Futuristic Heroes

I'm not sure where this topic should go. In essence it is somewhat a concept, yet it's not a proposal, rather a (fun?) thought experiment.

If I'm in the wrong section, please relocate.

The basic question is: If you could imagine Heroes 1500-2000 years into the future, how would you see them?

- Knight's castle:
Take a look around you, we definately went off the deep end, now living in societies where lies, exploitation, lack of honor and obesity run rampant. On the military branch men have traded in their swords and shields for guns and warmachines while most of the population remains naive and selfish.

- Elves:
Reached an utopia like society still in balance with nature, duh. What did you expect? To humans, they became "hippies" Flowerpower dude.

- Wizards:
Became the leading scientists of the world in their persuit for knowledge. Construction and animation of golums, gargoyles, and titan was halted in favour of mass producing cyborgs and various articial-intelligence run warmachines. They also hold the monopoly in exploring space, obviously, dominating skylines at various places with their motherships.

- Warlocks:
Like wizards, they ventured into the field of science to further satiate their desire for power (most research most likely stolen from wizards though), although they ventured a different branch. Instead of cyborgs and self-preserving machines, they sought their merit in biowarfare, the results of their experiments being various, hideous, abominal mutants and chaotic half-monster-half-machines.

- Orcs:
The savage barbarians, although grown a bit more intelligent, still survive in the harsh wastelands which they protect with as much ferocity as before. Their technology comprises mostly of what they can salvage in the harsh wastelands - including from wastedumps - which they try to repair and use for themselves, primairily guns. Cruising the dunes and wastelands in their armored desert cars, living in a society where you are either usefull or a burden and disposed of. Unlike the new humans, they DO know honor.

- Dwarves:
Went to live with humans in the society we roughly see today, now accepted as simply "short humans".

- Fairies:
Most went extinct due to overdose in the various plumes of smoke produced by the elves experimenting with mirihuana. Those that survive live with the elves, desperately trying to avoid the smoke. Most are unhappy and suicidal, and cut themselves on thornbushes.

- Unicorns:
Held as livestock

- Demons:
No idea... Went extinct?

- Undead:
No idea... Most likely not extinct, but hiding, and unable to play a big role anymore.

- Reptiles:
Although they managed to keep their swamps safe, they don't have much, living generally in poverty in their tropical marshlands, maintaining their primite ways of life, with a complete lack of knowledge and technology. Superstition and voodoo rituals still play large roles in their lives.

- Dragons:
Extinct due to fanatic dragonslayers in later ages. Warlocks most likely still try to clone them and use their genes in their biomachinery.

Discuss!

This is impossible.

I try to relate HoMM V world with science, though i hate this, you forgot something, the hatchling of primordial dragons already caused  very insane supernova. Their power is more than that.

Elemental dragons were created as one of primordial dragon children.

They should wield some hidden power, like an overdrive power (like FF bahamut which can destroy a planet instantly or something more powerful than that) and they never use it in the game for balance purpose.

To slay the dragons until extinct = to call the wrath of the elemental dragons upon the whole Ashan.

I'm sure about this, if all dragons are extinct, then so does Ashan.

Same reason as above, demons are children of the other primordial dragon.

Please leave the crappy HoMMV lore background out of this, this is just a conceptual way of thinking about a futuristic fantasy world with HoMM as its basis.

This is meant to discuss possible developments of races, not to discuss lore and story development.

About the undead : Play Warhammer 40,000 : Dawn of War : The Dark Crusade and play with necrons = future undead. Kinda mecha-undead, can rebuild themselves to pieces and restore themselves. They are cool. And use chemical and biological weapons.

About wizards, you're right. Golems and gargoyles are replaced by mechs, wizards with armor and much more powerful magic (Cammon knowing how physics work makes it easier to manipulate it). Their heroes can call in orbital laser strikes, where humans rely on primitive things like nukes.

Warlocks IMO stick to good ol' magic, just MUCH more potent. Why do you need guns when you can conjure a spell with impact power of anuclear weapon? Why you need armor when you have layers of arcane armor?

Dwarves would have big badass armors, though quite little guns in comparison. Their defense sistems would be almost unbreachable, and not just because it's underground.

Elves would use stealth and stuff, similar to the Predator. Why a ranger would need a gun if he can shoot an arrow with muuch bigger force and no noise. Plus he's invisble. Plus he can haste/endurance/... himself and slow/confuse/weaken you with his arrows.

Orcs of course use what they can salvage. Using crude weapons, and still affected by blood rage, they overhelm with numbers.

Humans are simple. Long range artilerry, tanks, infantry, bombers (griffins with a bomb dispenser), hackers (priests), some rambo soldier with a BIG gun and LOTS of armor and angels wieldings rocket lauchers.

- Human knights
Became the modern man we know.Their complete rejection of magic made them lose any magical skill they had. They did not believe in griffins either so those once holy birds left the humans. They mass polute the world and use brutal technology without any thought.
- Elves:
Still live in their medieval (HOMM) ways. They are in war with the humans because they pollute and destroy the world.

- Wizards:
They were believed to be "insane" among the other humans.Just as demonstration of their power they fled to space in large habitable cruisers.Golems, Titans, djinns and various other constructs and spirits still serve as their main military.

- Warlocks:

They were almost killed by elves as revenge for the pain and destruction they caused. They no longer live in one city but rather hide among the elves, wizards and humans.

- Orcs:
Hunted down by fanatics, There is no single orc left in this world.Various mutations evolved in the long war with zealots but they were "half-orcs".Any half orcs left are aiding elves/wizards in fighting the humans.

- Unicorns:
They live in what is left of elven forests and citadels. They are still used as war cavalry, the amount of unicorns is low and elves stopped the use of plain unicorns in battle.

- Demons:
Locked to stay forever in earths core. The medieval humans fear of these monsters caused them to hunt them all way to core. There they are doomed to stay untill armageddon.

- Undead:
They hide among humans as living beings, waiting for right moment to strike. They have moved from scythes and maces to more modern weapons, even though their generals still use the what is left of magic skills.

- Dragons:
They hide in their mountain strongholds, with aid of elementals.Humanity has lost faith in dragons and so have dragons in humanity. They are waiting for the other races to extinct so they could recreate the world and repopulate it.

Undeads: Scattered among all the other humanoid factions and has become the greatest scientists and leaders ever known. "Life and Death is just 2 sides of the same ting" -Arantir, in Dark Messiah.

Demons: Hunted down, sealed, killed, silenced.

Humans: USA with a little better tecnology. Polluting like heck.

Elfs: Either extincted or living in complete peace with Nature using magic instead of polluting powerplants, in war with humans over the planets survival.

Warlocks: Litteraly the same as their bretheren, however they are mostly in a constante war with all other races.

Wizards: Accepting the undeads they does have reached a new peak of tecnology, robots and other advanced stuff. Constante war with the warlocks and argueing with the elfes and humans.

Sandro: Still seeking world domination.

Orcs: Seeking new solutions and is in alliance with the elfes, simply because both of them praise mother nature and father sky.

Dwarfes: Is earing alot of selling minerals and is creating new materials, but not the worlds best tecnology.

And at some point the elfes, dwarfes or the wizards reaches the space age. The humans will maybe be extincted, but the undead will live on.

1500-2000 years into the future, Moonlith's proposal is accepted by Nival and the main gameplay and concepts are incorporated into heroes of might and magic 53. What little interest still existed all but evaporated within a few days and its creator never managed to witness the destruction he wreaked upon this once glorious franchise...

Actually I think Warlocks would be interested in Demons to use as a basis for their bio-warfare experiments Both as test subjects and to geneticly alter, as well they machinify.

The demons could improve the teleporting abilities and maybe get a stargate But I think it stands to reason getting cyborg parts for melee fighting, perhaps exoskeletons or retractable claws.

Have you ever considered that the Heroes world would be different and a 1 to 1 analogy to the real world is not a good way to predict things?

Maybe they used magic (maybe it's in our world too, but we don't know it), or maybe the laws of physics are a bit different. Or maybe they are influenced by the different races.

Does that matter? I mean, the only thing that matters is that it's certainly not like the real world. Even a small change can cause a chain reaction in the future (i.e  a different future).

You seriously think that Nival went through all that before making the lineups? First you create, then see how you bring the lore to your measures unless you have a couple specific ideas in mind.
