Well, I voted yes, but it's more like a maybe. Here's goes:

As you may or may not know, at the beginning of Heroes 4, Gelu and Kilgor clash in one final battle. Gelu has Armageddon's Blade and Kilgor has the Sword of Frost.

Now, in my opinion, it'd make more sense if the two swords fused together after that event. Their fusion could've been powered by the destruction caused by them. I'd call that fused sword the Sword of Annihilation. In my mind, this is how it'd look (stats):

Sword of Annihilation

- Equipped on the Weapon Slot (obviously )

Effects:

- Grants +2 to all Hero's Stats
- Grants an additional +2 to Hero Knowledge and Spellpower
- Grants Expert Armageddon and immunity from that spell to all of your units.
- Grants 50% fire and cold resistance to all of your units.
- Grants an additional 7% fire and 7% ice damage to all of your units' attacks.

In other words, the ultimate weapon. For balance reasons, it should be campaign-only (or perhaps allowable in multiplayer games played only for fun; definitely banned from Tournament of Honor games).

Now, we could also say that the twin swords disintegrated after the Reckoning. However their sheer, raw, magical power prevented them from being erased from existence, so they slowly reformed. How they arrived at Ashan is a mystery, but now the Demon Sovereign wants them both, because he can sense the pure energy emanating from them.
Zehir (of the Wizards) would probably sense that as well, along with some of the more proficient spellcasters from the campaign. And, that would give Nival an easy campaign plot right there. Classic good vs evil clash for the ultimate weapons (happened in H3, but it's a tried and true formula. ).

Now, to stats (again):

Armageddon's Blade:

- Grants +2 to all Hero's stats
- Grants Expert Armageddon and immunity from that spell to all of your units.
- Grants Fire Immunity to all units in your army. If any units in your army already possess this ability naturally, they gain 25% Fire Absorb (they heal 25% of the damage they would have taken from Fire Attacks)
- Grants an additional 7% fire damage to all of your units' attacks.

Sword of Frost:

- Grants +2 to all Hero's stats
- Units in your hero's army get Winter Shield (enemy units that attack a unit enchanted with Winter Shield suffer 40% cold damage themselves)
- Grants Cold Immunity to all units in your army. If any units in your army already possess this ability naturally, they gain 25% Cold Absorb
- Grants an additional 7% ice damage to all of your units' attacks.

Whew! What a post!
That's how I'd add Armageddon's Blade to the Ashan setting present currently.

No, not in its old shape, it was the most broken item ever.

It could have been a combination artifact though. Had they made it a combination from Sword Of Hellfire, Burning Shield, Brimstone Armor and Hellstorm Helmet, it would have made more sense. In a similar light, we could use more combination artifacts in Heroes 5.

No I don't think that Armageddons blade should come back. but I think that the demon sovereign was one of the demons in H3 and then he fled thrue one of the portals leading to Ashan and there he tried to recreate it's power.

Actually this is less of a poll than a fact.  Armageddon's Blade does technically return in Heroes V... in Legends of the Ancients.  I'd share the full story but I'm not sure anyone cares

you know. in the intro to HoMM IV there where portals from the old world (the one you play in HoMM III somehow I can't seem to remmember the name) and maybe the demon sovereign found one leading to Ashan. cause actually if you watch the intro to HoMM III the woman there riding a griffn claims to be nicolai's mother.

Not possible.

I know.  That's Queen Catherine.  Her son Nicolai had brown hair, not blond.

Dude, you can stop saying that everywhere!  We get the message.  They'd just screw it up anyway, plus "end of story" is quite incorrect since they've approved fan-based campaigns set in Axeoth.

What do you mean with saying that everywhere?
I said it in this thread.

And the Axeoth thing is a mod, not something of the orginial game. Thats like saying that Tales of Karador is created by Ubisoft and really happened in the storyline.

May i remind you that H5 was orginally planned to be set in Axeoth but Nival felt that they wanted to create their own world without ANY connection to the old worlds ( and yes, they have explained why Isabel says Crag Hack and Necropolis heroes mention Sandro ) .

Sorry, I meant no offence, it's just that every second post it's like "There is no chance for the old story to return, the old story is dead, Ubisoft said the old story is dead, Ashan is better, I will kill myself if Heroes VI is not in Ashan" etc, etc...

Don't know about you but I'm pretty sure we've had this little argument more than once, and every time someone says "Ashan is greater than..." I will be around to prove them wrong

Ubisoft have given LotA their seal of approval, as have many Might and Magic lore fanatics.  Tales of Karador hasn't received this.  Plus LotA is not a mod

*lol* wrong, Ubisoft felt this.  Nival themselves were the ones who wanted Axeoth back.

Hey didn't I tell you this in the first place?  Using my own argument against me

Well, about Ashan and old world is completly based around peoples opinions you cant prove them wrong.
I agree myself that H5 storyline sucks pre-ToTE.

What is it if it isnt a mod ? (lol that sounded strange ;P )

I always mix up Ubisoft and Nival so sorry, my bad

Yes and then its mod, a mod with a campaign in it.
Its not a part of the orginal game and you download it = mod.

edit 1 : Well, patches are from Ubisoft/Nival/??? so they are not counted as mods. It changes the game to add a campaign.

*lol* nope, mod stands for modification, i.e. modifies the game.  LotA modifies nothing, just adds.  This is like claiming that every patch for every game ever invented is a mod, since they aren't part of the original game.  Anyway this is totally offtopic again, let's just agree to disagree for once

My take on the two Blades

Armageddon's Blade (Right Hand):

- +6 Attack, +3 Defense, +3 Power
- Grants Fire Immunity to all units.
- Places Expert Armageddon in your spellbook.
- All Demonic units gain +25% HP boost.
- Gives your hero Basic Hellfire, even if his skill slots are full (or improves exisiting Hellfire skilll, up to Ultimate rank).

Sword of Frost (Left Hand):

- +5 Attack, +5 Defense, +5 Knowledge
- Grants 33% Magic Resistance to all units.
- Grants Cold Immunity to all units.
- All Undead units gain +20% Initiative and +1 Speed.
- Places Expert Ice Ray and Expert Wall of Frost in your spellbook.

When Used Together:

- +3 to all Primary Stats
- Completely eliminates Fire and Cold immunities of enemy units.
- +33% effectiveness to all Fire and Cold spells. +50% damage to Fiery Chaos spells.
- Granted Magic Resistance is improved to 50%.
