Jormungand was good fun.

And so was Rage of Bahamut: Genesis! I'll just quote a review.

[So here comes this show to finally break this curse by capturing exactly the magic of what high fantasy is all about. A strong sense of adventure, really high stakes, cheesy dialogues, random enemy encounters, unexpected plot twists, emphasis on character fleshing out, and epic showdowns with dragons, gods, demons, or all of them at the same time.]

Has a pretty good dub too

Fruits Basket Season 1 was a pretty good watch. Disliked the ditzzy, overly kind MC, makes sense though for the shoujo tag, not entirely unrealistic. Story was fairly compelling, most character interaction and development felt satisfying, takes itself seriously and doesn't err on the silly/comic relief side which is something I really appreciated. Without a doubt going to check out the second season when it arrives.

Dorohedoro is getting an anime adaptation: trailer.

I've heard a lot of good opinions about this. It's set in post-apocaliptic alternative world, but with mages and occult. It's crazy, it's gory, it's unique and supposedly very well written. The manga itself has been going for quite some time (and is finished). People are even comparing it to Berserk.

Might be worth checking out...

Just finished Backstreet Girls: Gokudolls, binged it in one sitting, and boy I had trouble keeping my laughter, I think my neighbors are going to ambush me tomorrow.

I admit I'm a guy that loves raunchy humour, so that helps a lot, considering the premise of the show, I'm also a sucker for demential humour, which is of course one of the main draws of the show.
The animation falls flat sometimes, but the characters are something else.
Loved it, pair it with some red wine and you're set for a good time..

Junji Ito's uzumaki is also getting adapted in what looks like an animated version of the manga. As in, black and white ^^

Cautiously optimistic. If they cut down on the silly parts it is going to be great.

Shield hero was ok. Started off nicely but it had the most rapid devolution into generic isekai crap I have seen yet. Let's sideline the end of the world stuff and go around peddling and helping people, kill me now. Plus rapid progression from weakling to op like a magikarp using rapid evolution But credit where it's due, the crap period does not last long and things get better immediately after. Even wraps up the season nicely.

Turns out there was even a sjw outrage because of the slavery part heh ^^

The forced harem killed Shield Hero for me.  I get so tired of that nonsense in manga.

That, and also the resolution to the princess and the king's insane behavior. It was the most revolting thing in the entire anime. The build up on that was so heavy that anything less of a death sentence would've seemed inappropriate. And they got a ****ing name change. Ridiculous.

On one hand, it's nice that he was the better man and showed mercy, but let's be honest considering how Naofumi was essentially a cynical punished hero it would have been more in character to have them executed or at the very least condemned to something much more harsh
Well, calling Malty snow is something, but have some foresight, she's clearly a traitor and an eversive agent, she may have "helped" against the big bad, but that doesn't redeem an attempt at seizing the crown, now does it?
I can get being more lenient towards the king, as he was manipulated in a way, but not against the princess.
Not having their heads lopped off is alright, letting them free there after however...

Btw, what ruined the harem to me was that a certain somebody is supposed to be much closer to a daughter, so her fighting with the more logical love interest is meh. Plus having a princess in the harem? And let's not forget the squire at the end.

Why can't they ever stick to a single woman?

You have to look at the target audience:  teenage males.  Having a bunch of women swoon over a guy is wish fulfillment.

Sounds like a pain to me.  Then again, I'm oblivious to advances and would have never noticed it.

I dropped that a few episodes after the Loli chick appeared. After the decent fifty minute opener (not a flawless introduction, too) and the next twenty minutes of mostly consistent storytelling the show turned to snow. Yes, I know, that's a heavy sentence, but it set  itself up as an anime that was worth judging differently than your generic isekai/moe trash. It's just natural that I use harsher criteria. Well, at least initially it seemed that way.

I hate all these damn fantasy/video game/another world anime that catch your eye with an interesting premise and then proceed to become the same boring powerscaling d*ck-meausuring 'it's actually just a harem show with some badly animated battles strewn about' snow.

To be fair, I loved the opening, it was quite brutal to have your usual iskeai turn into the hero being persecuted after being framed for rape, of all things. And also the fact that he was a cynical piece of... Making him get a slave as a companion since he had no offensive power.
I also loved the confrontation with the Pope, it was that over the top edgy chuunibiyo stuff that I hoped the show would be filled of (like each time he powered up).

Too bad that they still made him actually a good guy and not a grey character, he still helped people, say you do it for money all you want but it's still acting as the hero.

Of course, the opening was damn good, but a few little moments felt... poorly presented. Like how easily everyone accepted being isekai'd. Oh, and Naofumi's (thank goodness for the racoon's cute way with words, otherwise I'd have forgotten his name) show of extremely bad manners and open disrespect for his peers and the Crown made me wish he was administered no less than fifty lashes. The latter criticism is directed at Naofumi directly, not at the novelist who wrote the story.

Thank you. Was 50-50 to drop at the time but the happy happy travel sidequest ended after 2-3 eps and things started getting back on track. The moment Filo appeared it felt like watching a different series. A wild loli appears, harem is formed, sunshine and rainbows, hero starts getting op. Ffs.

As for Malty, she has a goddamn slave crest. Order her to never interfere with politics or harm people in any way, it's not so hard. First she commits treason, then gets caught in attempted murder and the queen facepalms. Is she comic relief now? Seriously.

You should watch Hataage! Kemono Michi or Shinchou Yuusha then. They deconstruct isekai genre in pretty funny way.

Also I didn't know Boku no Hero could get this bloody. I didn't read the manga in it's entirety so I didn't know that Overhaul was the one one who was responsible for one of the Leauge of Villains members fate...

Kimetsu no Yaiba is a must watch. Supernatural shounen done right, something so rare to come across nowadays. Fights were jaw-dropping, story and pace were incredibly well done, I can't find a single thing to fault it for. Can't wait for the movie and then the new season.

Yeah it turned out pretty good, and its kept it's quality throughout the whole series: great battle sequences and animation. I really would like if they kept making it even past the train arc: Hashira vs Moons battles are great.

Suddenly I don't feel so overwhelmed about catching up on anime anymore. I really have two other series from spring season and then it's the ones that concluded this summer. The 24 episode ones will be on hold until they finish airing. I find this to be a very efficient way to enjoy anime since time's been of the essence lately. Sadly, no room left to explore or experiment too much.

Kono Oto Tomare! was really good. So glad I could enjoy a music tag anime, was having some doubts, but it turned out to be amazing. Genuinely excited for the second season airing right now, will probably wait for it to finish first as per usual.

Weekend soon, switching gears for a 24 episodes anime. And I know the perfect one.

Alright, since I can't contain my excitement. Carole and Tuesday is ****ing lit. I AM ACTUALLY SO GLAD I DIDN'T SKIP THIS ONE. By episode 9 and my mind's just blown away by things this anime does. Definitely one of the most unique animes I've ever seen. JUST LOOK AT THIS LEGENDARY ****ING BULL**** THIS ANIME PULLS. LMFAO

After finishing Carole and Tuesday, I need to re-emphasize just how good it was. If I were you, I'd make it my next watch on the list. It was the best music anime I've ever seen. I'm willing to put this over Your Lie in April, and you can't even imagine how hard that is (might still be a mistake). At any rate, it's ****ing incredible. Netflix association was a real plus in quality. The end was wholesome and moving, and also a slap on the face.
Glorious celebration of music.

O Maidens in Your Savage Season, holy **** that was a wild ride, especially towards the end. It gave some serious School Days vibes at some point, but the production team was wise enough to deter from that and give the anime a satisfying ending. There are actually powerful undertones to it that I feel were insufficiently explored, or at the very least not that well understood. For example pregnancy in high school, feelings of needing to be validated by someone, teenage insecurities over small and unimportant stuff in the grand scheme of things but on account of which someone takes a course of action where they lose something important (or just think they did - confessing, friendship, morals, aspirations). In the end, it was a really good anime, would rate it 9 even, eh maybe a 8.5 on second thought. Had a blast though. AND I NEED MORE!
