Campaign may not be necessary, but it helps a lot on immersion and some consider that very important...and probably HotA team as well, so we'll have to wait

+1, a fresh discovery of the campaigns it's the best, when you replay it you remenber tricks, locations, traps, etc...

You had to memorize a lot in vanilla SoD anyway. Of course you had manual, where you could check something if you weren't quite sure about it. And there is HotA "manual". I give link to it very often in this thread. Yes, it's in English.

Just play in russian even if you don't know the language, you will get it during battles.. Discovering special abilities on the spot can have its charm =)

Hi!
There seems to be a minor problem with HotA map "союз" (Sojus).
Whenever I point the cursor at the dwellings in the vicinity of the town on the northermost of those 3 "Swamp bridges" the game terminates due to a critical error.
Another Frigate (Pirate dwelling) on one of the Island seems to be erroneous. Pirates can't be recruited for some reason.

I use HotA 1.2 + HD Mod on Heroes 3 Complete and Windows 7. Other than that I haven't experienced a single crash so far. Besides, I am rid of crashes occasionally occuring with plain Heroes 3 Complete.


Furthermore, there are still some flaws of SoD in HotA:

- AI Players tend not to build special structures in their towns. This way Cove AI players don't upgrade Pirates twice.

- The arrow tower damage displayed (rightclick) is lower than actually inflicted. IMHO the displayed one would be a little low. The actually inflicted one is more appropriate. Anyway, the bug which erroneously led Armorer-skilled heroes to incur raised damage is fixed. Now they incur less damage. Defense rating is unalteredly irrelevant.

- Castle town's built-in lighthouse still increases Sea movement points for all! players.

- Badge of Courage's mind spell immunity: I'd propose to either add this feature to the description or to simply erase it.

In vanilla/original expansions is like this...but yeah, a description wouldn't hurt.

By rightclick base damage is displayed. But arrow tower also has 10 attack (+ hero attack) and ignores enemy defense (it`s feature, without it arrow towers becomes too weak against strong hero).

i am a newer to this forum,but has played homm/wog for decades.firtst,i appreciate that hota team has done a wonderful job.i still got some question, some persons suggested that two hidden heroes would appear in the cove, by quickly entering and logging off the  campaign model. i tried but fail.anyone can do me a favor?

It isn't in SoD

(I think is the same case a pikeman description and their inmunity to chivalry, in SoD is not listed but it has it, while in WoG they added if I'm not mistaken..)

In my version (heroes of might and magic III COMPLETE) Both the pikeman ability and the badge's immunity are in their description...

In HotA I added in creatures descriptions (both in russian and in english) all abilities, which I know about, except double damage by elementals to each other and half damage by psychic and magic elementals to some creatures, because it can`t be placed there even using tiny.fnt.
In english 1.2 won`t be right Badge of Courage's description as there is no such in russian version, but later either this artifact will be fixed or its description will be added.
