Mvass, your sarcasm without giving any hints of sarcasm is really hard to detect, just so you know. But since you bumped the thread with "And now he's dead" I think you're on the same boat with Omega and I.

It's not immature. I don't think dying exempts people from negativity, and I know you'd agree with me since you made far far more lewd comments in the Michael Jackson thread. I think Kennedy was a bad politician, and while death is always a bugger, I genuinely believe the world became a slightly better place on the day he died.

Circumstances outside of the president's direct control are generally what make them famous. Washington, Lincoln, and FDR are all famous American presidents because they happened to be the president during major conflicts. JFK was president during the Cuban Missile Crisis (the peak of tension of the Cold War) and he was assassinated, ergo he's one of the more famous presidents.

You know why he said that.

Politicians who refuse their responisbilities do not stir my sympathies (and others, it seems)

yet again, I doubt anyone wished him cancer, or death.

I think Kennedy was a bad politician and also should've taken full responsibility for his actions. But he should still be appreciated for voting against the Iraq War and trying to save the nation from unnecessary pain.
And I expected left-wing HC to be building him a giant monument by now.

As for the comparison to Michael Jackson, I have more respect for bad politicians than bad "musicians".

I would've voted against Iraq too.
That doesn't change the fact that I'm a hairy Serb. Similarly, this guy still drowned that chick. Unlike Michael Jackson.

As far as I've gathered.

Lol wtf Mvass? Even if Michael did drown society, he didn't actually kill anyone now did he? I'm not even sure about this Edward Kennedy guy but from what I read he did.

Anyway, I was reading about this the other day, and even though he drowned that girl or whatever, R.I.P regardless.

Put it this way. Ted Kennedy did more damage through his legislation than through killing people directly.
Although again I must stress that he voted against the war.

Still I think that killing is more morally objectionable than execute your political agenda through legislation, even if it is crud. And, well, even if he voted against, it didn't really change the outcome in the grand balance of things. Though, of course, it's still better than nothing, but people can't be called great if their accomplishment amounts to one big "I told you so".

so, mvass, his redeeming quality, is the fact that he voted against the Iraq war? Actually, that is not so impressive at all.

refuse their responsabilities? He seemed to be a really good politican and helpd lots of minorities like handicaped people, gays, blacks, hispanics and what you can think off. What's with all the mud throwing? He's supposed to be a bad guy because he killed a lady in an accident? Well... ok it's bad but he can still be a good politician no?

And mvass... you don't like Michael we get it. No need to go on about it in another thread.

I reckon that it's not about killing a lady in an accident but running away afterwards.

Still, I don't hate the guy. I'm just not too moved by his death.
