I found that out after 3 months. I don't know why I was draging the heroes to the flag in the first place

What I didn't know

I didn't know about this even after YEARs of playing heroes!

Is a garrisoned hero a "dead hero" or "inactive"? I mean, when a hero is put as a garrison, can you deactivate the status to make the hero "run on the map again"?

You can see how the computer values the different creature types of the same level with such a garrison attack. Just give your hero 6 different level 6 creatures (1 unit per stack), and then watch out how he arranges them when u get attacked. This way u know how the comp values the creatures..

I just tested this and it uses "AI Value" from crtraits.txt. It multiplies the number of creatures in the stack by AI Value. It uses the total to place them like you said, with the lowest value at the bottom (slot 7) and the highest value at the top.

As an example, zealots have a value of 750 and imps have a value of 50. So the AI values 15 imps (15*50) the same as 1 zealot. 16 imps will be placed above 1 zealot, 14 imps would be placed below, and 15 imps keeps the same order as they were in the garrison.

With this important information you can now go out and win every game you play.
