Hmm I tried to play with Stronghold today, never cared much for that castle, and.. well it's a cool town, but the centaurs are such a glass cannon, and trappers fail too often.. I mean, they are pretty good against weaker foes, but when I tried to creep a couple of deathknights in early week two, they failed two times and of course the deathknights scored deadly strike against them lol

As for Kragh, I'm not sure. Should I rush to excruciating strike with him? Because I don't find him _that_ powerful in early creeping as you guys here describe. Doing 40% damage more doesn't seem to help much when you have to face horde of tier 2-4 creatures. And it absolutely sucks againsst shooters, they always kill loads of my centaurs when I try, unless I'm lucky. ~~

I like stunning blow, though. With powerful blow at the centaurs, the hero scores a lot of damage, and often moves back units that are about to move behind the centaurs, that score another shot (that triggers another melee strike, lol). But it's often not enough. Perhaps I should use Haggash instead? Faster centaurs = more powerful blows. Aww, idk.

Or perhaps it's best to go with good old Telsek and tent+ flaming ballista, ignoring the rest But I'm guessing that Kragh would be better when creeping level 6-7 creatures.

So.. would do you guys recommend, Kragh, Haggash or Telsek?

How to develop those heroes, what are each one's priorities?

What's the best build order? Just don't say "depends" please

How fast should I get warcries?

Should I ignore the Wyverns?

Should I buy resource silo when the Alchemist lab is guarded by lots of arcane archers? >_>

I've taken down pack of death knights with either Haggash or Kragh day 7, map dragon hill. And centaurs are awesome as long as you have tent and ballista Not much you can do against other shooters than hope to shoot first or use a warcry.

Kragh is insane, can you say 14 archangels week 2? With a week 1 army and no warmachines, just powerful blow and excruciating strike. Nuff said. Of course if you know that you will face hordes of tier 7 then you are better off pursuing triple ballista and tent. Cyclopes with some goblins to eat can be pretty reliable.
I feel Haggash is not only more reliable but kinda broken Not only she boosts one of the best tier 2 units(initiative too...) and starts with a great creeping army but she's also got easy access to flaming arrows. And starts with memory? She simply has no weaknesses.

Telsek can be even more reliable when it comes to creeping. Yes warrior creeping is not as easy as centaurs creeping but he WILL get tent and ballista asap that Haggash may not. Also he can get logs right after and speed up his creeping immensely.

Of the three heroes I feel that Haggash has the best potential - if you have seen what her centaurs can do lategame with some help from chieftains you'll know - but Telsek is the 'safer' earlygame choice. His warmongers are hard as rocks too, they can keep hitting them but they feel nothing I feel that Kragh is more of a week 3-4 main to take down the enemy's tier 6-7 asap. He can also clear high lvl units in the first 2 weeks pretty easily but will have trouble vs ranged unless you get warmachines. The one advantage he has over others is that he can creep without a ballista(albeit with a few losses) so he can pick a better lategame skill, however his special is not that suited to lategame.

Warcries I tend to get pretty late, about week 3 when I return to town. I generally don't need them in creeping. Wyverns are also a sucky option for early, yes regeneration rocks against neutrals but the resources and insane gold requirements make them redundant until week 3-4. Suppose you build them, then you have no gold to recruit others.. I feel it's better to upgrade than go for wyverns if you are to have a week 4 fight. If it will be later you might as well hoard some - paokai are pretty fun

that's pretty much the meat of it; with kragh i usually manage to push archers to act after my centaurs so losses are usually very low, but of course needs stunning blow and memory of our blood/pile of skulls also help a ton. I usually use just use centaurs/trappers/warmongers for creeping; i've learned to respect warmongers, they are incredibly sturdy as they easily get lvl1 rage before seeing action;goblins like to be split because they eat retaliations and also gives a 30 rage bonus to the rest of your troops when they kick the bucket; also, goblins will likely be the main damage dealers early on against walkers, they do a TON of damage just make sure you eat the retaliation with 1gobo stacks or with the warmongers

the snares are also quite good, just don't push your luck with them, you won't snare units using 1 goblin stacks but when i've played against my friend who used necro i managed to snare his wraith's almost always in the final battle.

with kragh its either retribution or empathy the rest are not as important. Powerful blow/attack/stunning blow are my ideal first 3 levels with him. I'm not a big fan of warmachines so i don't consider them a priority and so i'm glad they nerfed flaming arrows Defense is also good, especially against low damage factions. I usually find myself taking a ton of primary skills with the barbarians(excruciating strike/empathy/logistics/defense(shatter dark)/luck)

with kragh warcries aren't as important because you usually just pound them into the ground with the normal attack, which is good because i tend to be very unlucky with warcries(keep getting word of the chief instead of fear my roar and battlecry instead of horde's anger)

I tend to get machines/attack first, logistics later. If I get shout, enlightenment or an important shatter I may change the order.

Kragh - Once you have powerful blow + stunning blow, aim for empathy/battle elation.  Enlightenment is not a bad idea with him, can skip warmachines entirely to be honest.  Luck is a good idea.

Really unless you go for like 3 shatters (bad idea) there IS no wrong path once you have Exr. Strike + Stunning Blow + Powerful blow.  Empathy really DOES help though.  Don't bother with Shout you won't be using them for the most part (though sometimes a fear my roar might be more useful).

Haggash - Triple Flaming + Enlightenment + Shout = can be downright scary.  Luck (of course) also.  Defense is something to consider, especially Evasion and Vitality.

Telsek - Retribution, retribution, retribution.  Did I forget to mention Retribution?  Defense IS also a GREAT skill for him.  Enlightenment if you can get it.  Luck (come on..what town/hero doesn't benifit from this?).

Goblin Guy (sorry forget name) - Simple, aim for Ultimate Rage.
He is the one guy that getting Goblin Support for is not painful.  7 more goblins a week really isn't that great, but with his special by week 2 (maybe 3) you can be getting 20 + 7 (27) a week extra.  Huge Horde's Anger abuse possibility there.  Getting them to start with 500 (or 750 if you can sneak in an enlightenment and bloodfire) means that a level 1 creature is actually something to FEAR.  If possible throw in Expert Defense, Evasion, and Vitality (forget path to ultimate rage, this may not be possible) and they can take on some level 5 or 6 creatures.

Kragh is best for me, he's a boxer too like a certain somebody lol. and his special in second weak owns, i go for fast excruciating and use trappers and centaurs with powerful blow, enemies are stunned by his fists, then by traps, then by the blow! and if he gets excruciating with powerful blow together it is 4x damage, with his special it can be even 8x.

Nice idea.

Telsek is fun too, but he misses that extra "something" Kragh has around 2nd-4th week. He's better if "lots of sprites" happen to be guarding your sawmill tho >_>

And as for Haggash.. well idk honestly. Centaurs are glass cannon.

Not sure about after the nerf, but yeah Haggash was the strongest for Stronghold.  Her Triple flaming balista and uber Centaurs were very strong.

I can confirm that. I once was able to tackle a Horde of Vindicators on day five with Haggash, the Powerfull Blow + Centaurs combo and the Triple Flaming Imballista. It even got better, I got Enlightement offered to me after that battle

No she's simply a lot better unless in the case of pack tier 7 week 2 if she is not offered warmachines. Both in early and lategame, Kragh may get a free blow early but her centaurs act first which is decisive against factions like sylvan. Kill arcanes, ballista shoots druids and then he's crippled.

I have noticed that Academy can beat Stronghold Rather easily, mainl because Academy can take ANY magic skill. I've got two replays were Kargh got Massacred by Narxces, maily beacuse of the fact Kargh had Shatter Destruction and Shatter Light, while Narxces had Dark and Summoning... bad luck <*shrugs*>

LMAO, noob Kragh should know better than that I think it's a matter of timing and spells but as usual in a week 4 game anything can happen.
