The girl that had rushed to Hulds aid had short red curls and  freckles on her face. The boy that had hit Huld in the face was much different. He had hair a bit on the long side and was the color of dark wood. They were both skinny and a bit hunched but in rest they seemed unharmed.

The girl gasped and knelled down to help Huld get up. They were both taller that Huld by at least a head.

The boy meanwhile stepped back in shock as he saw the person he had thought he had knocked him out got up as though nothing more than a hard wind had hit him.

"I'm so sorry Ely doesn't know what he is doing half the time Mister..." said the girl very jumpy.
"Huld" said Huld who was taking note of what weird prefixes these manlings used.

"Mister Huld. Im Alexa." said the girl who sighed a breathe of relief as though excepting Huld to have lashed out. "This here is Ely and his dumber than a pig!" She said in a whisper to Huld.

"Are you here by yourself?" asked Huld
"We werent until a couple of minutes ago" said Ely who started to droop out of his shock "Shes over here".

The three went inside the inn. Beer and blood had mixed to make a brown liquid that was spread onto the floor.

The door that lead behind the inn to the sleeping quarters had seemingly collapsed.

A faint groan was heard from behind the wreckage.

"Livia we brought help!" said the girl shouting through the blockade.
"Good girl" said a faint voice that held some sort of wild energy even if it sounded exhausted at the moment.

Damn there is no way to do this without use of magic well here goes

"Get back ive burned many things that were in my way i dont want to do the same with you." said Huld as he was preparing to remove the debris.

The thread... I see it... a wave of heat... feel it... let it move your fingers for you... the ebb of heat twisting your fingers... twist... turn... now bend it... Twirl your fist... pull it away from the source.

Steadily the red flame in Hulds fist became brighter. When it almost engulfed the whole of Hulds arm The fist oppened and the colapsed door was engulfed in flame.

Concentrate... force it deeper... feel it dance, orchestrate its music... left,right,left,right... Return the flame

The flame had done its job. Instead of blasting it into oblivion as any fool wizard would have done, The flame had penetrated the inside of the wreck and ground away the iniside. Finally there was a smoldered hole.

Livia was a young maiden with long smooth hair. She had a long green robe and a olive branch with leaves on her hair.

"Help me here shes not light!" Huld grumbled at the children who imdeatly grabbed the arms and pulled her upright and Huld lead them out as he was not tall enough to help.

Shalan had been shocked by the number of dead people. It seemed that this "great" adventure was getting more and more violent. He had followed the group just looking around, not so interested were they was going. However, after a while he heard Ethan talk for himself:
"Oh. Huld, right? Well, you all can go look for him".
It took a while for Shalan to remember that Huld was the small halfling-thing. Shalan dadn't really care that much for the new guy, having had so short time spent with him (Not that Shalan craved any more...) but it was atleast something to focus your mind on instead of all the dead.

After a little stroll not doing anything important he decided that he maybe should made a (half-hearted) try to find their newest "friend".

Ofcourse Shalan's luck had him walk around a corner in the same moment as the halfling came infront of a pair of youngsters half-dragging-half-supporting a young woman.

"Oi Huld, what are you doing."
Shalan's sudden yell caused the youngsters to startle and visually pale. Shalan tried to ignore them, wanting to hear the short-thing's answer.

(ooc- red is for Alexas thoughts)

Huld started. Shalan's yell nearly caused Huld to trow a fireball at him. He sighed relaxing a bit and told the others not to worry.
"I told you I was going to look for survivors!"

Then Alexa entered in the discussion "Please help us! Livia is hurt!"
Ugh,that thing is so UGLY!!! Although his fur pelt is pretty neat!

"Could you please get over here, im to short to carry her and these manlings need some help." said Huld to Shalan.

The rest of the journey with the younglings and Shalan passed relatively fast as the arguing of the children kept them entertained.

"You CAN'T be meaning this!" Karla exclaimed

"I can't do what?" I grunted
"You can't be serious about considering to adventure with this band of... morons!" Karla spat "It's below my standard!"
"What else can we do? We don't have the scroll no chance of finding the Arnaments or my lost Father, the best we can do is move more inward and find Al'Quil's mates before the Big Tsuami washes us all away!"
"Bah! I refuse to travel with the imbeciles!" Karla snapped
"Fair enough. Bye Karla, It's was not nice to meet you. Let's go"

I and my band passed past Karla, who scowled at us... However, Karla suddenly faced the forsite of what might happen to her if she was alone. A sole Woman, alone in a Forest clearing teetering with Bandits, Rogues and Rascalls. No, that was not wise indeed...

"WAIT" She cried, when the Party was almost out of sight "I'm coming with you!!"

We marched for a full day, and stranded about 5 miles from Athkoln at Sunset. We we're about to set up camp when Suddenly...

"GET 'EM!! CATCH THEM ALIVE!"

Highwaymen. Bandits. Rogues. Curse them all.

I immedeately Understood we we're under attack and turned around to see a band of 30 Hooded and Armed men charging at us.

"VADE RETRO!" I cried, and a Shockwave immedeately threw my two first attackers back wards. Karla too saw the danger and Emitted her typical battlecry "You are looking at me! DIE, PERVERTED SWINES, DIE!! - MORTIS INCANTATEM!" She pointed her crooked finger at one of the attackers, who tumbled backwards, dead.

Al'Quil, Grim and Golaw charged the enemy with their Deadly axes and sword, with Hans and Elise's crossbow fire covering them. Shandina hurled red colored grenades at her opponents.

"Take Out their Mages first!" Shouted their leader. Some of the Hooded enemies pulled out Ivory wands. "SOMNIS ARCANA!"

Azure nets of energy flung out of the tips of their wands ensnaring me and Karla. "Warding Nets!" Karla cried. "Imbeciles! How am I supposed to defend myself when-"

Suddenly ome of the Mages hit her spell, and Karla tumbled motionless to the ground...

"KARL'!" I shouted, but my Magical power had been tapped as well. "Blased Warding Nets, dammit! Now I have to do it the hard way" I pulled out my Macestaff and charged the enemy.

We were losing the battle. Golaw had been disarmed and was driven in a corner, and shortly afterwards, Grim had been knocked out by one of the Mage's summoning Charm.

"This is Lost, Boris!" Hans shouted, dodging an enemy arrow "We cannot win this"

"Keep fighting, friends, keep fighting!" I shouted, knocking out an enemy with my staff. At the same time Elise was overpowered. Hans quickly reacted; he still had his Magical Energy, as the bandits had failed to identify him earlier as a spellcaster.

"Shandina, now!" he cried at the Alchemist, who quickly took out a strange Purple potion from her belt and drank it... the next moment, she had vanished.

"VERITAS CREDO OCULOS" Hans chanted, and he too vanished. Only Al'Quil and I were fighting the enemy. Then Suddenly, I felt a hard blow to my temple, and my mind went completely black from that point on...

Guess Who is Back?

As the half-elf and magician fell to the ground, hit in thier head by the bandits. Al'Quil turned to look at the cornered Golaw, who slowely sat down on his knees and "surendered". Al'Quil knew this had to be an act, seing as Golaw is deadliest when he fights with his hands and not with weapons, but Al'Quil quietly agreed with surendering being the best course of action.
Al'Quil threw his axe away "I surender" he said and sat down on his knees.
He and Golaw was soon bound up, and then the bandits started to search them and the party for any valuables.
"Was there not two more of them?" One of the bandits said
"Yes there was, one gnome and a elven child" Another one replied
"Then were are they?!" The first one asked
"They must have been able to escape in the chaos of the battle."
"Then find them! More prisoners means more slaves! So find them!"
"I'll get right to it!"
The man turned to the others, Al'Quil had used his time to look around and count the enemies, they were 34 in all.
"Dralaf! Take your men and search the area around here, find the gnome and the elven child!" He shouted
The man called Dralaf turned to the one who had shouted and nodded. He then made hand signs for the others to follow him and then he and 10 others were gone.
Then the shouting man turned to the one who seemed to be their leader "What now?"
"Lets get back to camp, we've had quite the catch today, first one half-elf and an old man, and now...lets see..." The man said and turned to the group of prisoners they had, were only Al'Quil and Golaw was concious at the movement.
"Half-elf and old man?" Al'Quil thought "Aldrianda and Richard!"
"Another half-elf, a dwarf, two womens, and two human men." The leader said "Quite the catch for one day, don't you think so to Galmar?"
"Yes, quite the good catch indeed." The man called Galmar said, he was apperantly second in command.
"Well, as I said, lets prepare to get back."
"Right" Galmar said "Pack up folks! We're going back to the camp!"
The bandits took their equipment and started moving out. Some of them came over to Al'Quil and the group, they picked up the others and ordered Al'Quil and Golaw to stand up and walk.
"I am glad the huge one is still awake, it would be hard to carry him!" One of the bandits said.
"Haha! Yeah, from the looks of it, we would have needed four or five men on the least!" another one replied.
"...Well, ain't this an interesting twist to our adventure?" Golaw whispered to Al'Quil "Now we just need them to show us their camp and we can break out!"
"No" Al'Quil whispered back "Their to many, we will need more than just the movement of surprise to win that battle. An sneaking out of camp is not an option, seing as some of us would not be able to sneak around."
"hmhm.." Golaw seemed to hold back a smile "Not my fault your so big" he didn't manage to hold it back and smiled and somewhat laughed.
"Hey! What are you two talking about?! Get that smirk of your face!" one of the bandits knocked Golaw in the back with a club and his smile went off right away.
"Shandina...I hope you have a miracle potion of some sort, cause we need something close to a miracle to win this fight right away" Al'Quil thought.

The Grim Caravan departed

Hans quickly reverted his invisibility spell. He knew that overusing Invisibilty might turn him into a shade.

"Shandina? You there?"

No answering. Hans tried again

"Shandi-"
Suddenly someone jumped onto his neck "Here I am, Gnome." Invisi-Shandina said, but her words were overbared by Hans's scream of terror - he hadn't expect anything small and invisible to jump on him at all!

"Girl, you gave me quite a scare. It's has been at least twenty years ago when Uncle Jarvis -he breads Scorpicores, you know- had-!"

"Shht, Someone's coming!"

Indeed, one of the Bandits had heard Hans's cry and returned to the battle grounds.

"Quickly, quaff this, Gnome!" Shandina hissed, as a Purple potion flew his way in mid-air. Hans quickly took it, and no moment too soon, as the bandit soon arrived. A few seconds later, and he would have seen Hans.

After giving the Site a quick scan, he returned to his comrades.

"Thanks, Shandi. And now?" Hans whispered
"We follow" Shandina said softly.

Soon enough after Shalan had gone looking for Huld, they were already coming back with two children and a lady who seemingly was injured. Jeremy started walking their way to help them and said: "You're back! How bad is this lady injured?" Jeremy couldn't help but to feel relieved that they could leave this place soon without having to rifle trhough the ruins for people who are not quite so dead. Even though he did have the feeling that he was feeling relieved for the wrong reason.

Chapter 2
     Questions, Plans, and Beer

Jeremy seemed very relieved at their return. Shalan did not answer Jeremy so Huld flexed Livias leg. No response. He checked the anckle and moved it. No response. Huld pressed lightly on the lower part of the foot. She groaned and flinched almost releasing her from the younglings grip.

Ely and Alexa lowered her down and propped her on a rock.

"Is that answer enough? She is not fit for travel for some time  but this place is so bloody that i couldn't sleep here even if i was unconscious. Lets go a short distance away from here. I think i saw a valley a few miles away. We could camp there." Huld told Jeremy as he sat down by a tree and pulled out a small barrel of beer from his personal backpack and took out a mug.

Jerremy raised an eyebrow inquiringly.

"You never let good beer spoil." Huld said pouring himself a pint.

He sounded so dwarfish at that moment everyone was left with a sheepish expression on their face.

(ooc: Just found some time to write here. I stil expect you to use Shariya so no forgettin of me here.
As before italics presents unvoluntary behavior.
Sorry Dagoth.)

Mutilated bodies of humans and orcs lying everywhere around in the now smoldering ruins of the small village. Barbaric! So much wasted! One could have gotten so much more from this village. Typical lower race behavior. Filthy orcs!
But they did manage to create a lovely massacre though... My eyes flash briefly from bloodlust. Ugh. So much blood. This might not end good if we stay here for much longer.

"AGH!", a groan brings of back to earth from my thoughts.

And the opportunity presents itself just when I need it. Perfect!

"You're right. We should indeed move her out of here. But not before I see to her foot.", I take a half burned plank and look Robert deep into his eyes.
"Would you mind breaking this into three pieces from here and here?", I smile at him.
"For you, anything.", he flashes a brass smile back at me, takes the plank and breaks it like I asked.
"Thank you. I knew I could count on you.", I kiss him on the cheek as I take pieces. I notice his face turning red before I turn to the red haired girl.
"I'd need to rip a few pieces from your dress dear. May I?", she nods. I lay the plank pieces down and kneel to rip a few shreds from the bottom of her plain dress. As I reach behind her while ripping her dress I hear the blood flow in her veins. I lick my lips and smell her sweet cent.

Ooh-oh, this one smells so pure and delicious. I wonder if I get a good chance to taste her sweet innocence.
Get a grip! Control yourself! But she does look tasty...

I set the wood so it supports Livia's foot and tie it with the rags.
"There. Now it will be alright till we find that damned druid or I have time to treat it thoroughly in a safer place...
...and somewhere with less bloodbath."

Livia heard the word "druid" and immediately thought that more of the Jade Order must have made their base here than she expected. Many people mistake druid and a member of the Jade Order as being the same. They could not be more wrong.

Druids (or most of them) lack some sanity as animals and Humanoids are so closely related. Druids lose the thought of them behaving differently than animals.

A member of the Jade Order is one that is more in touch with plant life and is usually stimulated by the presence of one of its members.

Farmers have a special place in their home and heart for Jade Wizards that visit the town. This is usually a place that is close to their garden so that the years harvest is as best as it could be.

The Jade Order is not just limited to plants but they are just more adept in communing with them than animals.

Before long, Ethan neared the group once more, though barely in view. He noticed a few new people were in their company. He hadn't been away for too long, so he could only imagine they were from this town they were in. Suddenly, an idea came to mind.

Taking the spear he obtained earlier in hand, he hurled it towards the group; though he was far too far away to even accidentally hit them. As quickly as he could, he went running towards them all, screaming, "Orcs! They have returned!"

Going only a few meters past them, he stopped and turned around. He was fairly certain he couldn't fool the group he had been traveling with, with them knowing of his newly obtained weapon. The purpose was to mess with the towns folks' minds. Whether or not they were fooled, he had a grin on his face, chuckling a little.

"Well, what do we have here? The little people are multiplying and then there is..." Ethan looks at Livia from head to foot. "Ah, yes. The wounded. Well, how about I take a closer look at that, then?"

Without waiting for an answer, or any other comment for that matter, Ethan forcefully lays her on the ground, and removes the bandages from the foot. Not being the least bit careful, he lift the foot from the ground and, indeed, takes a close look at the foot. As he does this, he casts a spell. For those with the knowledge of such cases, it sounds like one a clergyman would cast, rather than one of a druid. Upon completion of the spell, he takes the foot in his free hand. The woman lets out a scream that would put his earlier one to shame, then she comes at ease. The magic glows a bit, and foot is healed.

Ethan releases the woman, then steps away. He offers no assistance in helping her up, be just looks at her with his usual grin. Though, that only lasts a couple seconds, until he turns to the others.

"I do suppose she wanted to be healed, right? Sure, it was more complex than it should have been, but I said I would take a closer look at the foot." He takes a quick glance at the foot again. "It looks better than it did before, I suppose."

"What the?!" exclaimed Huld as the spear nearly missed him and hit Hulds mug.

"That cost 5 silver coins...!!!" a word came after that would have made any mother slap whoever said it.

Ethan resolutely ignored him and recklessly took a look at the leg and gave it what would have been considered a healing spell.

The younglings had simply flinched at the spear but had felt genuine panic at the mans cry.

Livia was panting hard and started to calm down after the spell had been cast.

Livia got up and thanked Ethan.

"It feels allot better now thank you" she spread her arms and gave Ethan a hug.

Huld sighed and packed up his beer barrel
I will never understand why these manlings are always so sentimental especially women.

With a huge yawn Huld told Jeremy.
"The fire and food will be ready in a few hours *yawn* Shalan please rip a few branches so that our *yawn* guests here so they wont freeze i only brought a tent for myself. Ethan you can have some of my beer if you find any scavengers in the town we can have some buzzard beak stew."

Jeremy was about to say something to Livia but Huld interrupted.
"We can twist our tongues over who we are and why were here over the fire."

Quite frankly Huld was tired and could spare no more thoughts to whether or not he was good friends or was looked down on by his fellows.

After having been interrupted by Huld, Jeremy decided that it wouldn't really matter at all if he asked the previously injured lady if she knew what had happened to the village. Things had started to become quite chaotic with hurricanes appearing out of nowhere, villages getting burned and Jeremy himself being continuosly in contact with a necromancer lord. All of this had started happening as it was announced in a prophecy that this would be the age when Barry, The Combat Defenders treasures would be found. Then there was that map that Jeremy had gotten from the old beggar in exchange for a bit of bread. All of this had made Jeremy think if something really big was happening according to some giant plan and if they were acting as pawns in all of this or were they acting on their own as the blacksmiths forging their own "destiny".

Jeremy pondered upon this for a bit, then something struck upon his mind and made his eyes widen: The map! The map was in his knapsack and his knapsack was left behind as they escaped the hurricane!

"Damn it! The map! I have lost the map! It was left behind in my knapsack and was then propably caught in the hurricane! What heck are we going to do now?!" Jeremy loudly exclaimed to the group.

Huld heard Jeremy but since he had no real reason for caring he said in the most nonchalant way possible
"We'll just have to make it up as we go along."

While all the grown ups were talking Alexa and Ely were having their own debates.

"Look i know these dont look like the brightest bunch but..." said Alexa

"I dont trust any of them. Especially that one." Said Ely noding in the direction of Robert.

"Why?"said Alexa wide eyed.

"He's in the thieves guild. I've seen him in Agliad."

"How do you know that?" Alexa was starting to suspect it was all a lie.

"Look while you and Livia were there asking around if there is any place where the earth is better to farm than usual i was walking around and guess who i ran into." said Ely his grin growing larger.

"No... not her!" Alexa was growing a bit more red. She had always been protective of her brother and she had reason too be even cautious about Care Care.

"Yep she told me that there was this friend of hers and that he left her behind, and you know as we travel allot i asked her how he looked like. He fits the description perfectly."

"If he is friends with Care Care than why dont you trust him?" she said puzzled.

"You never trust a thief." said Ely and he said no more.

"*sigh* If they can help Livia find the Jade Order we can finally leave this behind us." said Alexa finally.

Livia was very eager to get a chance to ask Ethan if he was part of the Jade Order. Livia wanted above all to go to her birth place.

Robert acted a bit like a small child after Sharya kissed him. He then heard Care being mentioned by the small children, probably unaware of his race. He'd need to get away from the group of the group, if he were to think about the danger of people who knew Care, talking about her in his company, and the people he finds extremely difficult to refuse.

"You lost the map?" Robert repeated then, while trying to divert his attention from the kids. "Let me summarise that for a moment, if I may: we are travelling with three CHILDREN, one of them is injured and you lost the map?" this was an outright disaster. "You can't walk through orc territory with children, you'll die, we'll die!" he quickly said.

A silence was there, since Robert hadn't addressed someone in particular, though he meant to imply it was Jeremy's mistake and Huld's scavenging that caused all this. "Listen, Jeremy, I suggest that I and a tracker, like nature boy over there, go and find that damn map, while you stay here, along with Shalan and the monk." he then said, his brain trying to find a solution to all this. It'd be for the better if he traveled with the most irrational member of the party (though he feared he'd get mauled by a bear along the way)

and the children would have time to recover under the caring hands of a monk of the order of the sun. Shalan would get food and Jeremy would get everything under control from the position that was weakest. If his problems weren't soon to be resolved, he might start considering the opton of running away. Then, he reconsidered Care... Would she be around? If so, then he'd better lose the people who knew her and could tell her about his whereabouts.

This was just crazy. How would they survive all this, Orcs, nature, death and to top it all of, they had no idea whether they'd be able to continue their quest...

It's only a day and a half travelling. They'd even go faster, if Ethan helped and they cut their sleeping time to zero.

"Child?!" burst out Livia.
"Child?! Il show you child!!!"

She was out of control she called upon the forces of nature and roots magically burst out of the ground and entagled Roberts leg. Before he could even attempt escape the roots grew taller and dangled Robert upside down.

"Am i a child now you great pile of bat droppings!" She was angry and furious. She was taller than Robert but because she had been on the ground when he was there he had assumed her a child.

The children sighed. Livia always went like this when her age was taken into question.

Ely knew what to do when this happened. He crept behind Livia and grabbed hold of her arms pulled them behind her back and tripped her.

It was something he learned from Care Care.

The roots were pulled back into the ground and Robert lay face down on the ground.

"Oh dear, not again." Alexa went over to Robert and flipped him over.
She pulled out a few herbs and ground them a bit using her hands.

Then she put the leaf's around Robert's nose and he started wrenching and the leaf's were quickly taken away.

Robert woke from unconsciousness but at the expense of some of his lunch.

"Im sorry sir but i didnt think you would have liked staying unconscious for 2 days." Said Alexa pulling out a knowing grin.

Livia was dizzy and as her vision spun in every direction she thought she saw a dark figure standing in front of her. When her vision cleared she saw it was only Shariya.

Huld was shocked at what had just happened but he then dicided to leave the swearing to the others.

He went and pulled some branches and went down to the valley he had seen earlier.

After that short facade of Robert being sorely humiliated by a most immature young lady, Jeremy stepped forth and pessimistically said to Robert: "If you truly insist on going to look for that map then go right ahead. I'm not stopping you. I'll just let you know that it will be a wild goose chase, there is no telling how far an old piece of paper could have been blown away to."

At the same time Shariya was scaling her options: She could show them the copy of the map that she had taken from the old scholar at the library and risk getting suspicions cast upon her or stay quiet and let them waste their time looking for the map or coming up with other ideas. Neither option was very favourable.

The hug seemed a little odd to Ethan. Mainly, it caught him by surprise. However, it was harmless enough. In response, he gave her a few pats on the back.

The scene with the vines that occurred shortly after, however, was quite displeasing. It wasn't necessarily what was done that was displeasing, but the anger involved in it. Without that, it could have been very amusing.

Later on, as they talked of finding the map, Ethan couldn't help but overhear the desires to go out looking for it. He walked over to them, looking puzzled.

"You want to go looking for a small piece of paper that likely got carried off in that magnificent twirling wind? Imagine how far it could have flown. Also, what is to say that it is even in one piece now? It was likely torn to shreds. Though, if you still would like to go look for it, it sounds like it would be fun!"

When Huld reached the valley that he had seen earlier the others had not followed. If Robert was serious than they would go off on a wild goose chase.

Huld sat on the grass and lay the branches in a heap. He then invoked the wind of fire.

The fire was ready in a few minutes and since no one had come yet he started to set up the tent and get water for the stew.

It was getting darker when finally the others came.

When Huld had left the group he had picked up  were half a mind to go with him but hung around to see if anything else would happen.

"I guess that you and Robert get to keep all the fun for yourselves," Jeremy told Ethan before turning back to Robert and saying: "Since Ethan seems to comply I guess that you could go look for the map. We will wait here for your return. If you don't come back in... Two days, we'll move on without you. How about that?"
