I like Age of Empires. Nice game in multiplayer. The campaigns were cool, but the AI is an idiot.

I here that. It was really dumb. But, it was only the first of a great line of games.

The best AI i think I've seen is in Age of Mythology. But, they don't seem to like making myth units, and a usually have a swarm of them.

PS - Go Guardian Anubites.

I like Tau in DoW, but detest Tau TT players. Bunch o' gits, the lot of 'em.

Oh, and C&C 3: GDI.

Not exactly, remember the kroot? Those carnivores are some of the best survivors there is. They just never seem to die
But as I said, I prefer the whole range specialisation more, but if you wish, the Tau can be real melee-combat monsters

TitaniumAlloy: I usually play at hard, although I've been leaning towards harder for some time now.

Does someone believe they can beat my strategy? (a few posts earlier)
then post some anti-Adrius strategies!

Have you tried the Soulstorm campaign with the Imperial Guard on Hard?  It's maddening just trying to get off the starting planet.  I didn't have any problems with the Tau or Necrons, despite the severe nerfing the Necrons received.

The only faction I've ever really liked besides the space marines is Tau, and I haven't really tried the campaign with any other factions except them. The sister's stronghold is just sick, but the Imperial guard's basilisks should help, shouldn't they?

You can't win a battle on Hard with basilisks because the AI is so pent on rushing, and IG with no turrets or solid defence once guardsmen become redundant (if only ogryns were better) have a hard time compensating..

In other words, IG sucks
No it's just me who can't play with them.

What I would do, (I'm still thinking in Tau ways...) is to slowly move the frontline to their base, if you can predict the crusade's way (not too hard), and set up good defences, you should eb able to move those basilisks close enough to the enemy base. Then it's earthshaker time

It's not the stronghold missions that give me trouble.  It's the take and hold missions when you are dealing with a +5 territory.  In the campaign I was playing, before I saved over it for the sake of my sanity, the only way off the planet was to attack a +5 or a +6.  And with only a Sentinel, Commissar, and Guardsmen as honor guard, is is extremely difficult to fend off two Space Marine or Chaos armies.  The ability of the computer to start with a built up honor guard that includes vehicles, despite taking maybe a handful of territories, makes things really annoying.  Even the forward base and reduced production cost abilties don't help much when facing off against two built up armies.

The only reason I want to play on hard is so my army doesn't receive a health bonus.  I think it's really lame how on normal you start with a health bonus.  Why can't I just play normal and get no bonus, just like the computer?  It's sad the only way they could really make the game hard is by making you fight two computer opponents at once.  One thing that really ticked me off in Dark Crusade is how I could be attacked by two enemy commanders while defending my own territory.  That really sucked on hard.

Ok, I've just begun playing DoW Soulstorm online, I play with Tau and I have won about 50-60 % of my matches.

Anyway, I've dropped most of my previous tactics, and come up with a new one that works wonders against almost any faction early on, but especially against Space Marines and Chaos (My greatest enemies...)
The tactics description starts right after I've built my barracks and my Tau Commander arrives. This can prove to be the "killing blow" on 257 maps, but only weakens my opponent on bigger maps as they can recover because of the large area between us.

My Tau Commander reaches the battlefield, build his flamer at once, it's extremly important. Anticipate the enemy's most likely direction and throw a slow-mine his/her way, I then wait for the first Fire Warrior team to team up with my Commander, the second squad will join up soon.

Run past the first mine and throw another one even closer to the enemy, I then find cover and wait.
Sm and Chaos are generalists, they're good at most things, and will probably charge at me in melee as soon as they see my "puny" Fire Warriors.
Their Commander will probably activate the first mine and leave the rest of the group unharmed, attack the leader, the enemy will make him flee as he is too valuable.
The rest of the enemy's squad(s) is still attacking me though, as they are trying to secure a safe way for their injured Commander.
I now pretend to flee , I run back, past the first mine and let them trigger it, now sit back and enjoy the carnage as a full squad of Marines get shot to bits while their melee hero treats his wounds.

So that's it, the "two-mine tactic" as I call it
It seems complicated, but this is how most players I've met reacts when I use the tactic. The first part is important to do as quickly as possible as Tau get their "real" units out pretty slowly.

Edit: Just used the tactic against a Tau player, he used Vespids and slaughtered me to tiny pieces... As soon as he rushed into the mine he just flew away and waited for the effect to wear off. Then he used the Vespid schockwave ability and broke my Fire Warriors' morale...

I haven't posted here yet? Heresy!

Hmm...I'll write the games I've played, then my favorite race in that game, like you guys have been doing.

Age of Empires
Age of Empires 2 (Britons)
Warcraft 2 (I preferred Humans to Orcs back when I played this game)
Starcraft (Zerg)
Warlords Battlecry I, II (Undead)
Warcraft 3 (Night Elf)
Dark Colony (well, there's only two races in that game, and they're mirror copies of each other, so meh. )
Rise of Nations (Egyptians)
Command and Conquer: Red Alert (I used to play the Soviets, because of those Mammoth Tanks. )

Lol just saw this then and I must say that I entirely disagree with you.

I don't think Goths are the strongest because they are unable to build walls, they have weak elite unique units and when versing any other civ, they just completely fall apart. If I was to verse you to a match and you picked Goths, I can assure you that you would be defeated.
