The Serpent God stood motionless upon a balcony positioned on a high wall of a large, torch-lit hallway and gazed at the raiders passing through it. Mostly dark priests and lightly armed warriors from a few scattered, local tribes.
"Naive, zealous fools..." he muttered to himself. "From the unmatched serpent hosts of Tharri, you've come to this... Loyalty is all that is of any worth in you lot. But it's a start... And you are well-suited for the task ahead."

He rose his arm, pointed his finger at the banners they carried and hissed a few words unknown to any mortal ear.

"To your eyes, they shall remain the flags of Zual-Dhar... For you would fight under no other, now would you? Hah... But for everyone else..."

Streams of magic surged from Zual-Dhar's arm onto the flags. There were two kinds - black ones, with purple snakes upon them; and purple ones, with black axes resembling the god's enchanted weapon. They were designed during the golden age of Tharri, and Zual-Dhar still liked them. However, now he watched as their dye washes off under the influence of magic, and new colours arise upon them - sky-blue and white flags with snowy owls, deers and other coats-of-arms of Vitinienquea, the Snow Queen.

"The rich borderlands of the Eastern Empire await... They could use a bit of plundering, just for old days' sake. I wonder if the Easterlings still remember the whole Tharri wars business." Zual-Dhar seemed to remember. With glee. "Nevertheless, the seeds of chaos are in place, and the first steps are taken. Now to awaken the daemons..."
He turned around and crawled back into the shadowy corridors, an eerie smile dancing on his face.

Vigitar entered the village of Maksar with his white-cloak acolytes.

They searched the atheist's house. They came back with an object. Vigitar held it in his hands... "NOW, my eyes can see what others cannot... I can see... The north? WTF? Why d'u give me a compass?" The white-cloak monk answered: "it's the only thing we found there, the funny thing is that it doesn't point to the north..." Vigitar knew that it must point to another magnetic source, then. Maybe... The device that can alter/destroy gods... Why didn't he see that the atheist ran?

He called the empire captain (who didn't knew was talking to a god). "Maybe he already finished the device?" the captain suggested. "Captain, if you were an atheist in a world filled with acolytes, worshippers and gods, and you were shunned your entire 'cuz u didn't believe in gods, what would you as soon as you completed the device?" Vigitar said. The captain thought and finally said: "summon an entire harem of nymphs who would worship me!" Vigitar shook his head: "SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE MAN! But what would you do after that?" "Take revenge at the gods?" the captain asked. Vigitar nodded and explained that the gods still lived.

They followed his trail and came to a crossroad. "Which way?" the capt asked. Vigitar chose one path (finally a use for my ability, YES) which would eventually lead to the atheist.

Vigitar was worried over the fate of the eastern empire, but he figured that he could be much more of a help, if he had the device.

Aiden, the voice said.  Aiden…Aiden

Aiden was dreaming.   It had been wild.  He had been running through the forest on four strong, sturdy hooves, which seemed to find smooth sections of the ground without any conscious thought.  Faster and faster he ran, feeling the wind muttering in his fur.  He could barely see, the Deer’s eyes not being as fine as a human’s.  But the sheer adrenaline, the stamina, the graceful movements over terrain that would have otherwise confounded him, it was all so very worth the blurred vision.

Aiden…AIDEN!!

Aiden pulled himself sadly away from the dream, turning over on his bed.  “Please father, just five more minutes,” he muttered.  It seemed very dark for morning.  Perhaps a storm was coming.

“Aiden, get up now.  And don’t call me father, do I look like Ariedor?”

“Humm?”  Aiden opened his eyes and looked into his room.  Two seconds later, after his mind took in what he was seeing, he was suddenly wide awake, pressed up against the wall next to his bed.  A memory of the last time he had been up against that very wall flashed into his memory, but…no.  Not the time.  Standing before him was a great, glistening apparition.  Specifically, the Apparition.  He had seen the spirit of Benvolrr twice before, once in a dream once when in deep meditation at the altar with the Priests.  Never before had Benvolrr come to him.  Benvolrr’s antlers brushed up against the ceiling, and his tail was curled to avoid nicking itself on the sword atop of Aiden’s trunk.  His eyes were incredibly blue, a blue that convinced you that you had imagined all other colors until now, there was blue and only blue.

“Finally,” Benvolrr said, rolling those violently blue eyes.  “I was wondering if I would have to become physical and start gnawing at your leg or something.  Seriously, turn yourself into a bear and stay that way, you’ve got hibernation down pat.”

“I’m sorry,” Aiden said.  It felt very strange to try to be humble to someone smaller than you (not including the antlers) and to try to bow while sitting awkwardly in bed.

“Hmm, not very bear-like, being apologetic,” Benvolrr mused.  “Probably for the best, I need you to have wolfish qualities.  Aiden, I…ugh, I can’t believe I’m saying this…I need your help.  You have been walking in the forest lately, have you not?”

“Yes,” Aiden replied.

“And you have noticed, of course, how few animals there have been of late?”

“Erm, yes, of course,” Aiden replied, sensing the question was leading him there.  In truth he had hardly noticed much in the forest.  Beyond whoever was with him at the time.

“I suspect that it is caused by Fawn’s absence,” Benvolrr replied.  There was something of a chuckle in his voice, and Aiden wondered how closely he had been watched on his excursion.  He very much hoped that the god did not want to discuss his ambles in the new spring warmth.  “I have not seen her for two weeks.  Longest I’ve seen since we first met.  Usually if she is going hunting or Watching or pushing the mountain into a different shape she sends a message, but I haven’t gotten one.  I have scouts through the mountain, but they’ve told me nothing.”  His voice, previously gruff with a growl in it, seemed to grow just a little bit desperate.  “If something’s happened to her…If someone has hurt her…” His voice returned to gruffness. “I want to know if she’s been seen in any of the villages outside the mountain.  You’ll find the road makes a ring all the way around.  I want you to go to Freiburg, the village below this one, and see if you can learn anything.”

“But I have training,” he said.  “The Preists say they want me to go on some special exercises before I turn 19, to speed up my training into the priesthood.”

Benvolrr looked at him, those vivid eyes dripping with sarcasm.  “Because you won’t get any exercise at all in seeing more of the world beyond this little village and walking with wolves.”

“What? Walking with wolves?”

“When you leave today at noon,” Benvolrr said, “you will meet a young wolf who will accompany you.  I have chosen you because you both are drawing close to the age for your respective priesthoods but neither are old enough to really matter yet.  Now get dressed and packed.”

“Wait!” Aiden protested.  “Why can’t you go looking for her yourself?”

The god’s blue eyes went red and his voice thundered out.  “FOOLISH BOY!  DO YOU THINK THERE IS NOTHING ELSE GOING ON IN THE WORLD?  THE BEARS ARE WAKING, THE BIRDS ARE RETURNING, ANALACH DRAWS NEAR, AND THE STORM IS COMING.  GREATER AND MORE TERRIBLE THAN EVER BEFORE.  HANSEL AND GRETEL, SCREAMING OUT IN THE NIGHT.”  His eyes quieted.  Aiden nodded, a thousand more questions now rocketing around in his mind, and reached for his clothing on the bedside table.

Ariedor stannds at the Ancestral Gate.
"I remember the combination now!" he says.
The god presses seven runes in an order knowed only by him.
The ancestral gate opens. A portal appears in the gate. Ariedor enters the portal. He is now in the cosmic library.
"Gardonius! Gardonius! Are you here?" Ariedor shouted.
Nobody answers.
"Gardonius left. Where did he go? If he is not here, I will find that book without his help. If he finds me here, he will be very angry on me. What book do I need? Maybe it's name is Ancient Artefacts of Great Power. Something like that."
Ariedor looks through the books.
"An empty space? This is why Gardonius left. I won't be the first who takes a book from his library."
Near that space is the book Ariedor needs.
"I found it. Now what should I do? To let him a message. Maybe not. Now I should return to the portal quickly before he returns."
Ariedor leaves the library.
"Well, let's start reading."
Ariedor reads this book. After 2 hours he finds what he seeks.
"Well, this is what I need to know. Combining this with the other six cristals and a magical sword hidden by the gods, we may create the Divine Sword of Eternal Elements. I should keep this book, I will need it in the future. Gardonius will be mad, if he sees another book which was taken from his library."
Ariedor opens the book at the Crisatal of Eternal Earth.
"I know where this cristal is!"

Vigitar had an unsettling dream last night. Something he never liked even if he had the boy to take the shock. He dreamed of white banners. carried before demons and dragons. Then he dreamed of a massive army filled with hordes of demons, undead, defilers, dragons, bandit raiders etc...

THE SERPENT GOD'S ARMY HAD RETURNED! He needed to help the empire... But what about the atheist? He will surely collapse as soon as the war is starting and Vigitar can't allow the serpent to obtain the device... He decided that the captain and the white-cloak monks are able enough to track the atheist down, at least, he hoped.

He returned to the palace of the eastern empire.

The boy hadn't felt so good in years. He never felt so alive and happy, but this had to end, sadly...

He screamed, lashed, tossed and turned in his sleep as he saw all the unimaginable horrors and future possibilities...

He saw the strict orders that led to (temporary) victory against the dark warriors who will assault the frontier.

But the white-cloak saw that the eastern empire was fewer in numbers than the dark forces threatening us...

He would need to pay a visit to some of the other, stronger gods.

OOC: I didn't tell anyone it's the serpent god, so u can all back down and edit a bit?

Ariethalas was taking a last look of the inn. He had sensed another presence in the room, but just as he had tried to track it down, it had faded away. Finish his ale, he payed to innkeeper and left.
It was dark outside, and the rain was just about to start. He had reached Kanyn just a few minutes ago and even though the elder would dislike being bothered in late hour, Ariethalas had no choice. He was now standing before the gates of the temple of Arie. Built by massive marble, the building looked ancient and new at the same time. After some apologies of disturbing the elder in the beginning of the night, Areithalas entered.
The elder was, as they always had been, tall, with silver hair and beard reaching the ground. He was dressed and a completely white priest suit, with Arie's staff in his hand.
- What do you want this late, young one? the elder said.
- My deepest apologies, master, but I fear something is troubling Her.
- Now what? Ariethalas, isn't it? You are far too young to speak with such confidence. I have the wishes of Her as my only ambition.
- Forgive me master, I did not mean to show disrespect. My midn is simply troubled since I was awaken in my dreams without a message from the Arions.
The elders eyes became shocked for an instance, then quickly resumed their arrogant style.
- And with that you want to say what?
- I believe that Her wishes is challanged, master. Do you know anything about this?
  The elder seemed to think over the question, and then said;
- Guards, leave! This is private affairs in the interest of Herself.
After the guards was out, he resumed;
- I guess I haven't been all honest with you, boy. It is true that something is troubling Her. In fact, something is coming that brings sorrow to all of the gods.
- What is happening then, master?
- I had a vision, from Her. I saw how a giant serpent devoured the Eastern lands, and this serpent became so confident in himself that he challanged the gods, and killed the most fo them.
- This cannot be true! the boy shouted, She would never let anything like this happen.
- Even our godess have her superiors. This, serpent, is something out of ordinary. We will have to resume our talk tomorrow, my mind must have rest for now.
As Ariethalas left the room, the elder shrug his head and sat down at the table.
- I am sorry for what I am doing, but it is all in the favour of you, one and only Godess.

'oh bugger!' thought Kamisani. his ideal life style had now be thrown out the window and was now in tatters all over the flower bed. gods were popping up all over the place, the snake had decided to slither out and cause trouble, the other gods were busy persecuting each other in order to find some kind of "Traitor" in their midst (no-one touched him, he was in charge of the press they got!).
"this is going to get sticky!" he said. He was a fairly old god, as old as any form of communication would go, and so over time he had developed a few relationships with the "Forgotten gods". it was time to pay the three lovely women a visit. he drew himself a door and opened it.
"Ladies, its so good to see..."
*Thwack*
*Crack*
*Crunch*
Past slapped him across the face with her leathery bag, Present slapped him again with the Pram for her baby, and Future, being the more rebellious, kicked him in the groin with her Nurox.
"You Call now!" Past shrieked, cranky old witch that she was. "After promising me a come-back tour and leaving me here with those two!"
"You Call now!" Present Cried, busily caressing her bugle of six months (again) "After setting me up with none other than Vigitar, who left me back here with these two, when I told him I was pregnant!"
"and after next weeks date," muttered future, lighting her cigarette, "I'm not going to help you much, either."
"I... guess this is the... wrong time to call... in a favour!" Kamisani wheezed as he busily fumbled to try and see if everything was in working order. "I need a favour from you, Future, Whats going to happen next!"
"make sure that this is going to be a NICE restaurant!"
"Only the best!"
"Promise?"
"I know the guy who runs one of the best restaurants in Bijang!"
Future Kissed him (this was not out of affection, but it was the way that all the Women of fate transmitted information). as her tongue rolled around his, Kamisani began to see the future, events that he could only dream of, Terrible disasters, life-saving rescues, new civilisations, and most recently and most destressingly
"Oh no!"
the two parted, Kamisani straightened his hat, Future fiddling with dress.
"Was that really necessary, Four-arms?!"
"Sorry, Got carried away, I've been partying with Keif too much."
"Remember, Kamisani, you've seen the future, and you can only use that information to keep yourself alive. IF you Try and Change it, and if you leave me with the bill..." Future drew her thumb across her throat in a quick gesture, "You are F***ing dead!"

"The Cristal of Eternal Earth is in the forest. It is guarded by a treant, a druid and a dragon. The treant is weak to fire, and the druid's weakness is a close fight. The dragon has no resistance and no weakness, so it will be harder to fight him." says Ariedor.
Ariedor uses the Ancestral Gate to bring Nienor, Kaelyn, Casavir and Stephan at the castle.
"I have a plan how to obtain the Cristal of Eternal Earth! Kaelyn, you will stay at an entrance to the forest, and Casavir and Stephan will stay at other entrences. When I will cast the spell Firebolt toward the sky, you three will burn the forest, so nobody will obtain the cristal. Nienor, you will come with me."
The god opens four portals. Casavir, Stephan and Kaelyn pass through three of them. Ariedor changes his form to became the Golden Phoenix.
"Nienor, follow me! I will take you to the place where the cristal is!"
And the god passes through the last portal. Ariedor and Nienor are in the forest.
A treant appears near them. He trows some boulders toward Ariedor, but he misses the god. Ariedor attacks the treant, who starts to burn. Bursting in flames, the treant falls and the second guardian appears.
"You have defeated the first guardian. Let's see if you can defeat me."
The druid casts Lightning on the Phoenix. Ariedor leaves Nienor on ground. The god changes to his human form. He comes close to the druid. The druid starts to channel his mana in a powerfull attack. But the god is near the druid and he hits him. The druid can't concentrate enough to continue the spell, so he must restart the process. Ariedor hits the druid with his swords and the second guardian dies. A gate opens and a dragon appears.
Ariedor changes to his Phoenix form. Nienor rides him. Ariedor channels his energy in Nienor's arrow. Nienor fire an arrow towards the dragon. In the same moment the dragon opens his mouth. The arrow hits the dragon in his throat. The dragon falls. The gate of the temple opens. Ariedor takes the cristal.
"We have the cristal! Now let's get out of there."
Ariedor opens teleports him and the other to the castle.
"We have two cristals. Now we need to find the other cristals. I will start to read about the Cristal of Eternal Air."
The others leave the castle. Only Ariedor remains.
"When should I will return this book to Gardonius?"

Ariethalas was walking on a small path though the forest. The conversation with the elder filled his mind, as he was trying to understand just exactly what the old man meant. The second talk had not been so promising as the first one, the elder has simply instructed him to find and awaken the other demigods. Supposedly this danger was something that hadn't happened in a long time. The elder had been looking quite pale during their talk.
As he continued his confused thinking, it started to rain. Almsot as a reflex he created a barrier to keep him dry.
'If the things that are going on now are so epic, why was I awaken. I am not the strongest nor the wisest of us. It would make much more sens to awaken Arieganatos. He had surpassed the old masters and was showing great potential.' Just as he was entering the forest he sensed that...something...was heading his way, at a frightening speed.

Vigitar immediately teleported back to the search party and talked to the captain: "report?", "well, the atheist is cunning, but he didn't count on the fact some priests are master-trackers. We will find him within two days", the captain replied. *hint hint*

In the ruined temple of the forgotten gods, the patiently waiting Garrdonius decided to take a look around the temple. Unabled to help remembering everything about the building and what happened there.

He remembers clearly how he and his companions decided to split ceuntries ago and Garrdonius himself returning to his library, how he and his companions banished Zual-Dhar, How he was the most respected god of all, how he was featured in the bestselling issue of "Playgod" -magazine and most of all how he rose to power with "The Book of the Creators". (By the way, this was from freshest memory to oldest memory.)

The last one mentioned above is the one that will be told in a more detailed manner.

A very long time ago Garrdonius, The God of Knowledge and Wisdom decided to build a library and collect books for the library. He travelled far and wide collecting common books, arcane tomes and diaries.

After his long and gruesme quest he returned to the library with a dizzying amount of books. All the scholars and mages said: "If you say that there's no book about the subject in Garrdonius's library then you are lying." Garrdonius himself scoffed at that kind of speech for he had never found a book wich could help him understand himself and the other gods.

One night when Garrdonius was inspecting his library he noticed that there was an extra book in there. The book was titled: "The Book of the Creators". Garrdonius inspected the book and found a note between its pages saying:

"We hope that this will help you understand."

The book's contents was about the anatomy of a god and the structure of their souls and how things are different from other beings. Garrdonius attempted to study the book, but was constantly bothered by his worshippers and his duties in the library. One day he grew so angry that he closed his library and warped it into another dimension where he could study the book in peace and be able to understand it.

After ceuntries of study and experimentation he returned to the mortal relam as Garrdonius, The God of Lesser Deities. Understanding the structure of gods and how it's different from other beings and having lived in a spectral like relam for ceuntries he had recieved power over insubstantial things, but his time in the other dimension with many external sources of magic power he was no longer able to conjure his own magic. The people of the mortal relam had mostly forgotten him and worshipping new gods. Garrdonius became respected by the new gods due to Garrdonius having such great wisdom, knowledge and power. Garrdonius even fathered a few gods.

Remembering the past and having a whole ****load of flashbacks he was rudely awakened from his state of wandering thought by a roaring dragon. The dragon breathed fire on Garrdonius, but missed and Garrdonius was already running towards the dragon to attack. Without even realising it, Garrdonius had conjured a spectral blade and sunk it deep into the dragon. The dragon shrieked in pain even though the blade didn't rend its flesh at all. Confused by this, Garrdonius dropped his guard and the dragon that had already recovered from Garrdonius's attack, swiped Garrdonius with his claws wounding Garrdonius pretty bad. Garrdonius was on his knees and the dragon approached him to finish him off.

Garrdonius was afraid that this was the end and did not understand how did a sword appear into his hands even though he wasn't able to conjure his magic without.... An external source of power? Garrdonius rose on his feet and ran at the dragon again. The dragon was too slow to react in time. Garrdonius sunk his left hand into the dragon's chest like the hand wasn't even there and ripped the dragon's soul clean off and with the specral sword he was still holding in his right hand, he impaled the dragon's soul.

The dragon's corpse collapsed on the floor and Garrdonius fell on his knees and the wound that the dragon's claws made was bleeding.

Garrdonius noticed a glowing magic crystal that was behind the dragon. "So that was the external source," he muttered by himself and thought: "If nobody finds me in here I'm going to 'die'... I wonder how that works when you are a god? Why didn't the book say anything about that?" Then Garrdonius lied down in a comfortable way and attempted to reduce the bleeding.

Zual-Dhar slithered into a huge crypt and snapped his fingers. Several torches were engulfed in green flames, and one could clearly see three ancient statues of stone and black marble positioned in three corners of the chamber.
“Still you are set in stone, as I left you… Still you stand as a reminder of the past times, of times of darkness and betrayal… Hah. Darkness falls and rises again, and you shall be its heralds as it was in the old days.”
The Serpent-God turned to the first statue, representing a giant creature looking like a rugged, muscular human with the lower body of a scorpion. A large, scorpion claw, replacing his left arm, was risen in the sky in a pose of bloody triumph.
Then he glanced at the second one, a grotesquely grinning man with a scarred face, in a mystic runic robe and a skull lying gently upon his hand. A stone spider was present upon the skull, as if petrified in the middle of a movement. An empty hole stood where his right eye should be.
Finally, he gazed upon the third figure, a tall, human-looking being, completely clad in terrifying, shadow-black armor emanating an aura of dread and terror, holding a flamberge sword by his side, a black stallion carved in the armor of his chest. Not an inch of his body could be seen – not even the eyes. He even had no breathing holes on his helmet.
Zual-Dhar was silent for a long time, his eyes closed in thought, memories flowing through his immortal mind as fish schools pass through seas. Then, without another word, he raised both his arms and whispered a divine chant, his godly voice stretching to the ends of time and space, going far beyond the borders of reason, and yet returning home for supper. He finally finished with the words “Emne sythal argenna sakhamnet” and stopped. For a few seconds nothing happened, and then, like a lightning cracking the sky after hours of stagnant cloudiness, he shook and trembled and green light surged from his arms, eyes and mouth in a godly scream that shook the core of the Halls as if the fortress was but a leaf. The statues broke, at least their outer, stone layers, and three creatures fell to the ground, liberated from the endless slumber within forms of stone. The Scorpion-Man roared, the scarred apparition hissed and the dark knight was silent as death, as all three slowly rose and turned their heads toward Zual-Dhar. The Serpent-God opened his eyes, which glittered in the dancing green light like two vile stars.
“Spider, steed and scorpion… Welcome back.”

"The Cristal of Eternal Air is hidden very well in a TORNADO? This will be challenging. How should I get there?" Ariedor reads.
Ariedor has in his hands the Cristals of Eternal Fire and of Eternal Earth.
Stephan comes through a portal at the castle gate.
"Ariedor, Sunflame village is under attack by goblins from underground tunnels!"
"Underground tunnels?! Thanks for the idea! I will come there now!" the god shouted.
"Maybe these tunnels have an exit to the heart of the storm! This is something very usefull!"
Ariedor and Stephan teleport to Sunflame village.
"Help! Help! We're under attack!" a villager shouted.
The heroes enter the tunnels. They are attacked by 100 goblins. Ariedor casts Fireball using the Cristal of Eternal Fire. All the goblins start to burn.
"Stephan kill the other goblins! I must go through the tunnels inside a tornado!"
"Yes, master!"
Ariedor exits the tunnels. He is in the Heart of The Tornado.
He sees a cristal. Ariedor changes to his angel form and flies to the cristal. He takes it. The tornado disappear. Ariedor returns to the tunnels and he kills the remaining goblins.
"Sunflame village is safe!" shouts a villager.
Ariedor returns to Silverlight castle.
"I have three cristals. I need to find the other four."

OOC: I've almost claimed the device...

BIC: the atheist was close, very close... The soldiers could easily distinguish tracks and marks of small campfires etc.

We figured that the atheist was one day behind... The only thing that could go wrong, is whether he knows I'm a god... That would be terrible...

I decided to look into the future without the boy as a medium...

I saw that the captain had a slightly smaller margin of succes without me, but the margin still was about 9 out of 10 times...

The evening was a cold one in the woodlands following the course of the Nameless River, the sun slowly but surely creeping downward below the meridians in the distance.  Aetherann had assumed mortal form this time, true incarnation as one of them - just as he had done when confronting the first soul to set foot in the Point of Ascent for ten centuries.  The old spire was of the ethereal world, invisible in this spacetime to the mortal gaze and unaffected by the actions of humanity.  Aetherann suspected divine intervention from one of his old friends, turned adversaries... the Serpent.

All the trinkets of old, typical prophecy and legend were falling into and out of their hands.  They were awakening - the gods, all of them, were awakening, and their losses and victories were coming in broad confluence at breakneck speed.  Already Garrdonius had lost his precious little book, Ariedor had obtained numerous crystals, Benvolrr's acolytes were rising under his will and Kamisani was out in the middle of it, barking in that peculiar language of otherworldly profanities and human words from this bleak future known not to any child of the Prime Pantheon.  Aetherann stood at the sidelines, watching, awaiting the time to act.  But Zual-Dhar had acted first.

Disposing of the intruder, Morlis, was no mean feat.  A simple gesture was enough to wrench the essence from his body and trap it in the cold embrace of the stars.  The quasigod hadn't even needed to break out a Glyph to dispose of the thief, though he knew they'd send more.  Morlis hadn't borne the mark of the Serpent-God, but his motivation was clear, if somewhat indirect.  Zual-Dhar was sending "representatives" to each member of the Prime Pantheon - not with any intent to overcome them... just as a warning of what was to come.

The Aether Centurions were dead and all of their spires crumbled, save the Point of Ascent which pierced the heavens - the last respite of Aetherann himself.  And the followers of Balance were dwinding in the Eastern Empire as newer deities became imposed upon the citizens.  The time for action would come, but not today.  Not until justice and balance had been made secure, not until old friends and enemies had been consulted.  Aetherann's thoughts shifted from melancholy to Xacondriel, the dual-bladed, electric weapon he carried as he strode alongside the Nameless River, seeking Nur...

"The Cristal of Eternal Water is hidden in a river. Good place! It is protected by water and ice elementals. Fire will defeat them easily."
Ariedor takes the cristal of fire. He enters the Ancestral Gate. He is now in a river.
"I need to use fire to defeat those elementals."
Elementals appears near the god. Ariedor casts firebolt on the water elemental and he evades the ice elemental Frostball.
"Something powerfull to destroy them, what should it be? I know!"
Ariedor casts a powerfull spell.
"ARMAGEDEON" shouts the god.
A powerfull ball of fire comes from the sky and it hits the river. It explodes burning everything. The elementals are dead.
The Cristal of Eternal Water is on the altar of a temple. Ariedor tries to take it. A spirit appears near Ariedor and he says:
"You must not take this cristal, minion of the Serpent God!"
"I am Ariedor, god of light, guardian spirit. Give me the cristal!"
"If you're Ariedor change to a Phoenix."
"I know the trick. The water will kill me. Now, give me the cristal!"
"NEVER!!!!!"
The spirit casts Freeze on Ariedor, but the god blocks the spell using the Cristal of Eternal Fire. Ariedor casts Armaggedeon again and the spirit is destroyed. The god takes the Cristal of Eternal Water and he teleports back to Silverlight Castle.
"Four cristals, three to go!"
Ariedor reads the book for the location of another cristal.
"The Cristal of Eternal Energy is hidden in a ..."

As night comes the river is getting a teal glow. It is the crystals sunk underwater, a manifestation of Nur on the mortal plane, which is showing its unnatural power.

Aetherann's stare is focused on the water. The river seems to dance in the moonlight, making tides strong and furious.

We are happy you came, Master. Something has happened. Our Lord is about to awake.

Aetherann has been so delighted with the river appearance he even hadn't noticed someone is standing right behind his back.

Then a pillar of water arose from the Nameless River and Nur himself appeared on the top of it.

The group of people behind Aetherann knelled.

A tubby voice spoke:

Aetherann! Good to see you my friend!

I welcome you, Nur.

Arise, my clerics. I noticed a terrible disturbing of my energy... What have happened?

We have sad news, Master. The temple... ruined... the Crystal... the Crystal is stolen!

What? Who dared...

It's Ariedor, my Lord. The guardians are massacred. He stroke them even without warning.

It is the god of Light and Life, who stoles our Crystal, destroys my holiest temple, breaks the pact, and kills holy guardians created by me, the god of water and the Snow Lady years ago to protect this sacred place and the Crystal of Ethernal Water. Let's see what Vitinienquea intends to do with it!

In this moment water from the river shaped into a horse and Nur rode to the kingdom of Snow Quenn. The clerics, who were still standing there, spoke to Aetherann:

Please help us, Master. Without the Crystal Nur is going to vanish from mortal realm and leave the people he loves. Look. Water level already began to drop. If we won't stop it, it dissapears.

He gazed deep into the eyes of the blue-robed clerics, each of them glazed over with a faint, moist aquamarine hue.  Nur had sped off for the Snow Queen's palace sooner than Aetherann could even ask his opinions and thoughts on the actions Zual-Dhar was plotting to take.

Well, it was clear that Nur had abandoned his neutral stance, clearly planning to wage war on Ariedor for the Crystal.  Before the quasigod stood twenty robed clerics, expecting his next move... expecting this friend of their god to attend to the needs and wishes of their own.

Nur's motives were clear: he sought survival, and war was the only way to achieve it.  Aetherann wondered: was he as desperate as his old comrade?  Were all the gods woven from strands of black and white thread, evil and good?  No, Aetherann knew.  He embodied balance, justice and neutrality.  He was the grey thread, but now these clerics looked to him for a swaying of the balance in their favour...

"Your justice requires the return of this water Crystal?" he asked them.

"It does," they chanted together.  These disciples even thought the same things at the same time.  "For Nur, for the Nameless River, we shall retrieve it."

"Then I approve of any actions you deem necessary.  I will guide each of you and walk at your side as you chase Ariedor, the rogue god.  He seeks Eternal Energy - trace his stride, follow his footsteps and confront him.  I am sure Nur and the Snow Queen will return before then - so look to your own deities, not to me."

Aetherann flexed his cloaked hand, and Xacondriel appeared in his grasp by divine magics.  He raised his head to the sky and instantly vanished, leaving twenty bewildered, lost Clerics standing there agape.  It was time to have words with Zual-Dhar himself...

"The Crystal of Eternal Energy is in a ... NOT AGAIN!! WHO IS AT THE DOOR?!!!!!!!!" shouts Ariedor.
He opens the door. A man wearing a silver robe enters the castle.
"I am Erevan Ilesere, a prophet and I came here to tell you that you are in danger."
"I am in danger??!!!!"
"Yes, other gods have heard of you stealing the Crystal of Eternal Water..."
"And they want to take it back!"
"Yes, and those gods are Nur and the Snow Queen. They want to return the Crystal back to the river!"
"Now I need to not be found by them!"
"Things are worse, they have heard of your quest to find the Crystal of Eternal Energy! And if they will hear that you stole one of Gardonius books, he will ally with them!"
"Do you know what should I do?"
"The only way to enter the castle is to use the Ancestral Gate! So you should close it after you find the seven crystals. Tell Casavir, Stephan, Nienor and Kaelyn to protect the castle when you will be left!"
"Thanks for your advise! You are welcome to live here if you want! You are a very good man!"
"Thanks, my master! I will remain here! Take the Crystals with you! You are a powerfull god so they won't have a chance to take the Crystals. And I almost forgot! The Crystal is in a Nexus of great power, but you don't know where it is! The Nexus is to the North of the city of Azurehalls."
"Azurehall! I will go there at once!"
Ariedor teleports to Azurehall. He goes to the Nexus. Lightning from a Crystal strikes near the god. After that thousands of Lightning bolts are casted by the Crystal, but the Silver swords of Ariedor absorbs them.
"Silver absorbs Energy! A good discovery!"
The Crystal casts Chain Lightning, but the Energy is absorbed. Ariedor takes the Crystal of Eternal Energy.
"Times is running out. I have to find the last two Crystals."
Ariedor returns to Silverlight Castle. He has five Crystals.
"Armies of light come here!"
"I have prepared a room for a ritual. If we are attacked, I will start that ritual and I will destroy the Crystal of Eternal Water" says Kaelyn.
"Good idea! When they attack, start the ritual. I will leave them a note on the door."
The archers are on the walls, swordsman protect them, catapults are prepared to fire and the knight are prepared to fight. Mages are in the towers and they are ready to use their scrolls and spells. They are ready for an attack. The ritual is almost ready to begin and it will take two minutes to end it. The Crystal will be destroyed, if the enemy attacks. The room of the ritual is locked.
"WE WILL TAKE OUR STAND HERE! THE ONLY ENTRANCE IS THE ANCESTRAL GATE! WE ARE READY FOR THE ATTack! IF THEY ATTACK, THEY WILL LOSE, IF THEY DON'T, WE WILL WIN WITHOUT ANY LOSSES! FOR SILVERLIGHT CASTLE, FOR SUNFLAME VILLAGE AND FOR ALL OF OUR VILLAGES, FAMILIES AND HOMES! FOR LIGHT!", the god shouts. "THE HALLS OF THE CASTLE ARE PROTECTED. NOBODY SHALL ENTER. HERE WE WILL TAKE OUR STAND. IF THEY ATTACK, THEN WE WILL DEFEAT THEM. FIGHT FOR THE LIGHT! BE READY FOR THE ATTACK! WE WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Ariedor, Nur is getting weaker and weaker. He will die, if he don't get the Crystal. So if we will hold the enemy at the gates, the enemy will lose an ally. If Gardonius attacks us, we will burn his library. This will convince him to retreat there" says the Prophet.
"We are ready for the battle!" shout the warriors. "Let's defend the castle!"

Ariethalas ran. Whatever that was following him, it was starting to come closer, and it seemed vicious. Airethalas was terrified. Whatever that thing was, it was strong as hell. He didn't have time for this. He had to hurry up, the town of Vernati was his next stop, where Ariegalor was resting.
He had also sensed a lot of changes of the balance. Something was happening, and if even he was able to detect it, it could be nothing lesser than real gods acting in the mortal world. Something terrifieng was to happen, he was now conviced of that.
Now he just had to hope that he would reach Vernati in time. The 'thing' was still coming closer, even though Ariethalas run as fast as his human shell allowed him to. If things turns out bad, he may have to fight this, whatever it is.
