no offical dub has been released for Hetalia but there is a very good fan dub that I well recommend.
alternatively, there is subbed stuff on youtube

Damn, Hellsing is awesome. Alucard is a fricking tidal wave of badassery. It's not a question of whether he'll own you or not, it's just a question of how much he will own you.
The style of vampires is a bit different than I'm used to, and the whole evil nazi thing is a bit old but Alucard is just too much awesome to handle.
At chapter 33 now, I'm gonna spend this evening reading...

I've read a few volumes of Hellsing and I have to say that I kind of liked it even though never before have so many things about a graphic novel rubbed me the wrong way.
The depiction of christianity, the silly guns and weaponized christianity, the weird breast pouches in the police girl's outfits, how poeple look so disproportionate and warped when drawn at certain angles (mostly side profiles), nazi werewolves destroying London (the kind of London you'd see on an abbreviated travel guide of famous places in London), the juvenile and even tasteless content.
With all that and much more bugging me, I don't really even know what I actually liked about it that kept me coming back. 
The juvenile ramblings of the author do give a pretty good insight into that guys psyche. Makes you wonder if you're really that much more sane than he is. Propably not since you're reading Hellsing.

Just look at the gigantic pile of manga that is not there commercially outside of Japan (and that is not counting the porn pile <3)

Chapter 33 of Hellsing. Damn, I'm so jealous. In here, chapters 12-18(vol. 3) have been released recently(damn, what's taking them so long?). Now I'll wait for a year for vol. 4 to be released.
IMHO the publishers(Obuolys in here) need to pause such crap as dragonball or stupid books which are turned to movies(with a slogan "only the best books become movies"), and focus on serious mangas.

I just finished the last chapter of Hellsing, good ending imo. Gonna check the anime later.
Feels a bit strange to read a manga to the end, most of them seem to go on forever...

Watch the OVA's
the first anime adaptation is... Well, it sucks after episode six, where the story line gets a very shounen-like twist... In fact, there aren't even any nazi's or alucard-like vampires (except the two brothers who raid the HQ somewhere around the start...) in the first anime adaptation.

piracy in the south east asia as never looked so sexy.
Black lagoon is a realistic Sennin manga, and is one of that genre that breaks away from the usual rubbish of by being totally cool. exotic locations, badass characters, gun-fights, crime, grit and grime of the south east asian cartels, all this added with copious amounts of alcohol and swearing and a first episode where they DRIVE A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOW IT UP, all adds to a series full of fun.
this follows the story of Rock, a japanese salaryman whose down on his luck before he gets kidnapped by pirates. after saving their lives and helping them with their mission by DRIVING A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOWING IT UP, he joins the crew of Revy, the most badass female protagonist i have seen in a long time, Dutch, basically Marcellus from Pulp fiction with a veitnam record, and Benny, a uni drop out who manages the operation. based in the fictional city of Roanapar in the non-fictional country of thailand, they take various jobs from crooked dealers, organised crime members and occasionally little girls, asking them to deliver this, carry that, move them and DRIVE A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOW IT UP.
the scenery is nice and refreshing, set in the tropical south east asia, which hurts a bit considering that I am in wales where it rains constantly, as well as the combat as well, which invovles knives, guns, rockets and DRIVING A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOWING IT UP. the voice acting is extremely good, with english voices outstriping the japanese by a good yard, and dialogue that feels fluid, witty and extremely cool.
for those who thing it's all action, becuase of the DRIVING A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOWING IT UP business, when the series gets serious, it gets very serious. Neo-nazi's, islamic fundementalists, the mafia and sinister child killers all make their appearence, providing thought provoking villians in the harsh world that this series inhabits, which is very, very rare and all the more reason why this is a good series.
I would hold this up as the Anti-one peice. whilst both are about pirates, portray the life as glamerous and full of adventure, the two are different in tone. whilst One piece is light-hearted and funny, as well as dealing with huge political activities, Black Lagoon deals is sleezy and dirty, with more filth than silvio belosconi's hard drive. the two, however, are equally awesome, because they are big piraty adventures about being free.
oh and DRIVING A F***ING TORPEADO BOAT INTO A HELICOPTER AND BLOWING IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finished Hellsing a few days ago and I must say I was pretty disappointed. Until Chapter 33 it was good, a great protagonist, a new scenario (well except for the nazis) and it was open to lots of possibilities. But then it got reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaally slow. It just goes on and on and on with no new things adding to the story line in order to just show scenes of really obscene slaughter and violence that have lost all sense of taste. I mean the manga was violent in the beginning too but it still had a sense of adequacy to it. After 33 it just gets ridicolous. Not to mention what goes on when they're in London. That's just sick. The last 50 Chapters are nothing but gore and violence without any new story elements or interesting developments oO.
Man what a let down. I had lost all it's charms at arround chapter 50ish but I didn't want to giv eup hope that the story arc would end early or that we'd see a return to old values. Really man... that was just sick.
