He can have Empowered Spells with just basic irresistable, which would mean it would just inflict 25% damage on the Black Dragons. If then the Dragons were lucky enough to go directly after the Armageddon cast there could have been a possibility of him also killing the remaining 4 Griffins.

Ok, but if the Arma killed all the MIGHT (as he saia) army, then it would deal with at least one blackie, don't you think???
And he said that the Warlock started game with two and then attacked with BLACKIES bo Blackie... It is plural so at least 2...
EDIT: One more thing- does defence prevent from being killed with spell???

No. As for the armageddon story it does sound fishy though it's possible that he did not have enough spellpower or just basic irresistible spells as aforementioned. Yesterday I had a valiant battle that unfortunately cannot make it here because it was not humiliating and definitely not a defeat. I'll try harder for next time.

Ideeas: (I've done all of these ) TRY THEM!
Play with necropolis and use Word of light
Summon a phoenix or some elements and next time is your hero's turn use bannish
When you are redy to loose your lvl 28 hero use flee not surrender
Frenzy his one injured imp or any lvl 1 he has
Give puppet master to lvl 1
Uae implosion against one lvl 1 creature. Just to CRUSH it!

A friend of mine shared a good one. He was necro and summoned some elementals. Seeing as the enemy would attack them he put before them his last remaining forces as cover and lost the game. He forgot that when your forces are gone so are your summons

oh yeah, in a random duel I got a knight or a necro with a quite big army and the AI had a dungeon hero with a quite weak army.
I thought it was gonna be easy, but it was sinitar... he casted an empowered armaggeddon right at the beginning and killed almost anyone. I won with 1 or 2 creatures remaining while I thought I would have had few losses.

pff, I lost a random duel against a friend because I got jhora and her spells are bad 
isn't a wizard supposed to have good spells?
and I ran out of mana, thinking a wizard should have a lot of it.
at least she has a big army.

The duels never were balanced Dfortae had made a set of rebalanced duel heroes for HoF but I have not seen him in a long time. He had a very good understanding of the battlefield and a good percentage of victories on duel.
He would definitely not make in this thread if he wanted to

my friend had marbas who doesn't seem bad.
jhora doesn't seem bad either but she doesn't seem specialized enough.
when I saw my hero :
when I saw her spellbook : (ok, at least fire traps and confusion were good)

You can kill him easily -_-

lost a duel with lethos vs razzak (obviously lethos isn't the best vs him) because I used curse of the netherworld and I received more damages than him (I thought it didn't harm evil faction)
I took my revenge and crushed him after that... (damn, how can a golem act that often?  )
(ok I knew about these abilities, but it's really awesome when you see it in game)

Curse of the Netherworld harms every faction except Necro and Inferno
