Yeah, was pretty funny and unique. Homeless arc was quite cool.

Definitely one of the better comedies I've seen.
I said lighthearted, but I think I want school romance on second thought.

Alright, Chuunibyou's next.

Ok, so if someone has doubts about CGI in Beastars: the anime is made by the same people responsible for Houseki no Kuni...

I mean, if that's their recipe for success, they're a one trick pony studio. All of their other works barely get a passing grade. Scores from 6 to 7 on MAL. From the synopsis, Beastars can't be that good, might give it a try though.

Also, fully cleared Chuunibyou demo Koi ga snowai!. Not bad, good change of pace, had some funny moments and was overall worth it. Probably gonna check out the second season too.

Danmachi is getting even worse now. The whole motive with Hestia is so lame I'm speechless. What happened to the series which had this dramatic moments with Minotaurs or Giants?

Dude, the titles for the new season are nutso. Feeling kinda excited. But for now will do my usual, watch the ones that end airing. There's quite a few of them.

Yeah, I've made a "must-watch" shortlist and it's already long. And a few titles outside the list seem to be worth at least a try...

It will be hard to fit it all in

Watched orange, a series about a 16yo girl receiving a letter from her future self to help her avoid developing the same regrets. Decent premise, nice depiction of the carefree spirit as well as the emotional issues of that age and a serious case of depression. Started off nicely but it dragged on, even for a series of 13 eps. Characters are likable with the exception of the two main characters that have their share of cringeworthy moments and often seem to lack a common sense. Has some powerful moments though so I have mixed feelings about it. For some reason they tried to explain the origin of the letters but the least said about that the better.

Also REC, a delightful little romance/career story Nice grounded look at relationships, well worth watching.

Watched this Best Anime OP list by some random guy.

While the list is subjective, I must say 2014 was probably one of the best years for anime I can remember: so many of my all time favs...

Yea, gotta make time to watch that one too. Just the sheer number of episodes and the date on it. But one day for sure.

Turns out Chuunibyou demo Koi ga snowai! Ren was a good watch too, very heartwarming. Also funny when it wants to be. I was rooting for a side character, but the director/mangaka don't seem interested in having him as anything besides comic relief (Isshiki). Main couple are taking their sweet ass time, but that weirdly adds to their genuinely pure love. Nibutani and that Deko still just clawing at each other like two stray cats, man can they please get a room already. Good watch, looking forward to further development, the spicier, the better.

So much to watch still. I honestly think that, unless I hit an overdose phase again, this'll take a few years just to catch up on the good ones. It's both reassuring and distressing at the same time.

EDIT: Alright, Skilled Teaser Tagaki-san 2nd Season, the anime where everyone's a winner. Tagaki, Nishikata, the viewers, everyone. What a great watch that was, gulped it down in one go. Had high expectations from last season and I'm glad they delivered. Wholesome anime, one of the best romantic slice of life I've seen.

And I didn't even list you animes over two years old, muahahaha.

EDIT: Nice chapter in One Piece manga (SPOILERS):

- An incident in the so called God Valley was revealed, where an epic battle between Gol D Roger/Garp and the so-called Rock pirates took place (their identities are a treat in itself )
- Yonkou and Gold D Roger bounties were finally revealed!

Hah! I still haven't read that manga! I've mostly been waiting for the right time to 'strike', but so far I've been hindered by my surprisingly robust memory of the plot. It's just no fun when you remember everything that has happened!

Unexpectedly passable last episode to finish Danmachi 2nd season. So the 3rd one's been confirmed for summer 2020 if the rumors are true. We'll see then, cautiously hopeful it picks up from where it left off, which is the actual freaking dungeon run. Enough with beating it around the bush for crying out loud.

Danmachi in S2 failed in everything that it tried to be outside it's main premise: a story about heroic Dungeon Runs/journey from zero to hero...

Kakegurui 2nd Season, cheap gambling thrills, perfect summary. Had some good moments, but overall... meh? It became too convoluted for its own sake. Just mindless addiction hailed as the apex of pleasure, gambling your way in life where everything is ridiculous, the stakes, the games, the players. At some point it became less of a question of what happens next and more of why does it even matter. Kinda lost its hook on me. Would give it a close 7.

EDIT: Date A Live III was good. Couldn't shake the shounen feeling, but the story and action were fairly well executed. It kinda made me want to rewatch the first two seasons to catch up and compare, just too many others to watch so it might not happen. Was hooked at around episode 7 or so that I couldn't put it down. Glad I gave it a shot. Though so few Kurumi scenes... I might want to go back after all. Decisions, decisions.

Damn, Fall barely started and there are already two fine Isekais. And I mean really fine. Hataage! Kemono Michi is about a wrestler (!) who loves animals. First thing he does after getting to another world is... suplexing the princess who summoned him cus she asked him to "kill beasts" As you might've guessed he actually befriends monsters instead of attacking them. The series has some really cool and cute character art, and looks overall fine.

Shinchou Yuusha is about an OP hero who is... extra cautious. First thing the series does is that it breaks the 4th wall. Its animations remind me of Kill la Kill, it's well done and funny.

Way to start off a new season

Finished Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken. It was good overall, but felt lacking in the end. Too much goofing around, too little intensity to the action. Whenever I see such isekai, I just can't help but wonder how much better they would be if they took a page out of Attack on Titan for example. It started off well, guy gets stabbed to death and gets reincarnated, good premise, good setting, characters with potential. And then all off that went to snow, mostly after Shizu and Ifrit episode. It was just so childish and trivial I couldn't muster any interest. Orcs and lizzardmen arc was the lowest point for me. Not exactly looking forward to the second season if things end up being the same.

Jormungand -
Loooved it, people complain about plot armours and such, i only felt it be insulting at one point, but it never drew me away - it's that great. Each bodyguard and character has their own unique personalities that never reveal too much about them... well except Lutz, but that's prolly because you see everything from the protagonist's point of view. And this kid is everything I could ask of a protagonist, right off the bat he is brilliant.

The Quintessential Quintuplets -

At first glance a well crafter harem, but they confirm that he essentialy ends up with one of them, so still a harem, but it adds that special assurance that most animes in the genre don't. That the MC is surrounded by the potential waifus, but ithey drag inconclusively on for so long without ever knowing if he ever actually ends up with any of them. Well in practice this anime plays out pretty much with the same niches due to the assurance it feels more like a 'how I met your mother kind of thing' where you know with certainty that he ends up with someone. I digress, as I said it's well crafted imho and the quintuplets are all decent aside from Nino (or W/e her name was). Also two strong resemblences to Nisekoi in there as well which was...odd by not unpleasant, but it drops on you out of the blue, but it gives some valuable background on the MC and I was pleased with it.
