Relating to what was said above about classics and back to my post earlier:
Either get your hands on a SNES or at least a SNES emulator and play Super Metroid. This game is literally considered the perfect game by thousands and thousands of people. Amazing atmosphere and feel, incredible music and even though it was for the SNES, the graphics were awesome and really added to the gameplay.

cuz normal HL kinda sucks

you are crazy, the original HL was very good, even the expansions were less good , and I also found HL DM better than CS.

otherwise, my favorite games, on my PS2 only :

final fantasy XII
red faction
timesplitters 1, 2 and 3
resident evil 4
deus ex

I think timesplitters 3 is number 1.

I've finished deus ex 4 times I think. the last time it was in realist mode without killing anyone (only stunning them or putting them to sleep)

but I have PoP 3 since more than 2 years I think and haven't finished it.

HL DM is kinda like Quake 3 you know, fun for the first 10 minutes, then brainless action and almost no tactics

Also some maps were too imba

I guess hldm takes more skills than tactics yes, but I guess some maps may be quite tactical.

it has been a long time since the last time I played, I really liked crossfire, the village had a cool design, and it was fun when someone triggered the nuclear attack because everyone began rushing to the military base.

btw, I'm not sure how you can call a dm map imba. I can easily see most mistakes in the layout of a dm map but I would call imba a map made for teams which clearly advantages one of the teams. or maybe you mean maps which advantage a type of player more than another?

Well yeah it's especially fun when you use the Radio Detonators or however they're called. But mostly it's quite brainless; still fun but not in long periods of playing. Even skill you don't need that much, unlike Quake 3 where you constantly fight with the mouse to keep your aim.

Usually, when someone was behind my back, I put a detonator at the button, they pressed it, and boom. They still had to rush to the base then.

When someone gets lucky and spawns in an area where, for example, too many grenades for the ??mp5?? or whatever that gun is (the automatic gun in which you press alternate fire and launch a grenade; it's not M16 at least not the one from reality), he can squish a whole lot of players with ease.

Yeah, even if everyone has equal chance to spawn there, for me the ability for ANY ONE player (even if it is available for ALL) to be too tough is imba.

BTW: I hate symmetrical maps in team-based mods, like Team Fortress Classic. Imba for me does not mean 'unfair' if you know what I mean.

Sorry guys but things will never ever get any better than Zelda Ocarina of Time... (and if you don't believe me take it from Edge magazine.
Perhaps it's because I was a little kid back then but nothing has ever caught me like this game and I doubt any game will ever do that again. Ahh... such a wonderful game.

yeah, I see what you mean, but usually the problem comes both from the layout of the map and the placement of the weapon.

we used to ban the gluon gun (the insanely powerful one which fires a blue ray) and the ??mp5?? was my most used gun. not because of the grenades because I rarely used them, but because I could get a lots of headshots with it.

I personally think it depends of the layout. maybe you don't like them because a lots of symetrical maps look boring? (and I didn't like how the tfc maps looked, which doesn't help )

Yeah, I think I got most headshots with that gun and the shotgun from close combat -- people were telling me how I killed them with the normal fire of the shotgun instead of the alternate one everyone used (when you fire two shots, but the accuracy is horrible).

My most favorite gun is the crossbow (100 damage 1 shot, when you zoom, also VERY fast reload) from distance and shotgun for close combat. I also sometimes "throw away" radio detonators (like grenades) in the middle of combat and explode them immediately -- it was a trick I used that kept everyone blaming me for cheating

OK. Let's see, I can either pick the one I think was funniest to play, or the one that I've had most fun playing. And yeah, there's a huge difference, the first you like very much, but eventually you grow tired of it, when you finnish it or if you've played it too much. The second is a game you play for a while, and then it comes back over and over, I've allways found that the blizzard games comes back for more, while the DnD games are too "worn out", since they allways have the same characters and system. Hope you get the point.

Funniest:
Prince of Persia games
Neverwinter Nights
Red Alert
Heroes III
Diablo
Sheep (Does that count as a game?)
Oblivion
Morrowind

Most Fun With:
Warcraft III
Diablo II
Heroes III
Dungeon Crawl
Starcraft
Morrowind

Please note: There is no specific order since I think it is impossible to rate one great game over the other, especially in the second categori.

EDIT: Adding a third catagori; I realized that I/we should post lists with games that was dissapointments. I think they say more about you're taste than the one you enjoy.

World of Warcraft      This game (in my eyes) was supposed to be a game with epic story line (no story line) that follows up the Warcraft III story. I thought it was supposed to be an RPG with nice level/skill systems (classic lvl(nothing wrong with that) and Diablo II ripoff, but with removed tactical choises, for skill system) there's also a very bad battle system filled with errors (like the fact that NPCs can run through walls, fly and HIT you at great distance). It also said Blizzard on the package, so I supposed it was going to be a good game with good engines and good story.

Bioshock      After all reviews I read, I realized that it wasn't half as RPG like it was said to be, and that the only things that were true in any of those reviews was the fact that it's "outside the box" and has a quite good story line.

EDIT2: Gosh! It suddenly became a very long post!

Okey here is my ranking right now:

1. Medieval: Total War (omg in the next chapter, Empire: Total War the Swedish Empire will FINALLY be playable - my home country ;D )
2. Warcraft 3: TFT
3. World of Warcraft (lol the story is very good, read the quests -.- for example, the Forsaken finally betrayed the Horde and the story is progressing like a Wc3 campaign now because of the new "phasing" technology)
4. HoMM5: TotE
5. Age of Empires III
6. HoMM3: Complete (although cinematics are not shown because I downloaded it from Pirate Bay)

----------------------------

However in the next two months it will be:

1. Tie between Fable 2 and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (omg patch 3.0.2 on wednesday, yay for Stormwind Harbor - Barber Shops - New Spells and Talents - Stormwinds lost king returns - new proffesion etc...)
2. Then the same order as above.

I have not played for months
Okey, sure I logged in and checked the auction house and did my guild and favor and joined a raid dungeon once in a month, but thats all
Everything is boring now (untill the next big update comes on wednesday), you just wait for the expansion.

But as you can see, the next expansion would be tie with Fable 2 in the next following months (because I know that Blizzard expansions are always awesome   )
