I'm reading "The blood of elves" from Andrzej Sapkowski, the third volume of The Witcher series. Quite good if you are a fantasy lover, like myself.

What I'm reading
I wanted to read something like a thriller and found "A Mirror Above the Abyss". The novel touches on political issues and tells about high-profile incidents of the 20-21 centuries. Translating a short story professionally, I stumbled about the interesting phenomenon called The Mandela Effect.
COLLECTIVE false memory as a phenomenon? Scary as hell...

Yeah, that’s quite a famous thing actually. People start reconstructing their memory according to misconceptions. One famous example is how most people remember the SW line as “Luke, I’m your father” because it’s been misquoted so many times.

I don't doubt it's possible - but it's also utterly disturbing, if you think about it.
If a person has a memory and everyone else says, no, that was different, ok, you'll accept. But if you have a distinct memory and thousand other remember the same thing it looks somewhat different. It means, just because others remember what you remember, it doesn't have to be true.
Very disturbing.
Especially for people who like their conspiracy theories.

It reminds of the Cassandra syndrome (and its mythological story) but instead of the future, it applies to the past.

I'm currently doing a book for work that is, well, awesome. It deals with a well-worn topic, but in a very fresh and interesting way and with a couple of interesting twists.
Very recommended.

Finally came to read volume 1 of Joe Abercrombie's Age of Madness trilogy - and, man, it's AWESOME. Unbelievably good.
I also read the first of Ann Leckie's Ancillary novels - also a highlight.
Currently started with Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows Duology.
Seems rather good.
