"If we find the map after two days, then we'll expect you to have already run into orc territory." Robert said cynically, ignoring the sarcasm envelopping his suggestion. What else were they to do, then?. "I'll continue the search for the weapons along with Ethan, then." Robert said and he found out that he'd rather take his chances with the orcs. Ethan was irrational and he would only work with him, thanks to his power to wield nture magic and Robert counted that he might know a way to talk with his environent and retrace the map if it twirled away.

"Listen, I'm not a cartographer, nor as famous expert on northern geography, but I looked at a map before and I can guess that there's an orc encampment about fifty miles away, at most. You'll be entering that territory in two days travelling. Maybe three with kids and the need to be on your guard." Robert argued. "We'll catch up with you guys, no worries. now, time's wastin'." Robert said,. He felt the urge to leave, NOW.

He walked in the direction from whence they came. "Ethan, can I trust you to lead me back at the site of the hurricane?" he then asked, trusting ethan already followed him.

Meanwhile still on the hill the children and Livia were discussing their options.

"They think we will slow them down. This is orc territory after all and you didn't exactly make a good impression." Alexa was saying to Livia.

"This isnt my fault you know. After all, im half your being you could at least  try to control me." said Livia now lounging in the gradually setting sun.

"I've tried but unfortunately i have lost contact with my other half since the years you have been roaming around trying to get back to the Jade Order, trying to fix our mistake." said Alexa.

She had been annoyed by the fact that she was only half her person. With all of her powers locked away in a separate body. Livia's body.

"Im telling you... the only thing that gets you two back into one are the Armaments of Gods!" Said Ely who only half believed it.

"Oh... don't get started about that thing again! I know your trying to help best you can little brother but the only real child here is you and frankly the Armaments sounds allot like wishy washy nonsense."
Said Alexa.

"Well at least we can find shelter with these fellows until we get another lead on either the Armaments or the Jade Order."

Ethan easily caught up to Robert, walking to his side. He was a weapon down, but he figured he already had enough fun with the spear, and left it behind. He had no plans on keeping the item for too long anyway.

"Trust me? I am sure you could... Though, I am also sure you could not. That is for you to decide. I will choose a way to go, but I will not expect you to follow. It may be in your best interest to do so. However, again, it might not."

Ethan smiles as he takes the lead, then starts humming to himself.

Huld stirred the flame which grew brighter.

When Jeremy and the others came it was brighter than any fire they had ever seen. But they're eyes soon became adjusted to the light.

"Ive set up your tents, and caught a boar that was ferreting around for some food." Said Huld pointing at the pig that was suspended over the fire.

Huld saw that two of they're number had left.

"Load of armadillo scalp, going miles of land for a piece of paper!" said Huld as he took a swig from his mug.

Jeremy sighed. He seemed the most tired of the group with the children being second.

Only Shaliya seemed to not be in a state of worry. She was staring at the fire sometimes licking her lips.

Though Huld prided himself on his cooking he didnt think of Shaliya as the type to anxiously be awaiting a meal.

As he caught Hulds stare she stoped and looked away.

And so Robert and Ethan went off to look for the missing map. They did not get very far when they started hearing an approaching cacophony of loud voices and heavy footsteps. The two companions quickly hid behind some shruberry and started peeking at the source of the noises. They soon discovered that there was a large group of armed bandits carrying all manners of instruments to restrain and ensnare people; ropes, nets, shackles, cages, you name it. They were no ordinary group of bandits, they were slavers and they were headed straight towards the ruins of Athkoln.

Amongst the noises Robert and Ethan could clearly hear the bandit-slavers talking. "Y'know them orcs rarely leave survivors. I don't think that we'll be findin' any of them meatbags down there in Athkoln," said a voice that sounded like the person was talking through his nose. "Ach! Ye don't have to think you buffoon! All ya have to do is to constrict, confiscate and carry. It can't be that hard to remember!" A commanding and powerful voice answered. This was obviously the leader of this crew. "Well what I was sayin' was that maybe we could have just gone back to the camp along with the small group that went back to deliver that map we found," said the nasal voice again. "Well I don't think that we did! They will be going back to the camp where the map will be further examined and then sent to the clan hall if it's of any interest to the boss. We on the other hand will keep looking for slaves to sell! So shut up already and keep walking!"

The other bandit was quiet. The group passed by the shruberry that Robert and Ethan were hiding behind and none of the bandits noticed a thing.

"Its cooked" Announced and cut some strips for the party and all ate gratefully.

"This is the best thing i ever tasted!" said Alexa eating the rest of her piece.

The others nodded in appreciation.

"Say, Jeremy?" Asked Huld
"Why did you go on the search for this thing? You know the Armament."
Jeremy was frowning and then asked Huld back
"Well why did you?"

Huld paused. He had not expected this.
He sighed.

"My family... were one of the most adventurous and ill respected of half-ling kind. My brothers had been on the most exiting adventures and brought back the largest treasure load ever seen... I wanted to be so much like them! For years i had taken upon quests that often lead to dead ends. When i went to Human lands i heard the most fascinating story! The Armaments of Gods! It would make my brothers look like tadpoles! So here i am." This was half true. His family were adventurous but not treasure hunters. They had done some of the best scouting expeditions into orc territory. Legends had sprung around them that they outmatched the Ragoc knights! Huld was one of they're last descendants.

He now waited for Jeremies story. If he had one...

Too late to show the copy of the map now; Robert and Ethan had already gone off. Shariya was very frustrated. Her indecisiveness had cost her a few days of doing nothing than sitting around and waiting. As Huld and Jeremy were talking about something, Shariya woke up from her frustration as her senses quickly sharpened and she could hear a noisy group of people approaching their location. The noise was coming from too far for any human to hear, but she heard it very clearly with her vampiric senses. Shariya quickly assumed from the noises that it was a large group of bandits. Not fancying the thought of beign subdued by a large group of outlaws or making a big bloody mess, she decided that if there was a good time to ditch these simpletons this would be it.

Jeremy was about to open his mouth to answer to Huld when Shariya said and got everyones attention: "I'll go for a while to freshen up a bit. I'll be back in a moment so don't worry."

That would be the last of Shariya that they would see for quite a while.

Jeremy looked how shariya walked away for a while and then turned back to Huld and tried to quickly think of something to say. "Well I just happened to bump into a map and figured that this quest would be a great source of inspiration for writing lyrics, poems and stories," Jeremy said, knowing pretty well that there was something else that compelled him to take up this quest; he just couldn't put his finger on it. Not that he would have wanted to tell Huld about it anyway.

More discussion was passed around and Livia explained how she was urgently needed to go back to the Jade Order and find the remnants of Fair wood and rid it of one of the necromancer lords.
Huld yawned.

After Shalan had found Huld and the young lady and the two children he had walked around in a sort of haze. He thought it was from lack of sleep, even if the nights had been quiet and dark enough he had spent to much time thinking about his situation(Which was rather unlike him) He wasn't very talkative that day, each and every sound seemed purely unnecessary and all discussions was tiresome. Still he tried to follow the discussion at the camp-site that night. Seemingly the little man (Shalan couldn't force himself to call him "Huld", expect when he talked to him) was from a family of "Adventurers", he was a bit questioning about the truth in that.

Shalan realised at that point how cynical and suspicious he had become after the escape, his trust for the ones in the "Group" had actually been reduced over the course of the travel. He was even unsure himself why that was the case.

After that he heard the lovely story about why Jeremy wanted to find the treasure. To find eternal glory through writing a song of legends or something like that. And finally he heard the young lady explain why it was of utter importance why she had to go home to her order of something, find a wood (how hard can that be?) and kill a necromancer. Now was it only one question.... He started be only talking in the air

"So let's put this here straight, we are on our way to a place, we have lost our only map and those in our group that are the best fighters are back-tracking to find it? Also you."

Now Shalan turned to Livia.

"Are you telling that fair tale just to entertain us or do you want help?"
Maybe Shalan was a little rough on the delivery and he (nearly) regretted saying that, also he hoped that the girl could recognise the think cover of sarcasm over his warods about help.

"Well.." whispered Livia "Yes, we would like your help very much..." she looked at Alexa silently asking for help.

"It might sound hard to believe but The Order has gone underground, hunting down the necromancers one by one" said Alexa fully aware that they saw a child explaining a war that has been hidden for centuries.

"They sent a messenger to us asking for help but he had been arrested before he could give us the map. He was burned to the stake for no good reason at all! We had been following clues all the way into the north when the orcs attacked." Alexa sighed "We lost the trail,if we could stick with you we might find the Order."

Huld coughed. " I havent been here long enough to tell, but you are allot smarter than the usual child. What happened to you?" said Huld lighting his pipe and blowing a couple of smoke rings into the air.

Alexa looked unconformable she was cornered into coughing out the truth by something half her size. She said everything it might even help.

"Me an Livia used to be... one person but when the last battle againts the necromancers split mount Krag-Hkald and the Dragon graveyard there released so much power it split both armies like us. And they all wandered off not remembering who they were or what they were doing. Over the years it wore off and i could feel that i was still out there. My brother" Alexa said waving vaguely at Ely "had been adopted and his parents told me that when her sister would come they were to give him over. By then i had found Livia and she convinced them she was his sister. And we went for miles on end going ever northward and here we are."

"So let me see of I got this straight. You two" Here Shalan pointed at the little girl and the elder one. "Was one person, and your "brother" isn't even related with you??"

Without waiting for an answer Shalan started laughing. It was a really good laugh, precisely the right amount of mania and insanity, but not a little part of joy too. And it wasn't less scary when it comes from a lizardman's throat.

"Hah, I think the world is going insane!! We manage to find a young girl and two children, one who is "the other part" of said girl, soon I'M going to go insane!!"

Shalan took a deep breath, no one had yet to speak a word.

"I only have one question to you, or both of you if you rather want. How can we know that you are from the "Jade Order" or what it's now called, and if that really is a goo...."

Shalan was interrupted by the snap of a twig and the sound of a man running a way from them, screaming:

"Boss, boss there's someone here!"

Jeremy was most surprised to hear that there had been a secret order fighting necromancers. They might be able to free him of Kelthraias's grasp. Or they might slay him right where he stands if they ever found out that he has been in contact with a necromancer lord. Jeremy knew that the best thing that he could do now would be to keep his mouth shut and the withering and numb flesh on his left arm hidden.

Jeremy's thought was interrupted when an unfamiliar voice shouted and was soon answered by many others that were either shouting incomprehensible commands or letting out battle cries as heavy running steps rumbled towards their location.

Jeremy quickly stood up and in his panic started feeling around his waist for the handle of his sword. As he managed to draw his sword from its scabbard he quickly warned the others with panic in his voice: "To arms!"

Chapter 3
   Ambush
"ARMADILLO SCALP!" Huld took the enchanted letter from his pocket and saw that there were still weapons in there. Bending the letter in half a scarlet crossbow and short sword fell out.

The children scurried away and the others rushed to get they're weapons.

"AMBUSH!" cried one of the bandits.

"Ill give you an ambush to remember!" Yelled Huld back at the approaching mass.

The wave... catch... ensnare... Release!

As the bandits were coming into close combat the bonfire that Huld had made exploded propelling burning charcoal into the air knocking three bandits to the ground.

Hulds sword clashed with a bandit and was forcing it downward.

"Serpin-Fernuli!" yelled Huld and his sword was engulfed in flame.

The more he held contact with the sword the more weaker his opponents grip became until it was dropped. A sword came down on the half-ling which was blocked by a silver staff. As soon as it struck the staff it was grabbed by vines.

The bandit was forced to the ground and locked down by roots.

A bolt of fire came from the scarlet crossbow turning the wooden shield of one of the brigands into fiery parade. Running into close range he cut the leg of the bandit.

He swung his sword in the direction of a bandit being fought by Jeremy and a wave of hot flame shot out leaving a scorch mark on the back of the bandit.

Jeremy kicked the screaming bandit over and braced himself for another confrontation when two large bandits knocked him over on the ground and before Jeremy could do much in reaction to this his hands were already bound in heavy shackles and a small sack had been pulled over his head. Jeremy felt the weight of a large foot on his chest as he lied on the ground tossing around quite helplessly as the bandit holding him down laughed.

The few bandits that they had been fighting off had been only a tiny fraction of the large group of bandits that were attacking them and now the rest of the group was catching up them. A powerful and commanding voice shouted: "Just trample on them! We outnumber them five to one!"

A great stampede of bandit-slavers approached the already busy adventurers.

It was as hell had broken loose in the camp. Shalan had grabbed his sword the moment he had heard the cries for reinforcement. The first bandit that had come close to Shalan had had too much sped, his head was looped of in a nearly comical manner, but after that the easy part was over. Shalan quickly found him self outnumbered, several men blocking him, closing in were his longer reach was nullified. Shortly Shalan had lost his sword and was now fighting with his fists, knowing that in such a situation he hadn't time to ensure that his opponents was dead he started to swing about in a wild manner, trying to get some room. Several bandits was hit by Shalan's fists, some merely losing their breaths, other whimpering on the ground with broken noses or jaws an others laying dead still.

Before long however one bandit jumped up on Shalan's back, hindering his movements. After that the bandits closed in once again grabbing his arms and legs, tripping him (One unfortunate bandit however ended up under Shalan.) He laid there on the ground helpless, managing to see Jeremy, his body limp, being dragged away, and the others in the group trying to fend of the attackers. After that a sharp pain erupted in the back of Shalan's head, and everything went black.....

"You Manlings are pathetic!" said Huld who was surrounded by tall figures.

While wards had been fired in his direction he was so small that they went over him. Livia had gone down and Huld was left alone to fend off the attackers. He would have to resort to his last line of defense.

Striking the earth with his sword flame burst out to form a solid fire wall which surrounded his position. None of the bandits dared go through and attack the half-ling who had so far taken down 20 men.

They stood there waiting restlessly. Huld now had taken out his sword and swung it repeatedly spinning harder and faster. The firewall went to greater hights until Huld released and the Wild energy burst trowing Huld in the air. The firewall had also released its fire to scorch the crowd who had earlier been surrounding Huld.

Then a figure stepped out. He was two times bigger than the ordinary man. He had large arms and carried a huge club. Huld was now falling and he prepared to swing his sword which had turned black. The Ogre looked up and tensed his stubby legs.

"GRUK SMASH!" yelled the ogre swinging his club catching Huld in the stomach sending him straight into a tree.

The flame went out and Huld fell down to lay on his face in the earth.

After the bandits had left the area,  Ethan stepped out of the hiding place. He looked a little unhappy.

"Well, now they found the map for us. They took away the fun of trying to locate the minotaur in his labyrinth. Now it is just a matter of following the bread crumbs to our goal."

Ethan took a glance at the ground, then darted off. He was sure Robert would be following along. After a while his mood started to pick up, as he pictured what would be at the map's new location. Soon, they had reached the point were those carrying the map broke off from the rest, and started heading to their camp. Ethan had to stop shortly to figure out which way he needed to go. He then, with his peripheral vision, saw a puff of smoke rising over the trees, from Athkoln. Turning to face it, he laughed a little to himself, but was a little disappointed at missing out on the fun over there. He turned back to his tracking duties.

"This way now, it seems."

So the incantation is "Veritas Credo Oculos"? Shandina asked

"Yes" Answered Hans. "They you wave your hands like this (he maved them in a 8 motion), and if the Purple energy comes forth from your fingertips, then, Shandie, you are able to cast it."

Hans waved is arms again: "Veritas Credo Oculos" and dissapeared in a puff of Purple smoke.

"Now You try" Hans voices said, his body invisible to all

Shandina hesitantly waves her arms: "Veritas Credo Oculos" and she too vanished.

"Excellent, Shandie". Hans' voices boomed.

"How do we get back to visibility, Hans?" Shadina said. Her voice expressed both excitement and anxiety.

"Very Simple, Dear" Hans said, and he chanted the incantation: "Scio Didici Pecto" and suddenly both Hans' and Shandina's Invisibility was Dispelled.

"Wow" Shandina said, looking at her newly-appeared arms. "I never realized you were a spellcaster, Hans"

"Well dear, It's merely logical for my kind, all of us have some sort of talent with Illusionairy Magiks. Well, except Uncle Jedediah of course, who even failed to cast a Scent masking spell on himself after taking his daily milk bath- It proved to be fatal"

"Why? What's wrong with Milk baths?" Shadina asked, looking surprised

"Well, nothing I guess, unless you wish to sneak past a couple of Hobgoblins with a dozen cats meowing after you because of your milkish scent... luckily the scent prevented them from eating him... The Hobgoblins I mean, not the Cats..."

"Hahaha, you silly" Shandina smiled.

Robert was happy to find out they had made it close to the bandit camp, alive. He tried notto show his surprise to Ethan who may change his mind and create some rabid bear to maul me, still. He pulled his fur cloak and boots to reveal his shadowsilk outfit. It was a powerful weapon to conceal your shape in shadows, yet gave no protection against elemental magic or weapons. He tied his daggers to his wrists. All in all, it took him less than a minute to prepare himself.

"So, Ethan, how shall we do this? I could probably sneak in halfway, but if you feel like starting a riot, then I have no objection. The chaos would provide an even better cover." he reasoned. he was almost losing himself in figuring out a plan of action, but was still comprehensible. The fact was that enemy slave traders always carried around hidden allies with them. "Now, would it be easier to go about at night or do you think we can't afford to wait any longer?" Robert muttered, more to himself than to Ethan.

Ethan stands around, pondering the options that are present at this time. After a while, he begins talking to himself, and starts pacing around.

“Now or later? Sneaky or chaotic? Hmm. Well, I do not really care when, as long as it is done at some point, so later would be fine with me. That would allow time to prepare. As far as the other options go, sneaky would probably be the better way to go. Though, chaos is so much more fun to create.”

Ethan stops and grins. He looks to Robert, now adding him into his conversation with himself.

“Perhaps we could do both. Yes. I think we should. We wait until it is night. That is when you sneak in, and plant the seeds of chaos. First, however, we must prepare. Away from this place, however, or chaos may grow before we are ready.”

Ethan turns away from the camp and walks to where he thinks a camp of their own can be created, without the bandits easily happening upon it. Once there, he begins his preparations for the night ahead, leaving Robert to do as he wishes. Ethan goes wandering around, passing through the area a few times here and there. Finally, he comes back and takes a seat, resting against a tree. He removes several of the berries he had been collecting throughout his travels from his pack.

“I believe we are ready. All that needs to be done is prepare these seeds of chaos, and you to place them. Though, the time for their preparation is not quite here. That should occur around half-way back to their camp. Be sure you place them areas that you are positive the map will not be in, unless you lick the idea of it being burnt to ash. Oh. Also, be sure you don’t keep any for yourself, unless you desire the same of yourself. To a lesser extent, likely, but it could still hurt some. These things will erupt, into a small ball of fire, as soon as I command them to, after I get them prepared to do so. So, these placed in select locations could bring a great deal of fun!”

Ethan grins, placing the berries back in his pack.
