Thats snowed up. I had Vlaad and a couple of other guys playing this map a couple of months ago and none of them ever had any troubble getting past this tower fight. Troubles came later on, but becuase of other stuff that wasnt done yet. Stuff that are done now. Im really surprised by this, and IŽll give it another go myself.

And IŽll add to the "note" event at day 1 that creature upgrade from 7 to 8 should be enabled, because otherwise its practicly impossible to finish the map.

IŽll upload some different save files and let you go from there if you wanna Salamandre.

I think they used default options, and not me. You can also have a dat.file which will memorize your settings and then the map will run for everybody with your settings.

I saved you some time and started it at "Hard" at AI exp. This is right before the battle so you actually get to play it yourself. Alot easier at hard compared to impossible

Also added in the "note" event that Impossible isnt recomended. I tried too now just at impossible and couldnt win. Didnt have problem before though. Tricky :S

its the settings the player should use. Hard can be changed into Expert if you really want some hard battles.

edit: "Hard" at AI exp settings is perfect I think. The player can win all the battles by building massive armies and than face ACE AI, or the player can go fast and face AI with lower exp. Im thrilled to see how you find the next couple of battles!

The path to the dat file needs to be scripted in the map to work. Are those your definitive settings? I can do it for you.

I had only this weekend for playing, as starting from tomorrow all my students (32) will graduate so I will be busy. But next week I am in holidays and I will restart. I will also add a few layout scripts which will change nothing but messages design, so you can see by yourself what are the possibilities.

I made a correct dat file, as yours did not allow to upgrade titans neither.

But I have a hard time with your map. It has very nice design but it is confusing in quests and patfinding:

I am month 5 and I have to walk weeks for each quest. Go there, it ask some artefact/creature, return, get it, return, give it, advance a few steps, another quest, return, search for it, get it, return...

I have 61 lords of thunder and I passed the labyrinth (which will really piss of the players). After that, I took the fortress towns, the 3 strongholds and tried to advance without success. A town portal would be great, as I have 61 titans since I leaved the first area, and the scouts do not know water walk, so they can't supply.

Herr Rosa never came, as he does not recruit enchanters. You may want to script something to remove the barrier.

I am already full of artefacts, and can't get additional ones. If I give some artefact to some scout, then 5 weeks later I am stuck in front of a gate who ask it. Remove any artefact not needed. Many of your custom artefacts were find and duplicated in water. I got the wizards well 3 times and statue of legion 2 times.

The story talks a lot and it is nice. But does not help at all.

I could take the purple tent from behind. I don't know why, but Mutare Drake can't learn pathfinding, which is frustrating, as most of the terrain is swamp/snow.

Some events gave me several kind of dragons but I had to refuse as I was full. No scouts behind to replace. I got a hafling, an enchanter and a fire bird. I gave the enchanter to the gate and it says to keep the fire bird. Man...how am I supposed to fight legions every where and keeping a fire bird alive? If you give a creature month 3 when the quest asking it is month 6, then something is wrong.

The labyrinth needs some serious scripting, as your message about directions showed up 1 month after it was done. I had to switch between editor and game 40 times to find a way and survive. I guess a different design would help also...have you ever look at labyrinths from Unleashing and TEWI and II? It may give you the idea.

The battles are not hard, but long, as defeating with 60 lords 50k creatures takes a lot. I got force field + berserk and now it is the same pattern each battle, with slight variations. Hopefully I got an ammo cart in strongholds.

Right now I am stuck month 5 with 61 lords. I can return home and recruit 100 more but it will take me one month to travel and there is also the labyrinth...I think I will skip it until you provide a walk through. Could be very good still. But needs testing.

I guess it is confusing. IŽve played it several times and also made it myself so for me it is crystal clear. The problems you have are problems I have never seen. Obviously I should do something about it. IŽve started adding these scripts for the quests (central view).

About the maze - best would be if I could place a scroll by the Maze which gives the player the way through. That would of course kill the whole story behind it, but I guess it is nessessary. Can it be done? And btw, if you just go straight north youŽll have to fight 600 azureŽs three times and you can make the maze in one move (if you have navigation, otherwise two) with close to no losses, and also visit the GOD. There are like 3 battles in the maze that cannot be made, other than that you should be able to be victorius in all of them with relative ease.

This firebird that gives you troubble. You can leave it in a castle until you need it. IŽll make it clearer in the Quest guards when you visit them the first time what you should do with it. I must say though that I dont wanna do too much as it will ruin the map imo. For me it was a part of the plan that protecting the looney halfling should be done (you can of course wait to take him and just do it later on).

The portal leading you to the dwarf mines asks for 1 phoenix and 1 archangel, those are the only "going there, then there" quests you have to do. I guess by what youŽre saying that you didnt find it?

IŽll solve the artefact problem too, and the purple tent is made that way. You can either go the long way for weeks and fight the Lords of Thunder, or you can go behind and just take it the fast way.


IŽll make a walkthrough and upload it. I also add some screens of important events in the map. And IŽll rewrite the quest guards so youŽll understand them clearer. Your heroes should all have waterwalk and have the possibility to travel over the water from the first two castles right down to the Strongholds.

The problem is that they don't have it and the scholar guy is coming with advanced scholar. By the time he is released the area is cleaned so there are no more fights to do. Also, having only 2 scouts (him and Solmyr) makes the supply pattern to be very long (about a week to walk between the 3 towers, then a week to bring them).

Now that I think, it will be better to keep the 2 legions of zombies near the necro for the 2 scouts so they could get some skills. Why pathfinding has to be disabled from map?

Please make a short walkthrough of how you play it, so I can check what I did wrong and why. I want to finish it.

Hahaha when I first started making the map and realized I wanted it to be XL I disabled Pathfinding and Logistics so that the player couldnt travel far. That pathfinding isnt there must just be something from old times.

Im writing the walkthrough atm you should have it soon. Sent you some other stuff on mail

Um...no. You just said "go north" but I did not think "go north for 4 weeks after bringing to him the scholar hero so he can learn water walk+summon boat, then sail 4 weeks finding your way through millions of events/fights until you reach 80 squares norther the dwelling"

What? There isnt a single fight to go through in order to reach the angel dwelling. You also dont have to meet up with the scholar hero right away. Just take him directly north. ItŽll just take a week or so. No battles. No biggies

There is a fact very annoying. in the last version you sent me you removed the Altair of transformation. Obviously the map was tested with the Altair, so now I just spent hours to find that the AI has thousand of creatures while I have small stacks from every faction. With the altair I would have 800 lords but now I have 400 of them, 150 behemots, 150 dragons, 150 hydras and so on...They don't stand a chance.

Each fight is a long run with resurrect casted 50 times at least. You may want to give more SP to the player so he will not break his fingers.

I am stuck at the 6 heros behind the gate. I killed 5 of them, but the one with 720x7 phoenix is just impossible. Speed is everything (28), they have fire shield so I take huge loss when I hit them. All my creatures are gone. All the AI creatures are immune to blind/slow so there is no chance to resurrect anything before the battle is done.

Aoch. True that. I did play and test with the Altar, but now I removed it due to Lords of Thunder as they became the main army when the map is set out to be about dragons. In all honestly though - you can just wait with opening that gate and gather snowloads of Dragons from the dragon cliff. Takes forever though I guess. But I need to lower/change the Phoenix guy it looks like.

Cheat your way through him btw. Collect 10k Black dragons, kill him with them, delete them and take your army back and continue.

The dragons are not good in any single map. They can't be resurrected, cloned, boosted. The lords of thunder are much better. I use the warlords banner to double their speed so now they are as fast as a phoenix.

I made my way until I meet Gathran. Not that they are difficult but you gave dispel/sacrifice to almost all bosses and this make the game crash 100%. I can not complete the fight with Galthran because he tries dispel or animate dead and the game freeze. In all my maps I removed those 2 spells because of that bug.

Also it is obvious that the altair had his role, many quests ask a lot of creatures (700 champions, 250 war unicorns) and with a growth of 6 champions/week I maybe get them month 24.

Buuhuuu! Do I really need to put it back!? My draaaagons! I could give the player the ord of Vulnerbility instead, right?
