Actually, I've never even checked out Naruto.
The manga isn't as horrible as the show. Or so I've heard.
And I've gained some interest in some of the characters.
Does it hold any value at all?

It's quite good, but not "owns...everything..."
Lately it's been kinda meh, but everything up til that was pretty good.

Maybe after I've gone through Narutaru I will take a look. Something little more lighter will do me some good.
After all, I have a LOT of time at work. But somehow I have a feeling it's fly out of the window after the first ten.

Well, I've read Skyhigh, Skyhigh Karma, Biomega, Abara so I needed something a little lighter.
Went with Lilim Kiss.
Had an abrupt ending.
Left me unsatisfied.
So maybe Naruto next.
Or I'll do a remote connection to my home comp and read Narutaru at work...
But what's all this around Trigun. Is it really that good?

Can only recommend the anime for now (because I actually haven't finished the manga yet) and the anime was just wonderful!
The manga was more popular though and doesn't seem to deviate too much from the anime.

I absolutely can't watch the anime.
Just can't.
The main guy is too annoying.

The Trigun manga is excellent. Blows the anime out of the water.
As to Naruto, it was good until the time skip. Once it got to the point where it was one stupid illusionist versus another stupid illusionist, I gave up on the series.
Sadly, due to how bad Bleach has become, I'm going to stop buying that manga as well. It's just too much effort to care about worthless characters.
That only leaves One Piece, D.Gray-Man, and Fairy Tail as the only manga I buy anymore.

I'm not sure how you'd improve on trigun with more violence/ grit, but I'll be sure to check it out. The first three volumes don't differ in style from the anime, though, but I'll go back once I've been through TRIGUN MAXIMUM.
I know many things would improve, if someone's face got blown to tiny little bits every once in a while, but trigun is not one of those.
