That's ok fred, as you can clearly see in the picture, the only technique requiring for you to be sexually attracted to the animal is the crane. The crane is all about the penis chakras, that's just the way it is, dont ask why. But for the rest, you'll be fine as long as you take them out to dinner occasionally.

I have read some article about difference between Akido and Kung-Fu - Difference Between Aikido and Kung fu.

My conclusions for now is:

Akido is developed for the Samruai who have lose the all of his/her weapon, i.e. The Bow, the Spear, and two Swords.

Quote:

Japan’s Warrior Women

In the case when this Samurai must defend himself against opponents with Weapons helded, this is obviously a very pity situation with a very predictable final (My bad humor... )

(Samurai Champloo, Episode six.) Unarmed warrior - Mugen is trying to avoid a blow from a well armed warrior in the food supply building, using Akido - "force redirecting technicians". .

That because in Akido you must wait until your opponent will make a move, because attacking the guy equipped with somethin' long and sharp, it is not a very wise idea if you have only hands and legs .
So imho, the Kung-Fu is looks more cool. More artistic, I do not know.

It is kinda funny but the things I miss the most are breakfalls(wheee!) and cutting with the sword. I miss the sense of oneness that comes with wielding a sword. Even a wooden one ^^

Knife defenses: Death by Disarm

An interesting article with even more interesting videos. Long story short, do not attempt to fight a knife user Also don't mess with Philipinnos ^^ It is totally worth learning how to use a knife, if only to see what it can do.

Oooh very nice, I'd imagine most of their training evolves around muscle memory and blocking/countering basic lines of attack, I guess it's nice to show the students how much more there is still to go, but most of all never underestimate ze knife or your opponent "nothing is 100%" is the quote of the story imho.

Nice videos Elvin. We practiced some handlocks when I was in army, 14 years ago but I doubt, I could get the right grip at time. Not that I would need that kinda skills much but I have wondered if I see shoplifter or hostile drunker, how to calm them, don't want to punch them, just trip them if necessary.

Meanwhile my practice is starting to bear fruit. My body feels lighter and the mood has improved. It's all coming back fast and steadily updated with new elements so if I keep it up I'll be better than I used to in a very short time. And if I manage my schedule a little better, I'll add a few kali sessions per week. That would be ideal as its strikes and trapping complement aikido very nicely.

Speaking of aikido/striking combinations, here's a good one:

The practicality aspect is the main thing drawing me to it.

Just couldn't find the membership fee for the local Krav Maga gym in my town. Which is the main thing coming into question, wether to take it up or not.

I recommened you for ju-jutsu, if you can't do anything, coach follow your knowing, if you don't knowing at ju-jutsu, coach change for karate, example of white and yellow ju-jutsu belt, orange belt karate, you must try it orange, you are police and guard level, and then you know American police is in Europe and world. Many bone guards are too strong ju-jutsu, what you need maximum secure, you learn to orange belt ju-jutsu in about two years
