I'm playing Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion right now, modded to the brink of destruction ofcourse 
Otherwise, I just bought God of War 2 for my Ps2, one of the best games I've ever played.

Some people said "Fable", it reminded me playing the old 2D Fable when I was 10 years old. That Fable was more of a riddles' game. It's a beautiful game. You have to go from a kingdom to a kingdom, finding the myserious stones (emerald in the snow kingdom, sapphire in the underwater kingdom, ruby in the lava kingdom...). *Sinking in Nostalgia*

In my opinion this are the best games I have ever played:
The Homm series, Age of... series, God of war series, Mortal Kombat ser., Shadow of the Colossus, Devil may cry ser., GTA ser, The elder scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion, and my personal favourite : Soul Calibur ser.

I've made my top ten.
1) Heroes V (tbs) + HoF + TotE
2) Civilization IV + Warlords + Beyond the Sword (tbs)
3) Baldur's Gate 1 (no expansions) (rpg)
4) Baldur's Gate 2 + Throne of Baal
5) Age of Kings (AoE2) + Conquests (rts)
6) Warcraft 3 (no expansions) (rts)
7) The Longest Journey (Adventure)
8) Heroes 2 + Prince of Loyalty (tbs)
9) Civilization 3 + expansion packs (both, forgot the names) (tbs)
10) Heroes 3 + Armageddon's Blade + Shadow of Death (without WoG) (rts)
As you can see, I play a lot of Strategy games (almost everything I play is Strategy). I sometimes dare to try a Hack & Slash (like Titan Quest and Dungeon Siege), a Real Life Strategy (the Sims), an Adventure game (Broken Sword, The Longest Journey, Monkey Island) or a Role-Playing Game (Baldur's Gate, Fallout and Icewind Dale)
I should have made a top 20

Most games that I would have suggested are already mentioned above, but there is one game, or series rather, that you absolutly must play.
Metroid.
This is my absolutly favourite game series. I very highly suggest you play these games, they are incredible.
