Story Timelines

I had far too much spare time on my hands a while back, so I went and created full timelines for the worlds in which Heroes I-III (Colony) and Heroes IV (Axeoth) take place.  Just thought I'd share them here in case anyone's interested at all.

Timeline of Colony

Timeline of Axeoth

The links lead directly to the timelines, which are in .rtf format and can be downloaded.  All related events from all Heroes games are noted.

Colony is the name of the world of Heroes I-III and Might and Magic VI-VIII.  It's also sometimes called Enroth, though that's actually the name of a continent.

Where do you have all that information? Or is it made up? I never heard of a lot of things in Axeoth and I played HoMM IV!!!

About the Colony,I know I know nothing.

Of course it's not made up.  A lot of it is from Might and Magic VI-IX, a series of RPGs set in the same worlds.

I love thoe timelines. Really. Much appreciated. God, I hate 3do for going bankrupt so we'll never hear anymore of Tawni Balfour or Sandro or anybody (hope I don't offend people by saying so, notice that I blame 3do not Ubisoft...)

PS. When I played Gauldoth in IV I didn't get the impression that it was the world of Colony he saved Kalibarr from, but rather a whole different world - but that Kalibarrs mysterious master had seen Colony post-Reckoning.

PPS. Anybody know WHY Ubisoft discontinued this storyline? Merely to put their own mark on the new game and make a fresh beginning (sorta what IV tried to do as well), OR?

You are probably right about Gauldoth, I discovered the error myself a while ago and have yet to fix it.  But then, of course, how did Kalibarr manage to get there?

Also, we have a theory about Kalibarr's mysterious master - it's speculated that he is Necros, the villain from Crusaders of MM.  Their descriptions fit closely.

I don't know why Ubi discontinued the storyline, but I do know that Nival were planning to use Axeoth in Heroes V.  Ubi wouldn't let them.

Also, you should really give LotA a try, in the link we talked about in that other thread.

Yeah, some people play computer games without ever caring about the story (to quote my best friend whom I had played Hotseat HoMM III with for 4 years: "Sandro had who poison what king? Era-what?"), while for others, the storyline is as important as any other factor. And I don't think I'll be able to hide that I'm one of those who LOVE good storylines. I mean, I have admitted to falling in love with Tawni, so I don't think it can get any worse. On the other hand, that makes me a little bit afraid of learning the future of Axeoth... what if my favourite, beloved pirate gets her head chopped off by some pesky elf? or even worse - what if she doesn't and ends up growing old?

Don't worry, Tawni does not end up dead in LotA.  She hasn't overtly appeared yet.

Here's a question. In MM8, there are Dark Dwarves. Who/what are they? What's their history?

Well...

Quote:
Though less numerous than the like-minded Dark Elves, Dark Dwarves are those Dwarves who have turned away from the light to follow the path of darkness. The Dark Dwarves of Jadame emigrated there from Erathia, fleeing persecution by the Dwarves of Stone City. A wise choice—not a single of their numbers still lives on the old continent.

It seems this infighting came as a result of the events of Heroes Chronicles: Clash of the Dragons.  Kurbon, a respected Dwarven commander, betrays AvLee and sides with Mutare's Nighon forces.  It might have also happened earlier.

In Heroes III the (Light) Dwarven tunnels are invaded by Nighon (the Liberation campaign, mission 4).  Perhaps the rebellion weakened their numbers significantly enough to prevent any resistance.

The tunnels, along with Antagarich's Dwarven capital (Stone City) also appear in MM7.  Here's two interesting quotes about Dark Dwarves (the first is from a Minotaur):

Quote:
"Balthazar, the greatest leader in the history of our herd, led our warriors in a mighty battle against the Dark Dwarf vermin that erupt from the earth and spread like a plague. It was not a battle that went well for us."

Quote:
"These little vermin work with or for the Elements of the Earth.  No one can tell which.  They burrow up from the earth in search of wealth, food, and slaves.  Nothing is left behind where these scavengers have been."

And about the Dark Elves, who arrived on Jadame centuries before:

Quote:
"Among the first humanoid races to establish themselves on Jadame, the Dark Elves built the city of Alvar at the headwaters of a river canyon. From there they built an overland trade monopoly providing themselves with great wealth and continent-wide influence."
