag series heavily tinged with meta-humour and tongue-in-cheek references to other works, but it's also a retrospective of consumer culture as a whole, particularly the way it's developed in recent years in Japan. There's a lot of black humour and twisted aesops there for those who choose to read between the lines]

Watch this episode if you want a sample It is not laugh out loud hilarity though some parts can totally get you. Also the deadpan protagonist is a joy to watch.

Alright, I'll add them back later after the page flips. At first I wanted to link, but it's the RT and it's bound to get deleted at some point. Safer with quotes, they have more impact anyway!

You got me interested in that anime, maybe I'll give it a try. For now, I rewatched Koe no Katachi two days ago and it was as amazing as I remembered, wanted to refresh my memory given that romance/comedy question I received. It was really good. I also just finished watching I Want to Eat Your Pancreas which is the stupidest name for one of the best anime movies ever, on par with the one aforementioned. "Living with Dying" would've been a tremendously better name. It was inspiring, hits right in the feels. Reminded me a lot of Your Lie in April. Onion ninjas out of nowhere too. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMN, it was so good... I just leaves you thinking about so many things. That quote especially, "I made my choices in life to meet you!" So powerful and true, it just resonates with me. The choices we make man, the choices we make. Well, watching this masterpiece was a good choice.

Recently rewatched Koe no Katachi, this time with my family members. They were surprised an anime can be this close to the "mundane" world and praised it both for the aesthetics and feels. I think Koe is one of those anime every skeptic (who sees anime as Chinese cartoons for kids) should watch, although some people who aren't aware might find strange how Japanese people behave in some cases, especially when it comes to expressing their thoughts

Inspired by Koe I also watched Pancreas. It didn't leave as powerful of an impression as Koe, but it was a very solid slice of life/drama, and it even had a plot twist that might seem quite unexpected (although foreshadowed if you watch closely). I read opinions that original manga was much better though...

I'd give blob a medal but ghibli tore down that wall a long time ago It's always good to hear that you can share a good anime film with others.

I hear that koe manga is superior to the anime so you may want to check that out too.

Yeah Koe no Katachi manga is good. Can't compare since haven't seen anime though.

Also Ghible tore that wall down? Not really. Disney, Ghibli, Moomins generally all family stuff was a thing for a long time. For more serious stories we'd be looking at something like GitS, for mainstreaming late teen anime, Death Note. And for modern audiences, NETFLIX.

And for those in the know, Aeon Flux.

Not counting my brother with whom I watched anime since way back, and his wife who occasionally also watches it (but not really into it), when I'm back home I sometimes watch animated feature films with my mom (Ghibli, but also things like Ghost in the Shell or Wolf Children). My moms cool, one of those rare older folks who very much likes things like LotR or Avangers movies and does not say things like "this stuff is for kids"... heck, we even sometimes watched GoT together cus I don't have HBO in my place

Your family is either very cool or very weird. I couldn't do something like that, I'd feel self-conscious all the time and not be able to enjoy the anime. The regular incursions in my room are weird enough.

Well, guess it's simply out of the "ordinary". People have different tastes and I enjoy the fact I can share some of my interests with my other family members. For instance I had a conversation yesterday in which wife of one of my friends said that she "doesn't understand why people waste time and money to create such 'kid stuff' like Avangers movies"
