How about giving QP for helping others with mods?
We are talking about difficult problems, ofcourse.

And what about giving them QP's for initiating good mods and executing them?

Currently QP-worthy are:
1. Useful tutorials and examples (Like here and here)
2. Great threars, with many posters and unique ideas (Like here)
3. Post (or many posts), with a lot of knowledge in different subject (helping the new modders) (Like here)
4. Community threads (Like here)
Why no QP's for mods? As Sfidanza, mentioned long ago, they need their own notation system, especially all small mods (like NCF creatures or skin mods). I have an idea and I'll probably have to talk with Val about it, so just wait for some feedback. Thanks.
(And don't worry, if my first idea isn't possible I have plan B I just want everything perfect)

I wonder what sort of notation system that might be, maybe "green stars" or some such? Or a rating system like out-of-five-stars or a scale of one to ten? Might seem a little strange to introduce a whole new type of "award" solely for mods.

I don't think that the intention is to change the entire system. Maybe something like nominating three expert modders (let's say Radar, Cepheus and Gnoll_Mage), who can download new mods and tell if they're worth a QP? If a mod get the vote of all the three, it gets a QP?

It really doesn't matter if there's a mess in the mod file. Just get it working and all can install it and post their impressions.
And I really can't see point of not giving QPs for mods.
If you made an effort why not to reward it?
About rating it's obvious - small mods, like for example Pixie retexturing should not receive a QP, while mega projects like ToK should. Nothing to calculate here, you can see it with your eyes if it's good lol.

Lol, we already did HC's Got Talent.
How about a monthly/bimonthly thing where there are mods nominated for a QP in several catagories, and it is voted/decided upon which should get the QP. Catagories could be Best Major Project, Best New Hero, Best Retexture, Best New Creature, Other.

This sounds suitable and enjoyable!
Although I think that all the major project so far are worth some QP's.

I simply can't see enough mods being created to satisfy that monthly award-giving thing. There's only so much one can do with the game as it is. And when you're hardly even acknowledged for your work... why bother?
Maybe it's just my somewhat selfish way of thinking, but it's also a reason for the lack of mods which are being created here these days. Of course, I've only actually released one mod so maybe it'd be a good idea for me to shut up

Yes, I think a policy change would have to be applied to past mods too really, since there just aren't that many arriving these days.

Nice. I personally think they should be blue but I'm sure it's moddable.
And for titles:

Aprentice Modsmith
Adept Mosmith
Esteemed Modsmith
Grand Modsmith

That looks good, but if the modders were to have that, then shouldn't everyone else who posts in other forums also have something similar?

Well no, this isn't contest, and also I test all mods before uploading them (at the filespace). Also this mean that they will have more rights than all other ordinary members (and modders), also the rewarding is moderatrs work. This will work slow and clumsy.

Yeah its good idea I thought about it, and I still think about it. But monthly and even bimonthly is too often, it will not be prestige. I thought about Golden Hammer prize (Modding Oscars ) in different categories but once per year, but 1 year is too much (well ye can to it as well as the new rating system maybe so...)

QP's are not just all cool or useful post (mods), they are top 2% post at the forum.

Of course they will, if everything is working, but you have to wait first, anyway if my first idea is working well you'll have to wait for a bit
Quote: Green star system
I like it as well. Green, (...) blue doesn't matter, anyway this idea isn't new. Actually I informed Val for something similar.

Problem is that a special star system only for mods would only apply to this forum, making it an odd feature for the community in general.
That being said, I think the QP rate is pretty good in this forum. Like Vokial said above, QP's are awarded for guides, helpful posts and major projects. Being that some members produce mods, and good mods, by the dozen, makes awarding bonuses for simple graphic mods, to give an example, a pitfall imo.

Have it so that the green stars would only be visible within this forum? That way it wouldn't affect non-modders. Indeed, I could probably make a green star system myself (clearly, green is the right colour ^^); obviously it wouldn't be shown in your profile box on the left, it would be a dynamic image in the signature and / or profile page, and Vokial would be able to give stars as he choses. It might just be possible for this to be displayed only in the MW, and for posts in a thread by a user who received a green star in that thread to say that the user was awarded in that thread.

I took the Green Star that Gnoll Mage done, and edited it to look more proffesional, with a bit of a shadow. I ended up with a quite nice star, and I think that a thing like that may actually fit the profile:
Added it to the example that GM did:
