You must mean Judogi right? Not kimono...?

Nah, I meant kimono, which, in the French and Luxembourgish vocabulary is the same as judogi. I used to think it was silly, seeing as a kimono is actually what women wear in Japan, but I guess I was infected by them frenchmen.

You don't have to do nage no kata at 2 kyu in Sweden? How ultimately unfair. It's hard yet boring, which is a very intimidating combination, but once I pass my exam, I should be able to drop it for a while.

Like Adrious said it's a sport wrestling, like greco-roman or sambo.

This is true, yet so untrue I want to cry. Judo does look like wrestling to ignorant people, but it is far more sophisticated and technique-based than wrestling, which is just primitive.

1. books, reading or writing, i don't mind.
2. manga, love the stuff.
3. performance arts, drama, theatre, lighting. I sometimes rig my friends stage when their playing, its always fun.
4. music and movies. try listening to 300 when listening to "Don't worry" by bob marley and the wailers, it is hilarious. ("This is 'don't worry'")
5. games, especially with friends, especially with the Wii.
6. getting into fights.
7. PARTIES!, drinks, sex, drugs, enough to keep me occupied.

Come on guys, listening to music is not a hobby. It's natural, everybody does it - would you call eating or sleeping your "hobby"? It's the same with music. So cut it

My hobbies:

1. Video games - let's start with the nerdy side of me
2. Naval battles and big warships (small are fine too, but the big ones are much more impressive)
3. Martial arts
4. Cycling - long distances (100-150 km are my favorite)
5. Chess
6. Writing fanfics and stories
7. Body building. Not that I'm good at it, but still..
8. Staring at the stars Too bad I live in a big city and you can never see stars here. Pity.

I used to draw a lot of drawings and short comic strips in the past but I haven't done it for a long time.

Me? For those of you who may have noticed me, here's the brief introduction:

1.DJing. It's my passion. I could write forever about it, just check my sig for details.
And believe me, it makes you don't like listening to the music anymore. Imagine checking about one hundred of new tracks every week, when a third part of them sucks and almost half is just boring. Meh.
2.Philospohy, psychology etc. I keen on writting and saying many wise things nobody understands or even just don't care about. Well, people are not ready for the truth yet
3.Art. Every kind, especially these really artistic works, which are not just another shots of naked women or landscape paintings. Originality  is quality, remember it. And be creative!
4.Playing computer games obviously... it's usually just a waste of time, but damn, I like it

Huuh? They all differ a lot. Some focus on striking, some on grappling. Some are traditional, like kung fu or viet vo dao, some are "modern", like box or kickboxing. Some focus on kicks, like teakwondo, some on punches, boxing and some on groundfighting, like BJJ. My favorite is muay thai.

If "hobby" means something I do frequently and pleases/comforts me or something that I like, then my list is the following (I'll not include listening to music, but main note I mostly listen to movie & game soundtracks rather than 'normal' music ).

Technical Computer-related:

1) Designing algorithms & programming (especially games) (yep, hobby, not job) *
2) 3D geometry modeling (for games obviously) **
3) Texturing (same reason) ***
4) Sound mastering (same reason, not really good at it yet, but expect to be)
5) Anything else game-related (includes writing stories, creativity, etc).
6) Writing articles for my algorithms and explaining them (sometimes I forget them later myself)
7) Playing games (obviously duh!)

Others (in no particular order):

8) Meditating and spirituality
9) Philosophizing (either about the world, or about math, especially calculus, my favorite branch because you need to understand it rather than blindly follow some rules as in algebra).
10) Coming up with interesting ideas for stories (mostly to be used for my game(s) or discarded)
11) Martial arts (though I do not practice yet, but I like the concept (similar to meditation, which is the key to 'real' martial arts rather than sport) & to watch them nonetheless)
12) Admiring & respecting nature (and understanding it, on the spiritual level)
13) Learning and respecting different cultures (and 'understanding' them rather than 'citing' them )
14) Plainly just... thinking
15) Arts and creativity
16) etc.

and I definitely feel bad for abandoning this list as probably there are a lot others but I feel like it's already long enough

EDIT: corrected the numbering, lost track myself hehe

* - Actually I prefer to optimize the best out of every algorithm I use, something which is ignored by most programmers in general (i.e they waste a lot of memory and speed by using brute-force solutions). I know a lot about computers & programming so trust me in this respect, 90% of all software out there is bloated and gets more as programmers get lazier and seek the 'easy' way As far as programming languages I use, those are C (or C++, but I prefer the system used by C, even though I use references, a part of C++, but I do not use Object-oriented programming) and assembly (). BTW I am a self-learned programmer, which is a proof to me that learning something willingly is the way to understanding, not by force.

** - I'm using tools like 3DS Max (but straightforwardly without complex modifiers, just simple cut-split-and-move techniques used by professional artists) to make 3D geometries but I plan on exporting them to a format specifically used for the game (i.e 'standard' formats usually have more bloat than necessary for a particular task, and I'm the optimizer freak remember?). I might incorporate into my game engine some kind of new geometry-type (instead of polygons it uses a different coding mechanism, more efficient obviously). That would require some tool to convert from 3ds but it's not a problem for me (as long as I know the format, which I do since I design it), or written in maxscript. I also use Zbrush but I'm fairly noob in that software so I'm still learning how to use it.

*** - Same as above, but I use PS instead. The key to making good textures it to use your brushes, a lot of layers to add fine detail (some even set at 5% opacity!), and some creativity -- you don't need super-auto-filters that come with new releases (and in fact those are intended mainly for beginners). A digital camera would surely help to get the 'basic shape' of the texture in place, but unfortunately I do not have one right now (but I'm planning on getting one). Note for texturing you will need some manual focusing at least (good if it comes as a ring like DSLR or bridge cameras).

Actually wrestling is divided in five different parts:
*Greco-Roman
*Judo
*Sambo
*Show wrestling (wwe)
*Ethnic styles

GR, Judo and Sambo are sports and all of them are actually highly technique- and speed-concentrated not just judo you know. Only the heavyweights requires great force (ofc it helps elsewhere too).

I've actually done Judo for a few years.

Hobbies:

ongoing:
-fishing (cast, fly, net, icefishing etc.)
-orientating
-underwater rugby
-reading (fantasy, scifi, science, philosophy, criminal and all kinds of stuff)
-pc and games (duh)
-hiking
-mountain biking (not in the mountains though )
-skiing both downhill and cross-country
-jogging

not ongoing or gone
-karate 8 years (wadoryo, speed style for the uneducated, planning on continuing some day)
-scouting 7 years(gone, but hiking with friends or family, often fishing alongside)
-judo 2 years(gone)
-aikido 1 year(gone)
-finnish baseball(on a break because not enough people)

planning on
-iaido
-kuk sool won (not taught in Finland so I'm gonna have to work on this one )
-karate (resume)
-travelling and learning languages and customs

Thanks I suppose

** - Regarding the 3DS max discussion, some people seem to doubt the flexibility of the cut-and-split technique (no, not on this forum). So, to make my point, I'll post a creature of mine (I call it 'cave crawler', it's a spider-cockroach like creature, quite big (same as a Grizzly in length!) with sharp claws at the end of the legs, extremely agile and strong muscles to coordinate the legs flexibly).

Note that this creature has a uniform color (pink-ish, or my working color, it's easier to model this way), because it has no texture yet -- that means it's only the 'geometry' or shape of the creature. Note also that on it's back it should've been fur (yes, fur on a spider, because it's creepy), but as I am quite a noob in ZBrush I'll experiment with it some other time (that's a job for Zbrush from what I've seen!).

All facial/muscles and details were simply done by cutting (splitting) the larger polygons and then moving the resulting vertices and edges, one at a time, as time-consuming as it sounds, I've finished this creature in about 10 hours (and that is from scratch), with all legs being unique and not the same!

So here some pics:

from below, it looks like this:

from above:

I have some other detailed 'faces' but they're not as interesting as this creature (because those are only 'heads'), and perhaps this isn't even the right place (or the right forum for that matter) to post such things (and frankly I wouldn't even want to post as I'm adding features every time and some of them have 'mistakes').

Yes of course it's possible (if you have Photoshop it's quite easy, especially if you also have some sort of digital camera, which I don't unfortunately (yet)). Right now I'm trying to incorporate the geometry & texture into the engine (programming algorithm to be precise) so it looks just as good without requiring a brute-force million polygons

I am a bit chaotic when it comes to my work (i.e not organized), so it could be the case that I decide to make a model, finish the geometry, do some programming, then texture, etc.. it isn't really organized.
