Your family is either very cool or very weird. I couldn't do something like that, I'd feel self-conscious all the time and not be able to enjoy the anime.

That's because you watch weird stuff too much

I don't strictly mind though it is troublesome to watch something with another that doesn't understand what it is about, family or otherwise. If it does not feel like a shared activity then it is kinda wasted and may even be distracting.

Reminds me when my mother would make remarks how all she sees is a guy running around and what's the appeal in that when I played the witcher

Your mother is right.
That’s a fair assessment of witcher and I dropped it because of that.

I hate backtracking and fetch quests with a passion but still, the series has a lot of good things about it.

Overshadowed by snowty combat, bugs and endless running back and forth with quests designed just with that in mind to create a longer game.

Three might be better but I doubt I’ll touch it anymore.

Didn't watch it, it's still ongoing. My current strategy is to wait for a season to finish then binge watch the good ones. The only time I follow is when there's highly anticipated ones like AoT or OPM. But since I hear it's CGI, I might give it a shot out of curiosity (I'm not put off by it, it rather gets me interested). Is it good?

MORE IMPORTANTLY, Shield Hero recent episode. You've got to be joking me. No ****ing way. After all they've done, all the injustice and treachery, that's what they got? A STUPID NAME CHANGE!? Severely disappointed would be an understatement. There was a perfect opportunity to raise the bar and it went all to waste. Naofumi went full retard, he couldn't even think of an actually meaningful or significant punishment. Them getting beheaded would've been a way better outcome than his farce.

Fairy Gone is one of those mediocre to solid action flicks. But the premise is actually interesting, 10 years after a world war a government organization made up from people that use "fairies" (mostly at least 2-3m tall monsters) to fight, solves cases based around those fairies and various subversive groups. Imo the narrative is pretty well executed. Watching it I'm having this feeling that there is some solid world-building base behind it, and that its creators know where they are going with it. Graphics are not top of the crop, but it's not lazy and does not drop in quality. Most importantly, it has a cool 20-30s atmosphere.

It's worth a watch at least, somehow it reminds me of series like Psycho Pass but it's less bloody.

When it comes to Shield Hero if, I remember correctly, they changed it a bit when comparing to manga. For the worse...

NHK ni Youkoso became very real, very fast. The way it played out reminded me a lot of how Steins;Gate did things, and it did them better since the setting allowed it (no sci-fi or actual global plots). There's a lot of parallels there. At some point though it became uncomfortable to watch. It started off goofy and then reality kicked in with the impact of a bullet train. It was a tragedy with no typical anime sugarcoating. In many ways impressive, I don't think I've seen a slice of life psychological anime of this caliber before. In fact, I am grateful I didn't watch this some years ago, it probably would've been devastating. Some things require timing, not for the faint of heart either. I wouldn't recommend this to a shut-in or NEET as a "solution", nor to people facing related depression, it would most likely have a bad effect. Some realities are really harsh and difficult to accept, difficult to deal with and move on from, but to that extent the anime is genius. However, I myself need to move away from this mood soon.

Before this though, I actually gave WWW.Working!! a shot and it was good. I preferred the trilogy, but this season had its charm too. Pace was an important factor given there were only 13 episodes, so by the time it was over they had to give everything closure which felt a bit rushed. Well, everything is by comparison which is hard not to draw, but on its own I guess it was still good.

You mean breathtaking. Or rather lost for words? Cuz seriously, there's something so awesome, visually on par with Garden of Words, and then you make such a blunder. Elvin-kun, pls...
That said, I am definitely excited for it!

Meanwhile, I gave The Promised Neverland a spin and it was great. Thrilling all the way to the end with a satisfying closure to what I believe is only the first season out of more to come. It's got potential and I hear the manga's ongoing, so there's definitely a big chance for that. Really looking forward to it. So glad the horror tag didn't prove to be too much of a deterrent, it was mild and only contributed to the anxiety and excitement. Maybe time to watch Tokyo Ghoul, who knows. For now I think I have something else in mind.

Yea, this season's amazing! Latest episode was great, they're really giving it their all to do a good job and follow the manga. One thing that left me wondering - how likely is it that you'd get 3rd degree burns on all your body, fall from an absurd height and barely make it to get another shot at living. Quite convenient, not like I wanted him to die or anything, in fact it made for some good dramatic moments. The standoff between Eren and Levi for the syringe was damn cool actually. Mikasa gave up though, Eren pleaded for his life until the end. It was hectic.

Anyways, currently watching Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei, a weird, artistic sort of anime that has its moments sometimes. If anything, I feel glad I got to episode 6 which was absolutely hilarious, it was so good I watched the key scenes 3 times more afterwards. Freaking Johnny man. "Two soft swells are pressing against the mothership", lmao
Can't wait to watch more.

Release order naturally, the best way to watch the series. Though, you guys only started it now? Aren't you both kinda late to the party? More importantly, does that suggest that the gap in anime culture between us is counted in years? It would only make sense...

I mean, I started getting more serious with anime just a year and a half ago as a way to celebrate my home alone nights, so you could say that.
But I actually had monogatari in the backburner for quite a while at this point, but the sheer volume made me wait for a time in which I could watch it with the least possible interruptions, so that's also another thing.

Besides, after watching JoJo there's nothing more to know in regards to anime culture, is there?

I was considering to start chronologically for my second viewing but stuff happened and it's postponed again I feel lucky that I started a little late as almost all seasons were out and I had steady viewing progress. It is a series best watched at your own pace, there are more than a few things to work in your mind.
