I have the original Majesty and the Expansion pack. Both are quite good games, and I enjoyed them a bit. I finished the game too.

OMG. It's going to be awesome! In the utterly-complicated-yet-sickeningly-fun-and-addictive-once-you-get-the-hang-of-it way that's so characteristic of Paradox Interactive
God I love those guys.

Oh good! I loved Majesty. Can't wait for it to go 3-d with better spell graphics. But, the graphics weren't why you played Majesty. It was just simply an awesome game.

I hope it would be more enjoyable... I play it on an off for like 2-3 weeks... then I put it to rest, just to play it 3 weeks later or half a year.. or maybe just a year..
I want faster lvl'ing so I dont have to cheat my wizard to lvl 100 so no big thing will kill me!

Why would you want to do that? Isn't it more fun when you have a challenge of trying to kill a giant when it is awake and able to fight back?

I find the first game reasonably challenging, so no point in raising hero levels or other forms of cheating. Every level was beatable.
I hope sounds will stay in the spirit. In that trailer there was a generic "argggggggh" when swordsman died, which is nowhere near the time-of-death taunts in old game.

From the looks of things, I don't think the system req's will be that bad. But still, it should at the very least have good spell graphics. That's what i'm look forward too. I hope they keep most of the units, just make more troop buildings and civil stuff.

I'm getting excited. June's Game Informer officially announced Majesty 2, and referenced the ability to make hero parties! Yes!

I don't know anything about the date, and Game Informer said nothing either. Let me check wikipedia...According to it, its Spring of 2009. Damn, that's far off.

Well the best way to find out what is so great about it is to try it for yourself. It all depends on the person who plays it. For example, a reviewer might say that it is a horrible game, but a player might say it is a great game. So it's kinda hard (well for me at least) to say what is so great about it because it's just my opinion. See if you can find a demo of the game or a copy of the full version and try it for yourself.

From Wikipedia:
Quote: Majesty is a "simulation" in that it is designed to implement a clichéd fantasy role-playing game world in another genre entirely. As such the setting, Ardania, features city sewers infested with giant rats, landscapes dotted with ancient evil castles, and soldiers helpless against anything bigger than a goblin. As Sovereign, the player must rely on hiring bands of wandering heroes in order to get anything done.
The game has nineteen single player scenarios but no overarching plotline. The Northern Expansion adds new unit abilities, buildings, monsters, and 12 new single player scenarios. Freestyle play and multiplayer are also available.
