PEOPLEEE SORRY BUT I HAVE TO MODIFY MY QUESTION :
Here is the new version :
MAX MANA YOU CAN SPEND IN A BATTLE WITHOUT RAIN OF ARROWS
I made this change cuz
lets say you have ultimate avanger and you chose pitlords + archdevil + cerberus + imp as favourited enemies
Your enemy has ultimate gating:
Your enemy archdevil gates, 2 arch devils
They both summon pitlords; 2 pitlords
2 pitlords gate ; 4 pitlords in total
enemy had a pitlord in original army, that gates ; 6 pitlords in total
imps gate ; 2 imps
cerberus gate : 2 cerberus'
So your rain of arrows hit 12 stacks with imbued meteor shower : this costs 19*12=228 mana EXCLUDING THE STACKS YOU CAN HIT BY PHANTOM FORCES!!!! So letssay rain of arrows is forbidden =)))))

Well, let me think: I say, it would be the Ranger, with Imbued Ballista with Area Cleansing and the Ring of Machine Affinity fighting a Barbarian with Shatter Light - Corrupt Light and Shatter Summoning - Corrupt Summoning.
This would add up to:
20 (Mana Cost of Area Cleansing) x 4 (Triple Ballista + Ring) x1,5 (Corrupt Destruction) = 120
I don´t know if the effects of two Rings of Machine Affinity stack, this would add another 30.
Additionally the Ranger can cast a spell of his own: The most expensive spell is Summon Phoenix:
35 x 1,5 = 52,5
Now, if we assume that the Ranger has Expert Sorcery his turn comes 30% faster, so he could effectively cast 1,43 spells per turn:
52,5 x 1,43 = 75,075
So, if we add everything we´ve got 120 + 75,075 (+ 30 for a fifth shot of the ballista) = 195,075 or 225,075
by the way: I´m not completely sure if you really can Imbue ballista with Area Cleansing. With Meteor Shower it would be: 114 + 75,075 (+28,5 for a second Ring) = 189,075 or 217,575.
Quite impressive!

i personally think that a high level arantir with many knowledge artifacts can use up the most mana in a turn if his avatar of death is killed by a wraith or pit lord or something.
but if you are talking about casting as tygore mentioned above, his calculations above are good. however, i would make an adjustment: if the ranger could cast mass cleansing himself, and had expert sorcery, he would be able to cast 2.857 mass cleansing spells in a turn. If he casts 3 mass cleansings, it would be 30 spellpoints(enemy has corrupt light) per casting X 3 = 90. this is greater than casting 2 summon phoenixes, unless the enemy also has corrupt summoning, then summoning 2 phoenixes = 106 SP.
then add 5 imbued mass cleansings = 106 + 150 = 256 sp.
if you are simply talking about 1 single most expensive spell, it would be high level arantir's avatar of death spell vs. a barbarian with corrupt summoning.

Ok, sorry for all, I were simply sleeping. My guess: ranger with ring of machine affinity, dragon tallon crown (or archer's dream), light magic and master of blessings, expert summoning and sorcery, expert war machines, triple and imbue ballista, imbue his ballista with mass cleansing vs barbarian, who has shatter and corrupt light and summoning magic, by week of ether, it will be: 20(mass cleansing)*4(ballista's shoot's)*1.5(corrupt light)*2(week of ether)=240 mana cost. However, if ballista gains second move in a turn (+10% initiative from artifact) it will be 240*2=480 damage  . In additional, if imbue ballista use hero, not it self ATB (I should to test it), then hero may too cast summon phoenix twice per round, if too trigers defile magic effect, it will cost 35(base cost)*2(twice cast)*1.5(corrupt summoning)*2(week of ether)*2(defile magic)=540, so total it will be: 240+540=780 mana cost. Still, someone may know: which ATB uses ballista, hero or self, can defile magic target imbue ballista,... it's new realy insane hard quiz  .
Ebbafan - mass spell don't work with sorcery , so normal you can cast nur 2 spell per round, I believe.

No. You have only 10 mana, but we, the HC pros always have at least 500 ;P
About the balista, of course it uses it's own ATB and initiative, however won't be pushed by Wyngaal. Let's say it's just 11 ini which means 1.1 shots per round (+10%)

allright I guess I didnt write the question clear enough, what i meant by 1 turn is 1 actual turn by hero or creature or balista and had enough mana to cast, but i'll except by week of ether, it will be: 20(mass cleansing)*4(ballista's shoot's)*1.5(corrupt light)*2(week of ether)=240 mana cost. someone else said it correct without week of ether that was reaaaaaly close buuuut i guess you win homm3megejas. this must be the dread knight (if that exict) but as it surely don't i will say pit spawns or pit lords. or maybe the ballista. it will kill about half the enemy if you are lucky
