A few moments before Huld spoke up...

Robert threw off his precious, yet disgtusting cloak and pointed with a dagger towards Al'quil. "Bile has definitely gone up, Conan, you either kill it or talk to it!" he shouted and quickly ran from the sight of the orc that neared.

Al'Quil turned to the half-elf "Listen, I told you that my name is NOT Conan, and I am NOT a barbarian!" Al'Quil got the feeling that the half-elf was a little slow in the nut, as he could not get his name right and didn't understand his earlier, calm explaination. "But as you said, we either talk or fight it, but I got a compromise; Knock him down on the ground THEN talk to it!" Al'Quil grinned and turned to the orc "Tell me, how many arms can I chop off without you getting mad?" he said right before starting his sprint towards the orc.

((And here I thought I had explained to Robert that Al'Quil ain't a barbarian in a most unthreatening, friendly and polite manner...))

A clang sounded in the night as metal clashed and began to play a distorted rythm, joined by a choir of roars and battlecries. Jeremy tried to get the drop on the orc, but instead got a boot imprint on his face. An A for effort, but better leave this one to the big boys.

Al'Quil made a leap the last meter, to give his attack extra weight as he swinged his axe down vertically towards the yellow orc's shoulder. The orc however, was quicker than Al'Quil expected and managed to block Al'Quil's attack by putting it's blade in between axe's blade and it's pole((common trick last time I checked. If the pole is made out of steel/iron of course.))
Slightly surprised Al'Quil decides to figure out wether or not orc males have their testicles where the humans have them, so he swiftly step forward and deliver a kne-kick in it's groin when he lands.
On most other creatures, it would have been enough to make them cower in pain, but for an orc in a battle, it was barely enough to make it give a grin((or whatever)) of pain.
"Great..." Al'Quil sighed right before the orc gave him a right hook in the face, making Al'Quil take three steps back, seemingly leaving him open for attack.
The Orc seize the oportunity and plunge forward, making itself ready to attack. Al'Quil spits as both him and the orc swing their weapons in a horisontal slice, the orc aiming for his neck, he himself aiming for the legs.
Four seconds later, the orc was laying on the ground, having lost it's left leg and with a deep cut on it's right, while Al'Quil was standing up from jumping to the side to avoid any damage the falling orc might have done to him.
"So.." Al'Quil looked at the bard "What we do with it?"

Robert took a few steps towards jeremy while Al'quil was trading blows with the orc. He extended his arm towards Jeremy. "I need to borrow this." He said and quickly drew the sturdy sheet of iron that was Jeremy's sword. As Al'quil had sliced through the orc's leg and the orc fell down, Robert took a few nimble steps in his direction.

"So.." Al'Quil had said while he looked at the bard "What we do with it?"

Robert made a twirl with the sword raised in the air that closed the distance between him and the orc. The orc's face was still frozen in shock and about to give a blood-curdling roar as Robert suddenly slammed the sword into the orc's chest, right after Al'quil had uttered his words. Robert looked at the orc, gargling up blood as the monster's heart tried to give a few more ferocious beats. "That's what you do with an orc on the ground." Robert said, after the orc stopped spasming. He pulled out the sword, wiped it clean with a piece of cloth he carried around and handed it back to Jeremy. "I suggest we pass this mountain as quickly as possible. The orc didn't make too much noise, but his brethren will still be looking for him."

"And I ain't eatin' it."

"Well, I prefere to let people who don't really bother me live. Even if they might be handicapped..." Al'Quil shrugged "If not only to give them a chance to live, it also provides the opportunity to interogate them or use them as hostages later on, if necessary."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea you spoke orcish, the roaring and leg-chopping somehow convinced me otherwise. And to handicap an orc is a worse fate than killing one, so I've heard."

Robert was growing more sarcastic

Well, you are correct. I do not speak orcish, but I do know how to make me understood in any language, and about the 'fate worse than death' thing. Would be his problem not mine, I just stand on my prinsiples((Sorry, misspelling))." Al'Quil calmly stated while cleaned his axe before chopping it into the ground again so he could sit on it.

Jeremy felt around his face to get a better idea of the bruise he got. Nothing would seem to be broken, but it's going to leave a mark. Should he be mad at himself for secretly being glad that he didn't have to make the choice on the orc's fate? Jeremy felt like dead weight, he was nigh useless. He can't make choices, he can't fight, cook or even sing a little song. Robert would make a much better leader...

Jeremy gets back up and concurs: "Yes, we need to get moving before even more orcs are after us."

Al'Quil was glad that he had not unpacked much, he ran over to his sleeping spot and packed his bed into his bag and closed it. He stood up and ran over to the dead orc corpse, which he drags over to the nearest tree and half covers it in the bushes and the fallen leafs.
"Ready to move out!" Al'Quil informatively stated.

Later, in the morning...

Bejrthak, the Boastful: "Gwahahaa! Not in ages has there been a hunt as great as this!"

Faejin of Quotfar: "Bounties of the hunt, are bounties of honor."

Bejrthak, the Boastful: "Well spoken! Not the great shaman of old can match your strength in wisdom."

Hrelgar: "Megith, from the back, tells that Jekrall hasn't returned. His brothers wish to break rank and seek what has come of him."

Bejrthak, the Boastful: "He can't be lost. His thick snot leaves an easy trail."

Faejin of Quotfar: "The brothers may see what has come of their kinsman. If Jekrall has deserted us, they are to cut his fingers. If Jekrall is dead, they are to honor him appropriately."

Hrelgar: "Understood."

Meanwhile, elsewhere...

Jeremy and the band of misfits had spent all night on the road after the orc incident. They were tired, but a fear of an entire band of orcs giving chase kept them going. Jeremy looked up ahead and his mood lightened up. They had gotten out of the troll forks and the mountain path was nearing it's end. It would soon be well kept and patrolled roads to Athkathla. "If we keep this up, we'll be in Athkathla at bedtime," Jeremy said tongue-in-cheek to share the cheer.

"I'm not sure whether it's the missed night's sleep or running all night in the freezing cold with a package that's essentially silk and orc-snot, but is anyone else feeling a bit light-headed? Oh, yeah... great news, Jeremy..."

Robert said. He looked like he could nod off to sleep any moment and spoke like a drunk.
