Which towns are the most stressful to play?

In playing a while back, I realized that I avoided certain towns because I found them tedious and/or stressful to play. Anyone else feel that way? Which towns are most stressful to you? This is purely opinion, but my list looks like...

High stress
Rampart - it's those pesky Grand Elves. Used well, they can be devestating. However, the AI and human players will target them heavily because of their wussy 15 HP. I find myself doing a lot of flip-flopping between heros to only take them into battles where I know they won't die, or battles where I absolutely need them.

Necropolis - harvesting the skellies is slow, then moving across the map onto your main hero can be a pain. The upper level troops are great, but extremely pricey, so I'm usually worried about gold too.

Moderate stress
Inferno - so much to buy, so little gold. Plus the annoyance of convincing the AI to kill your whole stack of little creatures so you can turn them into demons.

Tower - once you get the right units into battle, things tend to go pretty well. You have to protect the mages and gremlins, but once you have titans, that's a ranged threat that isn't so easy to kill! Getting the correct resources for your dwellings is the tough part, especially on the higher difficulty levels.

Fortress - resources to build the dwellings is high, especially for the prized Gorgons. The high defense of the troops and heros make your basic ground units tough to defeat on an open battlefield, which is nice. The flying and range units aren't great in battle, until you get a powerstack of Wyverns from the map. Seiging castles can be a major problems unless you can teleport units over the wall!

Low stress
Castle - getting the resources is a little tough, but otherwise, not a lot of stress. Marksmen die easily, but you can make it just fine without them later on.

Dungeon - you do need a balance of resources to get all the dwellings. Dragons take patience to buy and upgrade the dwelling. In general though, it's not too bad. Battling tends to be pretty low stress, especially once you get Minotaurs to defend your ranged units. Dungeon is difficult early on when you're trying to win with Trogs and Harpies.

Stronghold - most of the Stronghold game is getting Behemoths and making sure they don't die. The good news is even without the upgrade the Behemoth has 180 HP. It can be tough keeping the Thunderbirds alive, and in the early game, keeping the Wolf Raiders alive.

Conflux - some resource management issues, but really, good heros and pretty good troops.

No stress with any of the towns, without Tower... simply because they're incredibly dull to play and it makes me stress to get all those lame skills offered

And obviously, they're starting skills are a pain. A might hero starting with mystisicm and sorcery, and the guy with speciality in ballista don't start with artillery. And what's with the scholar on the might heroes? It freakes me out

Inferno is stressfull. Just try to clear the map with only 45 imps and 8 gogs.

We talking about the town...not the hero. You can play Tower with a barbarian hero also..

Most stressfull town to play for me is Inferno when demon hoarding starts. Much calculating...too much stress for an old man

Indeed you can. Didn't think of it that way. When he said town I counted the native heroes in as well.

Well, I started harvesting demons myself and it's pretty confusion to calculate Demon harvesting is actually very nice, I regret what I said in the thread "Worst Upgrade".

Well, considering the option I will announce Dungeon as the most stressful faction... in the start

When playing at the hardest difficulty you will not get Pillar of Eyes in the start. Not every map you find a pile of each resource right outside your town...
You will then get the mines and get pillar of eyes + Chapel of Stilled Voices(If you can gather enough wood in early game).
But the minotaurs will still be a hard call with 10 ore and 10 gems while the manticores needs sulfur and mercury(If I don't remember wrong).

Pretty hard to get the best start with dungeon when playing the hardest difficulty...

For me the most stressfull town to play is fortress. Week 1 you are often desperately looking for wood (and gold) to build hydras and castle unless you play jebus ofcourse. Your troops are so damn slow that battles often give losses so you really have to think hard to avoid to many losses. And when you finally get your precious hydras your army is still damn slow. So its pretty stressfull attacking shooters cause you know you will take many hits. Futhermore your army is completly worthless if you dont have mass haste. So untill you have that its pretty disastrous if you meet your opponent which is pretty stressfull too.

2nd most stressfull town is inferno. Calculating hp is not stressfull imo but having tons of diffrent stacks and keeping them around for the right moment is somewhat stressfull. Besides that, when do you start to farm? For how long will you wait?, you might find a health art.

Ramp and castle are the least stressfull. Shooters with double shots make things easy and they both have good solid lvl 6 tanks which make taking shooters out easy. The rich grassarea often give an edge on money and resources so not so much to worry about there either.

i find Inferno stressfull because:
1) land is poor (no Crypts)
2) zone is blocked more often than other terrains imho
3) poor shooters
4) hard to manage demon farming...sometimes few creatures from kamikaze stack still stay alive and you just can't kill them and can't summon demons therefore. Often guards kill Pit Lords instead of kamikaze stack and that''s really frustrating
5) only few semi-good starting heroes

I play to relax and I don't think any of the towns are stressful. But sometimes it can be frustrating when you know something should be easy, but isn't.

Like behemoth should be the easiest level 7 to build, but when you just don't have the resources, it can be really frustrating. Same with Rampart when at the end of the first week you only have level 1,3,5 dwells because you don't have crystal and not enough resources to trade for it.

When something is difficult it doesn't bother me when I can't do it. It's when something should be easy and I can't do it that bothers me.

It's stresfull to play with/against slow towns, because it takes so long to move the creatures.

Interesting that a lot of people find Inferno most stressful. I'm not surprised. I don't find Inferno terribly stressful, but part of that may be that my expectations of winning are lower. Early on I think it really helps to buy the Demon Gate -- I usually try on Day 1 if my Level 2 Dwelling is prebuilt. Even 4 Demons can usually dispatch any lower-level creatures that survive a volley from the Gogs. I've experimented a lot, and frequently choose Ignatius as my starting hero. Starting with Tactics is huge, and only becomes more important as you build toward a power stack of demons. His special stinks later, but early on you'd be surprised what the +1 speed for your Imps can do. Calh actually is a very good hero early, but terrible later since his Archery is all but wasted on the Inferno units. Octavia with the +350 gold is a good choice too: by week 2, she'll have basically bought you 3-4 Pit Lords through her special alone.

My 2 cents.

Inferno is stressed and maybe Dungeon if maps have poor resources especially Gem and Sulphur.

Necropolis is great but if your nearest armies shooter based u are trouble with them.

But in your big post above, you said that Fortress was the hardest and Inferno was the 2nd.

Anyway the most stressful town for me is Fortress.
