Poll Question:
game graphics: artistic or realistic

ok, which do people prefer to have their games to look, artistic or realistic?

for artistic, you get games like Okami which provide a wonderful watercolour landscape and is a delight to look at. you also get games like Folklore with some really insane characters and monsters, but done in a way makes them seem normal.

for realistic, you get games like Crysis that may completely wreck your machine, but are like watching an interactive movie. you also get games likeGTA 4 which is about as gritty and realistic as you can get.

so, who wins, Art or realism

I prefer 2D graphics, because there arent any bugs on my 2nd World War's times' machine. And in Crysis, graphic isnt realistic, OMG

I honestly don't mind. The graphics isn't what is important with games, it is the gameplay.

If I must chose however, I would say realistic games. Artistic have a certain appeal as well, but I guess it all depends on the person who plays the games.

It's mather of game really. I prefer fantasy outlook so artistic is towards my liking. However i would not enjoy games like GTA whit "cartoonish" graphics.

That Okami looks bit too childish for my taste (reminds me of Wild Arms 3 and Viewtiful Joe) but if it where (really) unique and interesting i would prefer this style, Folklore looks nice but i don't fancy that game so much.

FPS games i prefer as realistic as possible and luckily that is the case what most of the developers tries to do (never liked Time Splitters)

Still new games now days tries too much to be realistic. I fear game series like HoMM and FF will end up in disaster someday. So far they have looked good but some old touch, like the one whit Heroes 2 had already lost.

Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
