You could just imagine the amount of damage Hell Hounds/Cerberi would inflict if they are Blessed and are cast Bloodlust on. Actually they need a wide array of beneficial spells to further increase their stats: Stoneskin, Shield, Bless & Bloodlust.

Who is going to wait for you to cast all those magics?

In endfight against human player its mass haste/slow wich decides battles. Sometimes blind, or expert cure.

Bless is rarely used, bloodlust even more rare.

When choosing an Inferno hero I choose Rashka. There are 2 reasons:

1. Rashka is a specialist in Efreeti (probably because he is an Efreet himself)
2. I always try to make my secondary skills help me in magic and leave the rest to my artifacts. So I often make the following combination:

1. wisdom
2. sorcery
3. resistance
4. scholar
5. fire magic
6. earth magic
7. Water Magic
8. Air Magic

This skill choice may be the reason why u win many games vs the computer, but 1 out of 100 max. vs a human player..

Regarding Inferno creatures, keep in mind the most important two from an offensive perspective are Demons and Efreets. Demons are rediculously inexpensive -- Gold/Health ratio is 7.14, better than only a handful other other creatures in the game -- and should normally be bought out before getting other troops. Efreets can be built early, are fast, and have outstanding health for winning early battles. All other Inferno units should support these two.

Hell Hounds and Cereberi (sp?) are fast, but lack the Health and Defense of Demons and will not last a couple major battles. And of course, the Demons keep gaining numbers from friendly Pit Lords as the battles roll on. Once I let my Hell Hounds start dieing to raise Demons, oh man, so much less anxiety worrying about what the enemy was doing to my poor dogs.

And yes, Cereberi are good for hit-and-run against ground units... but so are Devils, Efreets, and Pit Lords. Let them be sacrificed so that the Demons may conquer!

Well if talking about a quick and powerful offence the best choise is Stronghold, Especially if the random building chooser has build a wolf pen (Behemots on day 2!!!)

isn't it just easier to cast Frenzy?

or prayer, if you can't reach the enemy so easy

I think the best starting hero, and one of the best of all, for inferno is Pyre. She has logistic, artillery with ballista (that can be really usefull in the start, and provides you however with a nice amount of ranged damage, even if you want to ride fast and move only with devils and sultans), and often starts with hounds in addition to imps.

Other good choise it's obviously Octavia, with her +350g per turn.

You couldd consider also Ignatius, with imps and tactics for a fast map(his familiar have 8speed, and with tactics can go for a ranged in 1turn) even if I don't like resistance.

If you like magic heroes, I like Xarfax with fireball from the start leadership and wisdom ^^
