Thinking about the series, heroes has allways been based ALOT on myths and legends and ofcourse the champion who leads the army on to victory with his/her skills and knowledge(the hero).

Thinking about it, i think "class upgrade" from heroes 4 should be re-added because it was nice to asced from Knight to Paladin, etc.
For spells, they are allmost fine. Exepct the fact that there are soo FEW spells around lategame, sure implosion and armageddon and others are nice. But there are in fact too few.

For the "alternativ-upgrade" i would say to partly keep it, ALOT of units got some snowish upgrades and some you do not really got a choice because there is a obius difference in strength.

Soo apply's partly for Might and Magic, the choice of selecting a strong commandor or a great mage was allways a great element, and should re re-added too. One of the current problems is that if you pick "that" faction you will end up haveing certain troubles in the stat growth as certain classes is insanely superior in certain stats but you want the countorpart yourself. Currently i would say Warlocks and Wizards are the "no field command ability's" classes and soo on, but you want a hero that will not need mana to prove power but that will result in gettin some random hero of a tavern and you want one that is from your own Faction.

=========Factions========

After thinking about it, you realize you miss alot of the parts of the heroes 3 factions. And you miss alot of units too, but people can live with that.


I would say a faction called Coalition would be a nice asset, it would be a setup from different units that joined forces(mostly left behind units from earlyer games maybe? Like Evil Eye, etc).
This would end up as a like neutral faction under campaigns and stuff.

Adding back the heroes 3 fortress in a way would be nice, renamed to "Swamp" maybe? You kind of still miss the Gorgons and Dragonflyes.
And the Beastmaster too.

As for new factions:

Someting based on Egypt and the old mytologi and belifs.
Slave, Mummies, Ra servant, Anubis, Shfinxs, Giant Scarabs, and others would have done to another nice asset. Heroes kind of miss that faction.
Shfinxs should have a ability called "Question", can be casted like once and kills like minimun% of stack+someting about number of Shfinxes BUT it got a chance to fail killing a minumum % of the stack if it fails. Chance for succes should be like 60-65% but it might fail soo it would end up as a risk ability.

Called "Pyramide" maybe?


And what about a faction based on the Vikings, based on the old mythologi about Thor, Odin, and the others?
*Level 1: Apprentice, semi lvl 1 can become maybe "Dead Apprentice" or someting thinking about the fact that in the mythologi Warriors who die in battle are honoured to go to Valhall and keep figthing.
*Level 2: Fenris cub ---> Fenris Kin
Some kind of wolf
*Level 3: Viking --> Axe Thrower
Fierce meele warrior --> annyoing ranged unit
*Level 4: Jotne ---> Grim Jotne (a kind of troll)
Both can be shooters or someting
*Level 5: Valkyrie
*Level 6: Land Skip(litteraly Long Ship)
Flying, ranged attack(a missile barrage).

Eh help?
*Level 7: Great Serpet ---> Midgars Orm
The great serpet mentioned in the mythologi is a strong one, and its suppose to bend around earth's seven sea's. You do make "flying" the classfication of teleporting units, and i think it says somewhere that it "dives into the ground like it was water" soo yeah ;D

Ships???? Otherwise me like this alot You could put in giants (big men with pelt over their body and a great club or axe) instead of the longboats, cause Im not sure if that could fit on the Battle Field. Longboat could be their unique transport ship on the adventure map instead.

Trolls was used on Jotne(its a kind of troll, se the mytologi for further explaination <.<

I got no clue on it......... but i'm not the brigthest in northern mythologi either xD

Wikipedia have some great info about norse mythology, no matter I know some of it since I research the myths when I have time. Glad Im born in norway, the norse myths are very popular and of that Im proud of my homeland

Anyway just be aware of false facts in wikipedia.

I see you have posted the ideas i and you came up with diablo, except for that you have changed a little on them....Well I like all of it, but you didn't post the Asiatian faction we came up with. Now, i can a "little"(damn i can much about nordisk Mytologi) about nordisk mytologi, so why not make a riding viking? A guy who rides on an eat feeted horse(Refferans to Odin's Horse Sleipner)? It could work.

Well i can kind of thinking about the moving on of the story of heroes 5:

It has been 10 days since the Dark Messiah claimed the Skull of the 7th dragon for his own demonical abuse, he started to change the land in a rapid pace along with opening up the allmost closed rift ending up with a swarm of ravaning demons coming trougth at a rapid rate.
Every faction did what they only could do: Esquape away before the demons was knocking on theyr doors.
The necromancers started with opening dimensional gates to another world effectively moving city's and the same applyed to the wizards along with the humans.
On the other side the few that had traveled over to safe themself from destruction started to run into different factions on this "new world" and came over the tales of a people claiming that they themself had entered this world from destruction, and some magicians realised this world was not created by Asha, or maybe it was?
Legends and myths was soon to be discovered by the travels that ran away from the Dark Messiah, legends of Armageddons Blade and Blade of Frost. The ranger Gelu and the king Kilgor that in the they both ended up destroying the world, sending millions to this world as refuges.


Campaign suggestion:
*The great RUN, storys how most of the factions united and ran trougth the portals
*Merging the factions
*Civil war in the Necropolis due the question of moral and ethics
*The uniting of nations to seal of the rift against Dark Messiahs hordes
*The separation of Inferno, the side that did NOT support the dark messiah becomes a reformed NEW inferno in the new world.

and others.....


Yeah the idea is that the people of heroes 5 runs away from Dark Messiah as he enslaves the world and changes it to his own will. The people run to the world of Heroes 4 meaning a point merge in history.

That is a good story, only that it's kinda too few campaigns...normaly there are six campaigns in a HoM&M game(without any expansions).

What you mean by that? Do you mean in story or in gameplay, cause in gameplay i must say it's an bad idea, but in story it's actually good, cuz the story to HoM&M5 sucked...well that's mine opinion

Well, not to be pernickety and annoying, but:

- It's not possible for anyone in Axeoth to conjure dimensional portals between worlds.  No living being can produce the amount of energy needed.  Even a simple Town Portal spell causes exhaustion - you'd need a Guardian, or an energy source like the Wire.

- Worlds in the old Might and Magic universe were created exclusively by the four Elemental Lords, not the Elemental Dragons.

- If it were as easy to create a portal to another world then you've opened up countless plotholes all the villains throughout the series could have exploited.

- Demons and Kreegans are two seperate races in the old universe:  Kreegans are the Inferno faction, while Demons are a totally different race dwelling in the Underworld.  Non-interchangeable.

- We already have a half-Human, half-Demon in the old universe and he looks nothing like Sareth.

They are seperate universes with seperate stories
