Do I really have to install it all over again or is 120Mb the actual patch to the 1.1 HotA?

Great work though guys, all this work of continuing NWC's work only makes the results all the more natural since they were supposed to be in this the first time around.

downloading now. i can't wait to check this stuff out. looks AWESOME. thanks for all the hard work, guys!

i have a question, also. how did you guys introduce new terrains into the game? not the ground patches, but the terrains themselves, like the redone sand terrain and volcanic(?) terrains in earlier screenshots. i see that they're not included with version 1.2, is it possible i could get my grubby little hands on any terrains you guys scrapped?

(edit: cool new objects! love the new mountains, water objects, sand patches, h2 objects, little shrooms, and frogs! i'm probably forgetting something else that made me happy as hell...)

I need a little help here. How can I and my cousin play this online? Would gameranger do the trick?
I already tried hamachi, we can see each other's games but when we try to join we get that 'connection timeout' error. Tried tunngle too, but couldn't see each other's games, although we were in the same server...
Any suggestions?

Hello . I downloaded HOTA 1.2 and here are my first impressions and suggestions :

   - HoTa HD is bugged ( you always start with the hero Orrin and there are constant crashes ) - please fix this
   - I am glad that the Conflux townscreen is fixed ( Upg. Pyre animation )
   - I saw that now Phoenix has only 2 growth/week ( with castle ).This is too imbalanced and makes the Conflux too weak . My suggestion is that Phoenixes should have 3 growth/week ( with castle) .

These are my first impressions. I hope you can balance the game in future patches and release an english version ASAP. Thanks for your great work.

Hello crew members of HotA.

There are some issues with the map When Seas Were Deeper. For example - the tan player's town is set as Castle but becomes Cove when in game. The problem is however that instead of Cove heroes being available in the tavern there are only those of Castle. This problem usually comes when you set out Cove in Grayface's WoG Editor. It should be easily solved through hex editing. So if you could fix this it would be great.

Other than that I am loving the new HotA. Your work is much appreciated! Now I'm only waiting eagerly for the english version so I can play through the campaigns as well.

Why do you ask for fix if you're using wog editor? Nobody guaranteed compatibility.

We didn't do it. In 1.2 and its screens sands are only decorative objects.
Old screens are only screens without implemented game content.

Playing HotA online is the same as playing SoD. It worked both with Hamachi and Gameranger for me.
Try to find threads about playing SoD online in this forum.

This is because the old version of HD.

Even now in HotA Conflux is overpowered. In future there will be other changes in it, maybe there will be horde for firebirds.

i was just about to post the screens i was talking about, when i understood your message after re-reading it. is there any reason why the ground patches for snow, grass, and rough were not implemented? they look as beautiful as the new sand you guys included in 1.2. it would be a shame not to include these. or are you guys just pushing stuff out piece by piece, to picture me squirming like a worm on a hook? cause that would be cruel.

You clearly didn't read it thoroughly. I said that it's a problem which you usually get if you do so. The problem appears on one of YOUR maps however which makes me wonder if the author used a WoG Editor. It's not my map, it was part of the game and I can't open it because I don't know how to hex edit.

@HoTa makers : If you make Conflux weaker , please be sure that you'll balance other towns too ( ex. Necro and Castle are too strong , Inferno and Fortress are too weak ). Thanks for understanding , an old Heroes fan.

Statistics in online tournaments show equal ratio win/loss between castle, inferno and fortress. I don't know where you got this idea...

I confirm, on When Seas Were Deeper tan player starts with Cove but heroes are still affiliated to Castle. I choose then Sir Mullich, because he is the only one having a pirate look.

If only growth have been changed - Phoenix are still a veeeery cost-efficient unit. Similar stats than Ghost Dragon but 2/3 less cost.

And Sprites still defeat any slow walking enemy, storm & ice elementals offers good early shooting coverage, the armageddon combo, etc...

Good I'm not the only one who noticed. I was lucky enough to find Zilar the first day. :-)
