~~~ Point Shaving & Non Report Penalties ~~~
Just noticed a very annoying situation... players that dont report there wins and losses immediately after there game ends.  That not only affects those 2 players but also affect other players points that play those players in games after that.
I did an experiment just to see how long it would take.  I finished my clan war game with Teacher friday at 11:25 am, teacher reported his game, and I went to check the unreported game page, and seen that teacher had also reported winning agasint insatiable BEFORE our game. So I was curious... I did  the calcuation and noticed that if Insatiable had reported his game right after game, then teachers points would be higher and thusly my points I got would be more for beating him.  So since Insatiable has not reported his win, I lost 2 points!  Now before the flames come, I know you are gonna say... 2 pts, big deal... But when you are in the high lord attempting to make Emperor and alot of the players you play are barons and legionaiires and a win normally would gain you 7 points.... 2pts makes a difference. Especially if you have been one of them players that has landed 1 or 2 points before a promotion then went on a losing streak.....
I waited all weekend before I reported my game, to see how long it would take Insatiable to report his win... and he still as of this post hasnt reported so I went ahead and sacrifced my 2 points.
I wonder why people dont go and report right away??? Is it because they are trying to shave points?  They are waiting for there opponent to gain more points so there win means more points for them??
I propose that there should be a penalty for anyone who doesnt report there game within a certain time after game.  Like for example if they dont report within 4 hours after your oppoent reports then the win report gets removed and you lose your win... and if it is a loss report you should get an additional - 10 points penalty to your rankings points.
It only takes 30 secs or less to go to TOH site and report. If you cannot get it done in 4 hours, then you must not want the points bad enough. SHouldnt make the other guy wait or mess with other players ranking points etc.
Good idea
I have encountered only a few opponents who did this so its not a huge issue but one that might deserve some attention.
I think a better idea than losing points on a time limit it would be better to subtract 5pts per reported game after the original game has been played regardless of if the winner or loser plays the next game.
Sadly, this might be more work on poor old Vesuvius than its worth, im not sure if there is a way to incoperate it automatically into a program...im guessing not.
All I say is, all you guys, just report your game immediately after playing.  It makes my life easier too, sometimes I have to wait 2 or more days for a clan game to be reported & matched.  Then there are those who 'forget' to report it as clan game, and so I have to be a 'private investigator' and figure out through the records database who played what, and if it really was for a clangame.
Sometimes I'm not the master private investigator, and figure out things wrong, and so then the player emails me that their clan points are off etc...
So please report on time, and report correctly.
