Ultimatively, I guess it's bixie's decision, but I think we still need to agree on the world setting and some basic rules before we begin. Also it would be nice to have some kind of a plot to begin with.

Right, more concepts... I'd really like to see Bixie's opinion on all this.

Moving on to Divine Presence:

Level One: Point of Power
The god is bound to one individual, tree, animal, grove, smaller building or artifact and the immediate surroundings of that object. A god may be the protector of that object, it might grant him power, or he might be imprisoned in it.

Level Two: Places of Concentration
The god is able to roam between temples or groves dedicated to him, or certain types of woods, persons, and similar. Or he may be confined to a larger area such as a nation or a mountain chain, which he may not leave. However he does not have any power outside those boundaries.

Level Three: Elemental Energy
The god is able to walk freely wherever his element or specialty is present. That includes any village with a blacksmith if he is the god of blacksmiths, any place on fire or with a torch if he is a god of fire etc. His might is greater if there is more element around. For example, a god of darkness will have more power at night than in a shadow of a tree in the middle of a day.

Level Four: Ethereal Walk
The god is able to walk and materialize basically anywhere, but needs some time to get to places where his element(s) are not present, or where there are more powerful deities in command. His power is far greater if he is on his own element, but is a force to be reckoned with wherever he walks. He, however, may be weakened in areas of opposite elements.

Level Five: Omnipresence
The god is ultimately able to spawn anywhere and see everything. In some cases, he may even be at two or more places at the same time, though that is extremely complex and mortals can hardly comprehend it. Wielding maximum power wherever he is, he cannot be weakened by an opposite element or another prominent power in the region.

Coming up next, flaws and similar
Gods could start with a fixed amount of points and earn additional points later, according to what they do, what quests they solve, how good they roleplay etcetera, and thus buy higher levels of Godly Presence and Duty, buy out their flaws, get new advantages etc...

And how do people decide on who has what level of ability?  I mean, some people will go straight to omnipresence and burninate everyone else, won't they?

That's why baklava made two systems - Duty and Presence. Let's say that each god has 6 points to distibute, then he can be either allpowerful and pinned to one location (like Woock) or a weakling that can be anywhere (like me).

maybe, Mythical, if you could design some of the flaws for gods...

basically, if you want more points to spend on either power or influence, you need to have a flaw to compensate. these could include Lecherousness  (sleeps around alot), Control freak (demands total worship from worshippers, doesn't let them have any other gods), Spawner of monsters (if ever sleeps with a mortal, that mortal will give birth to a monster), Too Human (is actually a human who is playing at being a god) or simply gives too much (far too caring of their worshippers.)

its up to you the amount of points you get  for different flaws.

Well I would put them like this.

Minor - Things like gluttony, hedonism..basically the seven sins .  Would be worth minimum ammount of points, with a set maximum of 3 total.  On a point scale of 100 they would be worth about 1 point.  After all, they are not major set backs.  Also, anything that a power, skill, etc offsets would not count for points or toward there maximum.  For instance, being greedy and able to create things out of thin air would be worth 0 points.  The maximum of course would be up to you, and you could let them choose there flaws and I could assign points which would be subject to your approval.

Normal - Things like severe fear of something, hatred of something (lets not do the hatred of different people tho, would wreck the whole thing), or as powerful enemy.  Would be worth 10 points (out of 100) with a max of 2.  Anything that limits what they can and can not do or where they can go would fit this category.  Again I could assign points on a case by case basis .

Major - Things like Piousness (requires a strict code for their followers to adhere to), Monster Creator, Jealous of other gods, More Powerful enemy and such would be worth the most points.  Also you could only choose one Major flaw.

I will try to have a more comprehensive list once I figure out your point system and get an idea what people might want

Axis managed perfectly without rules for as long as the people were interested in playing. The points used there were only a rough guideline to see that this guy is stronger than that guy and not to actually calculate things.

Same goes for Imagination and (mostly) LHW, which didn't even have the point guideline.

Points will be earned by doing godly deeds, like little quests, or going out to kill some monsters, and even stealing belief from other gods.

the system is based on belief, we as start as relatively weak, BUT CHARACTERFUL gods, and as we earn rewards, our belief and praise grows and we get more powerful.
